  1. Welcome! Have and upvote and a delicious cookie. If you enjoyed WoT, check out the Stormlight Archive. Similar size, epicness, and all. Or, if you're burned out on 1,000+ page novels for the next year, Mistborn would be a good choice.
  2. Iiintereeesting... I know there are Allomantic savants: people who have, like Spook, flared their metals to the point of physiological change and theoretical greater control/power over the metal. A Feruchemical savant, if they exist (WoB, anyone? 'Cause that sounds pretty cool), might very well be able to do this.
  3. Hooray for educated, civil discussion about politics! Though, as fascinating as I find government, I wouldn't touch politics with a ten-foot pole.
  4. @Topomouse: There isn't anything really mega-Cosmere-special about it. Just dramatic echo, as Kobold pointed out. I just thought it was interesting.
  5. This is a (very) short story I wrote last year for my creative writing class, and I thought I'd share it with all of you. Comments and criticism are welcome. Please keep in mind that this version hasn't been revised much. Gesundheit
  6. This may have already been pointed out, but I didn't see any topic to do with this, so here we go. Some time ago I was perusing WoK for the umpteenth time, and I came across this quote in "Of Alds and Milp," one of the Kaladin flashback chapters: Sound familiar? In the Words of Radiance chapter "The One Who Killed Promises," the following is found: Sneaky, sneaky Brandon Sanderson.
  7. When this is your reaction to seeing someone else reading a Sanderson book:
  8. One hundred posts to me! Yay!

  9. The other Shin? Or do you want a specific Parshendi name?
  10. Assuming "most infamous" is referring to Szeth, the Parshendi?
  11. The one Sanderson story I didn't think of. Wow. Have an upvote.
  12. Shai or Shallan?
  13. The only woman I can think of who hasn't already been mentioned and is "missing" is Wax's sister, though I don't think she's a Misting. There's also Lessie, but she's less "missing" and more "dead."
  14. Yes. I said "other" because I'd prefer we had knowledge of all 16 Shards before making a choice.
  15. Eat the cookie, Scar. You won't regret it. Think of it as a welcoming gift.
  16. Areas, as in like roleplaying? 'Cause I'm mostly just here to pick up a thing or two about hemalurgy and spiked cookies.
  17. I retract all of my previous statements about the evils of cookies and offer you one, spike-filled -free of course, as a welcoming gift.
  18. In which we take a break from the insanity to welcome (hopefully) your newest member. ... Hello, everyone!
  19. Straff Venture?
  20. I have a feeling that Stick would get along well with Groot.

    1. Kobold King

      Kobold King

I like to think that Rocket and Groot visited Roshar once. After a failed attempt to scam Sebariel, they fled to the Frostlands where Groot stumbled over a cremling and shed a stick.

This stick went on to encounter Shallan Davar, and the rest is history.

  21. "So what's drearifying you today?" -- Syl to Kaladin in what is possibly the best chapter ever.
  22. Welcome! No, seriously. Ignore the cookies and read Warbreaker.
  23. Ati's ginger, but I doubt you'd want to date him.
  24. It's something to do with Nalthis, I assume? One of the Returned?
  25. Granted, but it's that bitter baker's chocolate. I wish to pass all of my classes, from now to when I graduate from college.
