The Splintercast Reads Edgedancer, Episode 4 [The End]
Binnut commented on FeatherWriter's article in Shardcast
I'm sad and dissapointed that there won't be a splintercast for Oathbringer, or possibly ever (Cant accept this!). In a way, I never expected there to be splintercast for any other works than Stormlight Archive, and was very much looking forward to Oathbringer. It was the main "work" in a way. However I do understand that regardless of what the real reasons are, it must have taken a lot out of you to do this, I do not think I would have been able to do anything similar (I'm to quiet, and reads very intensly), not to mention, having to wait until alone, and with a microphone. I mentioned in an earlier comment that I think that it is great to be able to look into the mind of another fan reading the book, and it could maybe be interesting if someone else felt up to the task of doing Oathbringer. This would enable us to get a different set of experiences of the book, widen the perspective so to speak. But even so, If you would be up to it (depending on the reasons of course), it would be interesting to get splintercast in some light form from you Feather, like comments after chapters, liveblogging, you name it. It's of course up to you, but I personally would like to have some sort of glimpse of a Oathbringer Splintercast in some way. If this really is the end of Splintercast, Thank you feather for giving so much of yourself to us listening, it has been wonderful!- 15 comments

Lately I've identified myself with Dalinar. I like him hold myself to a pretty strict code, partially out of the feeling of being weak to temptations, and therefore need to control myself strictly. Take candy for example, I can abstain completely, but as soon as I give myself some leeway, I become a total sweet tooth, who can't stop

Poland - Warsaw and Krakow events 18/21 March
Binnut replied to Extesian's topic in Events and Signings
@Extesian I think that you need to split your spoiler content into multiples spoilers. Everything does not seem to fit in it confusingly enough. After a while the text just continues under the next post for me. -
Welcome to the forums! I hope you will grow to like it here. So, do you have any drawings you would like to share, or see other's drawings? I think the Creator's Corner sub-forum might be a good place for you then. There is a lot of theorizing going on around the forum as well, so If you like that sort of stuff, you have quite a lot to read! Once again welcome!

Welcome to the forums, I hope you will find your place here. That said, I find myself agreeing with some of the points raised by others here and I think that the tone of your letter is what some of us are having issues with. What is bringing us together here is a love for Brandon Sandersons books, and we might not always like all of his decisions, but we can generally agree that he is doing what he believes to be the right decisions for these books. Some of us might give some feedback, and tell him what we liked and did not like as much. I think your letter comes of as not suggesting something that you might like take a bigger place, but as telling him that he is doing it wrong, and the telling him what he should do. Expressing the same "feedback" as "I feel that there is to much of this and to little of that" instead might make it more likely to give effect, as well as triggering discussion about how explicit sexual relationships should be for example. This would also make it sound less like you are demanding these changes. If you write your opinions in a less "strong" style, and more diplomatic style, I think that you would find a good home here, as most posts is motivated by opinions in one way or another. As a final note, I do not think that sex should be much more explicit in the books, but I do respect that you would like that.

The Splintercast Reads Edgedancer, Episode 2
Binnut commented on FeatherWriter's article in Shardcast
I recently came back to this site after some time away, and I was delighted that there was more Shardcast to be heard. As far as I remember, only WoR existed back then. And now there was this massive amount of new episodes. But sadly, I'm through them now :-( I really love this these recordings, partly I admit because some of the hilarious reactions that sometimes turn up. However, I think that one of the main parts that I like is to get into the head of another fan, especially one so different to me in so many ways as Feather is. And listening to her reacting to these books that I love gives me another perspective. For example, I am as far from a linguist as possible, but I do enjoy the tidbits of that world, and its connections to these books. I do not get as emotionally involved the characters, and it is fascinating to listen to someone who does, and get to know a different view of them. I did not for example notice Renarin as much to begin with, but I now notice him as a little more a side character. It is also fascinating to get the views on plot, and phrases from someone else that writes stories, as that is not something that I am good at at all. I could continue for a while, but to summarize, I appreciate the different ways we enjoy the books, and how it gives glimpses into another world. So I would like to thank you Feather for giving us the opportunity to experience the books in your head so to speak, and for giving me insights into a very different world than my own than my own regular life. Thank you /Binnut- 14 comments

The Cosmere-Realization Face
Binnut replied to AndrewStirlingMacDonald's topic in General Brandon Discussion
For some of us, there's not even a translation to our own language. Not that I would read it in Swedish even if it got translated, I original language is often best, if you can read it well.- 23 replies

I played a year or two back, lvl 6 resistance. We were completely outnumbered at my uni, so it quickly became quite frustrating.

