  1. “They might try. But I won’t let them.” It turned to the others. ”Jidah, I need you to make sure the shield is 100% hooked up to the Rift and not any other energy source. Everyone else, try to reduce your energy signature as much as you can. We need to go dark.” 209845 took a deep breath, then turned to Lati. ”I’m going to go into Dark Mode. That means I might be unresponsive for a little while. Take this.” A light orb coalesced in its hand, and it held it out. “When the threat is passed, I will need you to grab that orb. That should wake me up.”
  2. Not that I’m complaining. @#1 Taln Fan is awesome
  3. Eternity… another Primal. That made two of them on Açila. No, not just that. Two of them interested in this specific group of people. There was definitely something going on here… “The Cloud is not awful. It does not care what you think of it, for it works.” Of course, it clearly isn’t perfect… “Yes. Them. They have arrived.”
  4. *hugs* That’s rough, but at least now you’ve got it out of the way. Even if it’s stressful, it’s a step forward. An important one. *hugs as well* Honestly, your stance here makes a lot of sense. You shouldn’t have to feel that way around her, and you definitely deserve better. Just remember that your worth is not tied to her. You’re awesome, regardless of whether or not she sees that. We do. And we’re here for you. Every step of the way.
  5. Okay! Thanks to @Ashbringer for the awesome GMing (especially the writeups (is that what they're called? ), they were great ) We were doomed from pretty early on, but still managed to hang on a little longer. In the end, I think it was innactivity that killed us. I planned to have either @TwinStorm or @BridgeBoi give up their breaths C4, but without telling the main thread, and then when they get killed in C5, I give up MY breath, thus keeping the game going until C6 when our breaths run out. Sadly, that didn't work out I was reading the spec doc, and it was hilarious did not expect my breath shenanigans drawing so much attention kinda made me regret killing Stick and Kaz early on... Also thanks to @KelsierApologist and @The Wandering Wizard for making the endgame fun when everyone else practically disappeared Also, apologies to Polly for constantly misgendering Elydir, something I only realized near the end and tried to fix Evinir opened his eyes to a new day. Stuck in the cramped walls of his dull, grey cell, he knew he should feel more sad. His career was ruined; he would never be able to run for governor now, and the Assembly had practically been skinned. But at last, there would be peace. Starkeeper's sacrifice, while not ideal, ensured that. It wasn't the type of peace Evinir had wanted - the move was likely to strengthen the bonds between the two nations - but it was peace nonetheless. In a few days, he should be let out of here. It wouldn't take long for the authorities to verify his innocence, and then he could go. But go where? Evinir had no future ahead of him. He was a drab. His political aspirations were wrecked. His parents had cut ties with him long ago; he couldn't bare to face his uncle. Instead of lamenting over the future, however, Evinir's mind was stuck on the words of men now dead or gone. Threnody. Evinir had no clue what it was, but it excited him. And Wiz - no, Darth Wizard - had demonstrated powers far beyond anything Evinir had known was possible. And then there was the matter of the third traitor; Timmy. Timmy had been a shy and unassuming diplomat, but just because he had yet to demonstrate any incredible abilities didn't mean he didn't have access to them. And all this just made Evinir want to know more. Suddenly, his musings were interrupted by the footsteps of a visitor arriving at his cell. Evinir raised his head, tired, expecting a guard with the morning gruel. His face took on an aspect of shock as he stared right into the eyes of his uncle. A stern, balding man, the look on Lendir Cragborn's face was one of utter distaste. Evinir sat up, and raised his chin high. And received a vicious slap. "Idiot boy!" his uncle growled. "You have ruined everything! I shouldn't have expected any better. Of course, the one seemingly good person in that family turns out to be the same scum as the rest. Kneel! Kneel, boy!" His uncle slapped him again, and Evinir took it all without flinching, even as he began to taste blood on the inside of his mouth. He got down on his knees, withholding himself from fighting back. His uncle continued to hit him, and Evinir wondered where were the guards. Probably waiting outside, counting the gold that had somehow found its way into their pockets. After what felt like an eternity, with Evinir crumpled on the floor in a pool of his own patheticness, the blows stopped coming. He cautiously raised his head, nose dripping with blood, to see his uncle looking down on him with a disdainful grimace. "You weakling," Lendir spit out. "I can't stand to be with you anymore. Do not even consider coming crying back to me, or I will have your head." And with that, his uncle was gone. Evinir stayed there for a few minutes, lying on the hard rock and thinking. He knew his uncle was right. He was a failure. He always had been. So why did it hurt so much? The door opened again, and Evinir didn't bother to look up this time. "Storms, you look like you're in bad shape." The jarring accent caused Evinir to finally sit upright. The speaker was a tall, lanky man with slick white hair and a playful glint in his eyes. He had a faint, shimmering aura around him... colors, this man was an awakener. "Who are you?" Evinir asked, awed. The man smiled, emphasizing the angular shape of his face. "Yes, we're going to have a lot of fun, you and I." Thank everyone for making this an amazing first game!
  6. A million thoughts raced through Evinir’s mind. His childhood, beaten up for his interests… his uncle, that screamed at him for being friends with that Hallandren scum… his sister, who was always a better person than he… and her death, four years ago, of an unidentified sickness. His hopes for the future; hopes he would never see played out. His drive, his plans, his fear. They all took over for a second. The weight of it all threatened to crush him, and it was only momentum that kept him going. Hadn’t it always been? A tear rolled down Evinir’s cheek. And his knife hit flesh.
  7. I don’t believe it

We go to visit our cousins for ONE WEEK, the only time they see us for 6 MONTHS, and they have to ruin it by beating each other up

It’s ALWAYS like this with them

Like they never grow up, and I just can’t take it anymore

So I’m basically spending my time crying over assholes in my room right now cause I can’t be with them right now

    I’m not okay

WHY DO THEY HAVE To ALWAYS BE LIKE THIS!!??

thanks for coming to my rant

      Huh. Woulda placed you earlier.

