I have great respect for songs. I, as most of you probably know, am a poet, and I consider songs to be a perfect little in-between poetry and stories. I think songs are great at communicating stories and feelings through poem-style lyrics that can be long enough to tell a story, and deep, powerful tonal additions with the music.

Ok so
hypothetically
lets say
that a hypothetical person, let’s call them Cool Dave, was thinkin
and Cool Dave realized that he could say an insult to one of his friends
that would crush them. And he wouldn’t use it, but he had to ability to, and if he did, they would be hurt. It would be really bad having someone they are friends with say that
and now let’s say that Cool Dave is kinda scared, but resolves to just never use this terrible insult
but later, Cool Dave is thinking, and he realizes that in a very specific situation, he would use said insult on said friend. He would understand that this insult would be ethically wrong to use, and no matter the context it wouldn’t be okay. But he would use it, and it would still feel justified. Because of the specific situation, it would fit. And he would say this thing, no matter how long he has to think about this.
and now Cool Dave feels really bad. Although said situation has not happened, he still feels really bad, and is wondering if he is a bad person.
is Cool Dave a bad person? (For clarification, it is not a single word)

Cool Dave is not a bad person. Everyone has thoughts. What matters is how you react to the thought.
You don’t want to hurt your friend. That’s the core thing here. You have no intention or desire to hurt them. That’s what matters most, I think.
We all have something we could say to that one person, but we don’t because we don’t want to hurt them or the relationship. That’s what’s important. That you don’t carry out an action that would hurt them