The weakness could then be the mention of Zombies, or Hell since it reminds them of the fear.

Firefight talk (SPOILERS!!! do not read before book)
Binnut replied to Sirscott13's topic in The Reckoners
I also remember Megan saying in Steelheart that her shield jacket fails all the time. It is written in a context that makes it seem like it's working, but often fails, but the reality is probably that it fails literally all the time. They weren't able to use the "harmsway" to heal her either. -
That is actually what stops me... I would really like to have those, but the 120 dollar is too high for me.

The Ultimate SLC Comic Con Stalker Strategy Thread
Binnut replied to Seonid's topic in Events and Signings
Time to increase our expectations then, I want Weiry to eat a hat! -
He might still be influenced by the forum through Peter, but i guess that he want it to be something done knowingly, and through discussion with Peter instead of unconsciously like it could be if he frequented the forums himself. My guess is that the fate of some minor characters and events could be influenced by the forum in some small way, like for example if the entire forum wants to see what happened to a specific character it may happen, but changing plot or characters would be a long shot. On the love triangle topic. Brandon has said : " I'm not a fan of the traditional love triangle. However, I am fond of conflict in relationships." I'm interested in how he will do this. I think we can trust him to make something good out of it. It may become a love triangle, but I think he will surprise us concerning how it plays out somehow.

I have seen Brandon state somewhere that he does not frequent the forums for just that reason, he has no wish to be influenced by our theories, even unconsciously. But as you say, Peter probably relays a funny thing here and there =P

What happened/will happen to Eshonai
Binnut replied to missionaryofgod's topic in Stormlight Archive
It is as far as I know a popular opinion that Eshonai survived the fall, either because of shardplate, stormform or both. I think most people agree on that one. As to the rest. The impact of the fall could maybe force the spren out. The Comet spreen that has been following is according to theories I've seen a highspreen, and if that is true, her becoming a Radiant will probably be because of that spren. -
Hej! =) Jag skriver på svenska nedan så att vi håller andra delaktiga... But neither Stormlight archive or all Wheel of time books are translated to Swedish either as far as I know. And you are here, so English do not seem to be a big issue for you! Apparently I wasn't fast enough... Anyway, we do not really sure what powers Hoid posess, but we do know that he has powers, and our guesses at those powers would make him very hard to kill.

I moved my vote from Wilson to Kamden because of that the information that she is spiked with Twelfth's spike and that lessens the propability that she is posessed by a kandra, and because i think Kamden is a good place for the Kandra to hide. (I know I have argued against it before, but we havent really been on the Kandra trail so they could have done a gamble, and it paid off. I also wanted a tie at the moment for my own protection.) I did expect that one of you would make the lynch happen (of me or someone else) after I went to bed. It had probably been better if you succeeded to lynch me than this tie, since that would you look in other directions now. My ability is also pretty useless now that it is in the open, since the Kandra now know it. They wont attack me (they know I am no Kandra, and thus risky to hit if I have been telling the truth), but I'm still a suspect to the rest of you since you cannot know. Next turn I won't try to defend myself if you want to lynch me, it is probably better that you lynch me than a tie again, you may spike me tonight (making someone unknown safer). I will try to discuss things, and vote though. I'm a bit down IRL at the moment, and have a lot on my plate and finds myself not caring that much about this game anymore. It would in some ways be a relief if I was killed, not that it would gain you anything more than confirmation of that I am telling the truth. So, you may do whatever you wish, and I will try to uphold my end of this, but if you really suspect me, go ahead and kill me next turn!

Ok, that seems to add up very well Wilson. I think Dants would make a perfect hiding place.

I actually hoped that the Kandra would target me insted, but they did not. I am Kolossblooded and would not have been affected by it (provided that no coinshot targeted me that is and I find that unlikely). I have reavealed this to Twelfth and Koll. I admit to being less active than normal, school is having something to do with that, but a big part is also that I have trouble leading, I was online when no one had been posting yet, and was at a loss as to what to say. (The cycle times do not at all agree with me...) Kamden has not been online for a long time, and might have be a good target for the Kandra to hide in. But do not expect him to answer... I will vote for Wilson parptly out of survival instinct, and partly because of she haven't really been like before for a while. (I know, the same could be said about me.)
