  1. Don't worry Coder I got you I have 2 braincells Here, take a half of one!
  2. Ash disagreed. He said so, rather loudly. If a chair was spiny, it would likely hurt to sit on, and the primary function of a chair being either that of a comfortable seat or an elevated seat, that would detract greatly from the value of the chair. Of course, that was just him being clever with Coder's mispronunciation, and also because he liked arguing. He didn't need to follow normal structures, he presumed, if it still made sense. That was, he thought, a fallacy of language. To prove his point, Ash conjured up a spiny chair and sat in it. It hurt.
  3. "Power. Legacy. To stop Rebus from getting it. A bargaining chip. It doesn't necessarily matter. So why don't you go turn your recruitment elsewhere?" @Kansas Stormcursed
  4. I throw scissors, which beats your paper.
  5. Ash thought he had it all figured out. The writing. It needed to be 3-D. That way, one could literally read above or into the layers, meant to be read concurrently so as to provide multiple meanings at the same time. But how could that be created? Ash found a spinny chair and sat in it. Because spinny chairs are the best. Hmmm. Maybe it could be a cylinder, where the writing immediately to different radials revolving around the cylinder were the depth element. Then, he thought, if it was coiled, you wouldn't necessarily need an extremely long cylinder. Heck, you could even still make it out of paper. It was at this moment that Ash realized he had just described a scroll. Wait: better idea. Sinusoidal paper. And the writing would just have to be changed to run top-to-bottom. Or, actually it wouldn't, but it would look better if it did. Ash noted that he was particularly more logical this morning. The cat had helped. So had sleep. He continued to stare at empty space, oblivious to what was happening around him.
  6. Erdikan grinned back. "I'm relatively certain that we had determined you were going to try to take up the Mantle yourself."
  7. I don't know about emotion Dawnshards. I do like the thought of Move being one, it kinda feels right. I've always been sorta partial to an Experience Dawnshard though.
  8. idk, that made the most sense to me. You exist before you break. For Retribution, the Oath comes into existense, then it is followed, then it is broken, then you get payback. So I guess that would be more like Exist Move Break Move.
  9. Indeed, he thinks. That was a reaction. Or was it? No, it was. Now he has to do something. Like... ... (thinking is hard) Also--and he wants this to be in the same thing as above. Thing is a colloquial word, he thinks to himself. period space-- ...Also there should be (and here is where he wants to use it (ooh that didn't work but it's still neat))--Ash helpfully intejects himself here, telling the others that was not coherent ignore and to ignore it. He then finishes his rather brilliant epiphany, which he--no don't say that--Shut up!--should be a way in writing to put subtext literally behind or over other text, and not after it. And it was at this point that Kyo drank raw milk and Ash got distracted by that. But only for a few seconds. Mmmmh, gramatical error, he thinks somewhat belatedly, realizing he was supposed to do so a minute ago. Right. Ash goes looking for his cat. I'm out of creativity for the day, he thinks. Then he consistifies everything while pondering why that isn't a word, because OCD.
  10. I'm not sure that's theory (the last line you said) rather than a natural result of how perception works. Makes sense to me. Ah okay I see what you're getting at with the Lightweaving.
  11. Ash walks in. Hmmmm. No. He doesn't. Ash... No. Wait. Ash is sitting in a corner- No he isn't. Gosh he's not doing this so well. He's there. He's certain of that. Where, he asks himself? Good question. He figures he's probably on the edge. Somewhere. Likely towards the middle. And he is looking... For... A... That was not meant to be a buildup, he interjects into the middle of this. No, his... Cat? Sure, cat. Why not, he figures? Ash then proceeds to apologize in advance to everybody who had to read this. Or may read whatever he does in the future. He just kind of wanted to try this out to see what would happen. It happened. So, he thinks. Ash. Sitting in a corner--no, he said he wasn't--ah screw this. Good enough, right? I'm sure that everyone will get it, he thinks to himself in an interesting tone of voice. Yes. He should stop rambling to himself and finish now. And- Frick, I hate having two different keyboards with the keys in different spots, he thinks. Got it! (that was to the typo. He knows he did not make that clear whatsoever, but whatever. And now he's getting distracted again.) (end parentheses) He thinks sorry one last time. Well, probably not, but for now, yes.
  12. Just popping in on this cause I saw the other one. Ado was Shattered twice? Was that an Emberdark spoiler? For your chart: I feel like Invention is more Change Change than Virtuosity. And Ambition feels like Change Move to me, while Reason feels like Exist Move. For Harmony and Retribution, would that mean they are now Exist Exist Break Break and Exist Move Move Break respectively?
  13. Ookay I see what you're getting at here. Most of my statements were for clarification, not necessarily to prove a point. The Surges having been influenced by Rosharan perspective is plausible, though I'm not sure there's evidence in the books to support that. As for why stone, my quick search on the coppermind says that other materials can be molded with Cohesion, though it is ambiguous as to whether we ever actually see this happen or why it isn't common. I know that the Fused brand that uses Cohesion usually passes through stone because it has a hard time moving through materials that were once living, like wood or fabric. Maybe a connection to Awakening there? Anyways, it is possible that Cohesion is used normally on stone as the most common non-living non-metal material in much of the same way. I do know that Cohesion was described as originally being the Surge that was closest to microkinesis, before Honor limited it to remove its destructive capabilities, so I would maybe swap it for Transportation on your list (if you want to keep the list 4 items long). As for microkinesis (DS') I like the idea of the Shards being composed of two Dawnshard Intents each (Resonance!). The other two Commands you proposed seem reasonable to me, though Illumination does not seem like it would fit well with Exist. This part: Your theorycrafting was kind of going in a lot of directions, but I think this is the core of your argument. I personally think that this is a neat idea, and would actually make a lot of sense (unless someone wants to tell me that I'm wrong here). I don't think we really know enough about the Old Magic to say how it could have affected the development of the Surges. It should be important to note that the spren are the ones giving the Radiants the two Surges, and have their own Intents (in a way--less so for the intelligent spren I would guess). Could these perhaps have played a role in shaping the Surges as well? I know that some of the Stone was used in the creation of the Sibling, so it would make sense to me that that was around the time it went silent. One other relevant thing I just found: When using Stoneshaping (Cohesion), the user Connects directly with the Stone spren. Ancient Singers used to be able to sing to the Stone to get it to mold to the shape that they wanted, very similar to modern Stoneshaping minus the singing part. Perhaps you are right in a way that the Stone, by doing this, somehow impacted how the Surge of Cohesion would turn out.
  14. Erdikan released 's wrist and glared at Malevolence. "No. He doesn't. Why are you all such horrible people?"
  15. "Don't call me friend." None would ever call him that again, not after what had been done to him.
