I’m going to compare AI/Vibe Coding to evolution

for the purpose of this exercise, those of you who don’t believe in macroevolution, don’t derail the convo and just pretend with me Alr?

so human lungs. They evolved this great suffocation detection, if you hold your breath for to long, your brain will yell at you.

But how does this work? Did evolution give humans low oxygen detection? No, detecting high carbon dioxide is what was evolved. This is because evolution just never saw a high enough scale where the opposite would be more useful. And in the end, it still works how you would think. Until, of course, it doesn’t.

Using AI coding, or vibe coding, without knowing how to read code, all you know is whether or not it works for the specific situation you invision. And if it doesn’t work, how do you know what part is broken?

oh yeah also AI is quickly killing us all and destroying the environment but apparently people need more than ‘you are killing humanity’ to stop doing something grumble grumble