  8. No… NO! ”Starkeeper, run!” Evinir screamed. He turned back to Wiz. So it was true… he was going to be the final surviving Assmebly member. Funny. Evinir had never expected to live the longest. He was a coward. But he wasn’t a traitor. Evinir leaped at Wiz, lashing out with his knife, aiming for the main artery. At least he would die a good man, after a life as an antihero.
  9. Evinir gathered his courage, raising his head resolute, and… nope. Nope, nope, nope. What was he doing? He wasn’t a hero. Evinir’s arms turned to jelly, and he began to run down the palace steps, screaming for help. @Ashbringer, I’m worried about @TwinStorm and @BridgeBoi. They haven’t posted for two cycles now; if they don’t come online, the votes will tie 1:1, and the villagers will lose because of breath.
  10. The Blight… 209845 searched its databases, and identified a potential match. The Blight could be another name for the Dusklands, in which case, this Mountain was somewhere they could very well go. ”Who is this SoW? You claim it is a shadow of a shadow of a deity… a Primal? Or something else?” 209845 was choosing to avoid dealing with the matter of Oxy’s attention for now. Suddenly, 209845 felt an odd sensation. It began small, but quickly grew. It’s connection to the Cloud, blinded by Dazh, began to rip and tear, as if something on the other side was trying to get through. And the Web… stirred. 209845 felt a chill. THEY were here.
  11. Evinir jumped, and tried to leap away, but was too slow. He watched in shock as a streak of red appeared down his arm. The pain, stingingly hot, arrived a second later, and he screamed. Maybe someone would hear, and come help him. Who was Wiz really? Clearly, he was no mere Idrian extremist, nor a Hallendren. And Elydir… before his death, he had mentioned a “Threnody” to Evinir in private. Despite the urgency of his situation, he couldn’t help but worry that he was dealing with Lowe’s far beyond his scope.
  12. It’s first memory? Why, that was of course… huh. 209845 sifted through its archives. Let’s see… going into the caverns. Before that, the encounter with Dazh. Meeting Rhyme. Finding the party in the woods. Receiving a communication from Cloud control, warning it of an anomaly. And before that… 209845’s records faded into static. There was something there; it had not been reset. The memories were just… corrupted. 209845 felt a chill run through its form. That was definitely not normal. ”I… don’t really know. I was created knowing everything.” 209845 turned towards Spirit, gaze narrowing. ”You. ‘Spirit’. You claim to seek to aid us in our quest. Somehow, you seem to know more of it than we do. We seek to help this world weather what inevitably approaches; now would be a good time to meet this ‘leader’ of yours.” 209845 had its attention peaked. This being, the great Oxymoron, a Primal, had a… painful memory? It seemed even the greatest divinities were subject to emotion. Emotion… such a fallible, mortal quality. No, not mortal. A living quality. And 209845… it wasn’t living, it realized. Not in the way other beings lived. It had been taught to believe that emotion was a weakness, that the Cloud was superior for avoiding it. But it seemed that the Cloud was not the norm; it was the exception. Cloud agents weren’t born. They didn’t grow organically. They never evolved. They were artificial beings, constructed and ingrained with just enough life so as to complete their function. Function. Everything was about function. Efficient, unquestioning function. It was excused as perfection; and yet, standing there in the midst of these beings, mortal and divine, connected by their emotion, 209845 couldn’t help but feel like the odd one out. 209845 took a break from its musing to transmit a message to Lati. Her and Jidah’s forms of mind reading seemed to be different, as as far as 209845 was aware, only Lati could understand its thoughts. Lati. Be careful. This being is extremely powerful. DO NOT anger it.
  13. Uhh… not really Depends on what your time zone is I made some ‘Cuz I’m Bored memes

  17. @Ashbringer, when will you bring in replacements for TwinStorm and Bridgeboi if they don’t come online? Just wondering, as I feel like they would influence the result of this a lot. Evinir raised his head, attempting to put on a mask of braveness. ”With a single scream, I can bring the entire palace down on you. You are not the one in power here.”
  18. Do I detect a Sanderpun?
  19. Uhh… what? I think you’ve got the wrong expansed universe Evinir reeled back in shock, his heart pounding. What witchery was this? Evinir deftly slipped out the knife hidden in the folds of his robes. It was still stained by drops of Elydir’s blood; he hadn’t taken it off his person since the events of the previous night. ”In the name of Austre and the Idrian kingdom, I order you to stand down, or you will face the fair that awaits you.” Deep inside, Evinir trembled in fear. He was a diplomat, not a fighter. But he would do his part for his country.
