Coder stares at his phone. "This... This..." He shows Deception his phone. His phone is currently running Java minecraft. "This... THERE AREN'T ANY INPUTS!" Coder walks into the room fully, materializes a table, pulls his computer out of his pocket dimension, and telekeneticly starts up minecraft. "I'm probably the best at redstone here."

"Hey, Welcome!" "The magic that runs in the air, courtasy of me." "*magic*" "Heyyyyyy" "Or being a trickster god, like me!" "I used to be one. Bad, bad days..." Coder looks around. "What have you done to my bar??" Coder snaps his fingers, and he is magically replaced with a freestanding door. All the other doors are gone. Coder opens the door from the other side, which the original bar, unchanged. You notice it is one of the doors that was attatched to the wall. "Welp, have fun in here!" Coder says before closing the door.

Welcome to the shard! It is a wonderful place here, finding a neurotypical person is like finding a needle in a haystack. And it is hard to find someone mean, and even if you do, the mods will crash down upon them like Zeus realizing someone stabbed one of his many many many many many many many children. (God, I love greek mythology) The cosmere is a beautiful place ripe for theorizing. I won't be the person to break down how the subforums work, but I find them to be fairly self-explanatory. Many of us here are super-science-nerds who love how easily investiture fits into normal laws of matter. And the art here is amazing. We have many talented artists, not all of them arting the cosmere, and many talented poets and writers too! I would definitely reccomend the RPs. They are quite fun, and not all of them are about the cosmere! I think there is a star wars one happening right now, and plenty which are entirely original!

Mmmmm that makes sense. Thanks for the input! Wait explain that to me. Someone can use they/them pronouns but still identify with gender assigned at birth? There is a term in the community called 'egg' which means a trans person who has not realized it yet.

Folks who can Code

I understand everyone drawing their line, but as I see it, it was created unethically, and it will continued to be used unethically, so this is where I draw mine. I will never willingly use or open a chatbot, I switched search engines to escape google's AI, and this is my little way that I can try and support the environment. I, personally, don't have any problems with the time-frame. I enjoy coding, and anything that keep me doing that longer I embrace. I don't love the tedium of debugging, but I enjoy it just as much as any other part. Yes, but I think it is bad to encourage the destructivity. Until AI can miraculously fix it's energy consumption, cooling capabilities, creation of parts, or some how solve global warming, I will continue to use climate change as a point against AI. As for the companies? Yes, that is true, but I don't want to interact with the same thing that is generating a response telling children to not tell their parents about their suicidal thoughts, encourage destructive behaviors, and encourage suicide. The people getting effected by this don't see AI as a friend, they see it as tool to solve all their problems, and give them all their answers, even about their mental health, which is exactly what the AI has been advertised to do. So maybe it isn't a point against using AI, but it doesn't make me want to use it any more.- 149 replies

Once again, just because most people do it, doesn't mean you should. I can understand using AI to debug, but I prefer to not support the terrible company doing terrible things like illegally stealing copyrighted information, destroying the environment, and encouraging suicide, and instead learn valuable lesson like perserverance through hard and tedious tasks like slowly debugging a large program.- 149 replies

I love how it dances. It is unrestrained, it does whatever it wants. It lights up the world, the glows so many beautiful hues. It is not matter, but it is close to being alive. It dances from here to there, bringing destruction in it's wake. For many it is terror, but even that is beauty. For all the pain it causes, we harnessed it for warmth. It is the air we breath, and what we make out of it. It breaths like we do, it eats like we do. Who is to say it isn't alive? It dances like we do, it destroys like we do. Who is to say it isn't alive like we are?

Coder sees what's happening, and gazes down at his hands. His eyes go blank, draining of color. His entire body drains of color as he rises up into the air, his eyes turning pitch black as greyscale begins to seep out of him onto his surroundings. The offer burns up.

Good night! Also you should therapy someone to death sometime. Much more fun (and more theraputic) then stabbing!

"Oh. It's a cult???" Coder asks. "Why didn't someone tell me sooner? I love those!"

The lights begin to dim. A spotlight shines on Coder. You see tears trickle down his eyes as he tries to hide a strange plastic bottle. "It all began one summer day..." Coder monologues, "When school had just begun! It was 6th Grade, of middle school. And I had a best frieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeend. See on that day, I realized he... didn't get his elective with meeeeeeee. He had gottennnnnnnnnnnnnnn," Coder stops, the beat the pausing. He then continues without any song his voice. "Band. Dudududu da. Dudududu da. It was then, when I didn't know it... But all of my friends... WOULD BE INFECTED... Just like he was. Dudududu da. Dudududu da. Sure I got some other friends, but those that he pulled on... would always be closer, and more, and greater, than any I could find. Before I knew it, all of my friends, were musically inclined. I got more and more surrounded, until NOW. See... now... all of my friends from middle school... are all music kids, or just barely escaped. It was traumatizing, really. What happened to me? Truely traumatizing. I have just barely managed to stay beyond the... music kid event horizon. And yet... sometimes, at night. I find myself tapping a beat I made up myself. And as I stare at my hands..." Coder pauses, "I see myself holding drums, and I physically gag. I cannot be like them. I CANNOT! It goes against all of my being! They are... what I have always despised. I can not, MUST NOT! Become like them." The lighting returns to normal. "Yeah so that's what happened."

ARE WE TALKING ABOUT LABELS CAUSE I LIKE TALKING ABOUT LABELS I think labels are stupid. The fact of the matter is, the very concept of a Label is improbable and idiotic. That being said, I have never wanted anything more in my life than to be labeled. See, I am something called a conflicted Labeler. Someone who hates labels, and yet loves them and labels them anyway.

I'm just saying, the doomed mentality isn't going to fix anything! You know the saying in how bystanders are also parts of the problem? Just because everyone else is doing it doesn't mean it's ok!- 149 replies
