  1. They’re two different swords. In Oathbringer chapter 38 Dalinar realizes the Blade Taln’s got now is different from the one he arrived at the Shattered Planes with.
  2. Like making evil Knights Radiant? Basically overextending himself until he gets got by Adolin and BAM?
  3. I think we might be grasping at straws here
  4. Oh wow could be. So then Endowment would actually be fine with multiple Shards on one world? But then why refuse to help against Odium and being like “No Aona and Skai totally had it coming”
  5. I don't know how much we can trust Endowment's word at face value. Harmony's letter indicated Valor wanted to meet, ally with, and work with Hoid against Odium but in her letter Endowment claims Valor doesn't want to see him. I'm leaning toward trusting Harmony on this since he's proven trustworthy throughout the Cosmere while it seems like Endowment just wants Hoid out of everyone's hair. Anyways TLDR I feel we should be suspicious of Endowment
  6. It's because like you said we see her repeatedly adjust as each plan fails and she comes up with a new one but if she planned for him becoming Retribution it would kind of be like the books going "No she totally planned for all of this the whole time. She didn't fail nooooo each one of her 'losses' was all part of her master plan and she foresaw all of this." It's like how Palpatine can also see the future in the Prequels and has this grand plan that goes perfectly but he also makes a ton of really stupid decisions and mistakes but George Lucas was like "Nooooo see he can see the future this was his plan all along actually". I trust Brandon though I don't think he'd pull a George Lucas, this is just how it comes off as of now when we don't have further context
  7. I feel like every musical's a bit cringey, like in Wicked the best song is about how Elphaba's done being chained down by society and how it;s time to stick it to the system man . Hamilton's got founding fathers rapping at each other and Heathers is... Heathers. I love all of these I'm not saying it's a bad thing I just think a lot of musicals have cringey elements in them and that's part of the appeal (to me anyway) YEEEAAAHHH Do you have a favorite saga?
  8. Fair point. I do feel like now we have a bit of an issue with Cultivation now though. It's Schrödinger's Cultivation Flaw. Either she's completely flubbed her plan and let the worst possible candidate take up Odium, ignore her lessons, kill thousands, take up Honor, kill one of Roshar's greatest champions, and lose 90% of the planet to him and his forces OR she's utterly overpowered and planned for all of this and she never failed at any step of this plan. Either a fool or a divine Mary Sue
  9. Well Reason's whole deal is presumably intelligence since that's what reason is: intelligence and wisdom. For Invention you'd also have to be fairly intelligent to create the marvels they did. I think of every Shard we've actually seen so far, Autonomy is the most intelligent as she was able to outmaneuver Harmony on Scadrial.
  10. Oh that is a good point about Shallan and Adolin. I wonder if Taln might take it up. He’s going to be a viewpoint for one of the books and out of everyone we have so far he seems like the perfect candidate (although he might be too perfect that feels too obvious)
  11. I think Shallan has the most bonds of everyone since she’s also technically bonded to Testament as well as Pattern at the same time
  12. It's very rare since the spren don't like it and it would have to be two orders where their ideals don't contradict one another (like you couldn't have a Skybreaker/Willshaper). Plus that might be to overpowered to include in an actual book but Brandon has confirmed in universe it is possible
  13. Name: Delvex Age: 24 Relations: None Gender/Pronouns Male, He/Him Magic: The ability to summon and dismiss any hand held medieval weapon at will (like a sword, spear, shield, axe, etc) Can only summon weapons for himself and can summon one weapon in each hand Description: Wears a white cloak, has white hair and blue eyes
  14. Hey would it be alright if I join in? I don''t really know how this works but it sounds fun lol
  15. That's the only thing that makes me doubt this theory is that a new Shard would feel pretty out of left field since this is the Honor-Odium-Cultivation series (although if Valor is on Roshar she'd be a out of context ally not an out of context threat). That being said there have been hints that Valor could be influencing events, mainly the ones CognitiveShadow listed. As far as Valor remaining undetected it's a bit of a plot point we don't know how she's doing it. Taravangian doesn't know, Wit doesn't know, and neither do we. It's been mentioned multiple times in story that they don't know where she is or how she's hidden. The number of times it's brought up does lend credit to the theory Brandon is seeding this for the backhalf of the series. As far as there not being more signs of her influence, there have been as listed by CognitiveShadow. For changing the environment Shards can just choose not to, the don't need to Invest an area if they don't feel like it. With Cultivation being caught off guard the text says this "Cultivation, terrified, had ejected herself from Roshar." Cultivation didn't plan for this, she was caught completely off guard. Her exit wasn't a tactical retreat it was a terrified and unplanned for flight Agreed, staying out of Shardic conflicts seems like it would align with Reason's Intent while it would be the opposite of Valor's. I think Reason being the 4th Shard's out of the question. The only question is if there's a 4th Shard and if there is it's certainly Valor
  16. I like this theory. For the bit about a 4th Shard having to be Reason or Valor, it seems like it couldn't be Reason and would have to be Valor. We get this section in WaT "He kept his thoughts from Cultivation as she tried showing him peaceful nations on many planets. He instead was most curious about the fact that two of the Shards appeared to be missing, completely vanished from interacting with the others. Hidden. One he understood with some effort. But Valor—where had Valor gone, and how did she hide from even his eyes?" From what I can tell he actually found Reason here meaning the only hidden Shard left is Valor. Additionally, the fact he's looking for Valor and can't find her here was important enough to seed here, I think that lends even more credit to the theory
  17. Oh let’s go the best Shard: Republic Cultivation and Endowment sounds sick they feel like they’d fit perfectly together. Maybe the name could be something like Providence? What are some Cosmere theories you have too? (You should probably put those in the spoiler zone)
  18. One of us! One of us! One of us! Welcome to the Shard man! If you could make another diShard (like Harmony) which two would you combine and into what?
  19. Cultivation didn’t exist yet but the Vessel Korevellium Avast the dragon did. Was Kor in Dragonsteel? I did know about the letters to Frost (I mentioned them earlier) but like I said that’s the only way Frost’s been in the story (aside from Hoid Tamu Kek dming his sister). While Brandon certainly has prior context for Dragonsteel and Isles Of Emberdark, many readers don’t. He’s said he never wants to force fans to read a different novel to understand a part of his books. For that reason I don’t think he’d go “Hey confused by this essential scene in WaT? Go buy my new novel Isles Of Emberdark coming soon!” It’s just not his style.
  20. That is unorthodox lol Why Era 1 Scadrial?
  21. Welcome too the Shard! If you could live in any era on any Cosmere planet where would you go?
  22. Sick I’m with you there. I’d be curious to hear some of your end-of-Cosmere theories too if you have some
  23. Futuresight’s a little rusty, I think the last time I glimpsed a world shattering event was May 28th last year. Anyways like Treamayne said it shouldn’t be quite that long, you underestimate Brandon’s power. If I recall correctly Dragonsteel comes before Mistborn Era 4 as well
  24. Oh ok good to know. It sounds like it would be possible I just don’t think it’s him for narrative reasons. Frost’s only played a role in non-canon/unpublished work (besides his letters to Hoid) and it would feel weird for him to randomly appear at this pivotal moment. It could have been somewhat set up with Wit speaking to his sister but it still feels random and a bit out of place (plus the missing Tamu Kek)
