Aaand one of our cats just died. Hit by a car. And she was the cuddly one, too. She liked to come and sit on your chest while you were lying down and purr. And now she's gone. Another thing is... see, I'm actually not too torn up about it. Yeah, I'm sad, 'cause I'll never get to pet her again, but mostly I'm sad for my sister, who this cat belonged to, and for my other cat, who was the brother of the cat who died. Maybe it's because I know she's not gone forever? You know, up in Heaven I'm pretty sure she's frolicking away. And also, right before my mom broke the news, I remembered how she (the cat) used to run up when I walked home and demand that I pet her. That might have something to do with it? Sad. -
Anyone here read the essay Brandon wrote a few years back about LGBT, specifically Dumbledore? It's here, and it's really good.

Yessss! ...oh crap. Now I have to make a bad description. Um... the world is going to end because a pessimist invented time travel.

You said it perfectly! Judging people for something like that is just plain dumb, in my opinion. And as I've said before, I may not like what you believe -- but that does not mean you don't have a right to believe what you want or identify how you want, nor will I judge you for it. And I'm not trying to call anyone specific out here. This is in general terms, and if I offended you, I really am sorry. That was not my intention at all.

Y'all should go check out springhole.net. Methinks you would find it interesting. And yes, I posted this in another topic. I do that. Oops. I swear it's not because of vanity.

Am I the only one who's gonna mention the Captain from Stardust? It's been a while, so I can't remember much, but he was rather outside the stereotypes. Also, I saw an essay somewhere that basically said "feminism does not mean the girl always has to open the jar. It's common sense to let whoever's able, boy or girl, open said jar."

Not if you're me! 6' 7" has its uses. > Anyways, yeah, fire alarms suck. Like the one time I stayed up practically the whole night 'cause of one alarm's "low battery" chirping. Not because it was loud, but because my cousin had scared the wits out of me earlier with a scary story. Or the time the fire alarms woke us up at 6:45 in a hotel in England. And it wasn't a drill. Somebody had blown a fuse, and now I'm being woken up by a loud, red, blinky thing on the ceiling. But, of course, we tolerate them as they may save our lives one day. Maybe. Assuming we're not too desensitized to their noise to just ignore them. -
Straight, cis male. Though, again, not your stereotypical "manly man". I have been known to squee at supersonic levels after watching/reading something, and I avoid sports like the plague. I don't like hunting or fishing, and generally stay away from outdoorsy things. And at the same time there's likely a plethora of things considered, at the very least, not something a guy would usually do. Yup.... that's really all there is to it. And I'm so glad this isn't tumblr. Thank goodness this place isn't polluted by the same negativity.

I agree, salvation isn't guaranteed by works alone. I think these links might help me to explain: 2 Nephi 25:23, and "The Gift of Grace" by President Uchtdorf. The first one, as I understand it, is saying that leading a good life with good works is important, but alone is not enough to save us. The second is a marvelous talk from the most recent LDS General Conference, and talks about God's grace. About your stillborn child -- Moroni 8:8, if it helps. Moroni 9:26 is another that I would just like to share, because I found it while I was looking up the others.

Which Sanderson character would you date? Also, if a Sharder suddenly showed up at your farm in the middle of nowhere with a plate of alfredo, what would you do?
