Long Game 105: Obliteration
Hoid Slayer replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yup, got it. Sorry everyone, Ive had a busy afternoon and I was working on a really long post that I never got around to finishing, but it’s late so I guess really long post can wait till tomorrow morning. In the meantime, I have some things I would like to comment. … I literally gave a summary of my findings last night. I won’t find it right now, but basically, I found some weird plants, tried to touch it, didn’t work. You can go check it out. Yup. I was just about to suggest you do that after reviewing the past cycles. NO! Again, I stand firmly by the position that an exe will ALWAYS BE A BAD THING. At the best, we hit right and purify our info a little. At the worst, we hit wrong and help the elims win. It’s NOT WORTH IT. Unless the doppels win by majority, not extermination… Also… Anyone else think Quivil is acting WAYYYYY too aggressive here? The forcing away from potentially crucial info and wild defensive acusaciones towards Polly read a lot like a desperate elim. That said, even though I suspect Quivil of being a doppelgänger, I would oppose exeing her just in case, just maintaining a measure of doubt over her claims. Personally, I think I’ll go check out the island, but keep in mind folks that my ability has nothing to do with exploration. Tomorrow I’ll be releasing a post with a summary of everything we know so far along with my personal notes. Hopefully we can piece this puzzle together. -
*sigh* Yes. Apparently there are people out there capable of such herculean feats. Meanwhile, the rest of us can only lay back and imagine such a world... instead of sleeping.

Reminds me of a time when I first started playing frisbee And I dropped my glasses in the wet, grassy field at night And the entire group (most of whom I didn’t even know yet) started searching for them with their phone flashlights It was a little embarrassing But also nice

No, duh xD I meant, in your day to day, do you go by something different than your birth name? Cause you made it sound like the coach was using a different name for you, but you were still used to hearing the old one so you got confused

Long Game 105: Obliteration
Hoid Slayer replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
To some degree, yes - but generally no. Previous Conversion games the Elims have a limited number of total conversions, otherwise there'd be no way for the Village to win against an Elim team that regularly does their Conversion. Huh. I hadn’t thought of that. My point is we can’t incapacitate the doppels; there’s just no way, as far as we know. And as for exeing, is it really worth risking taking out an innocent just to purify our info (something that, again, we will never be able to 100% do)? Our focus should ínstela be on completing our wincon; exploring area X.- 291 replies

Long Game 105: Obliteration
Hoid Slayer replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Whew Okay I'm here now Once again, Adam collected his meal and took a seat around the campfire. In the dark. He listened with interest to the actions of the others. They were already throwing around accusations; Adam didn't know if he agreed with that. On the one hand, distrust would only further derail their mission. But on the other hand... violence was thrilling. It meant something was happening. Adam loved when things happened. His mind flashed back to another night, another instance of violence. His sister's broken body, lying on the wet mud, shattered mid scream. Adam was the first to find her. Only 12, he walked past the entrance of the dirty motel, up to her corpse. The tears streaming down his face mixed with the pouring rain. The blood on her clothes mixed with the wet earth. He reached her, and collapsed to his knees. He grabbed her in his arms, and buried his face in her torn blouse. His body wracked with sobs, a pain so heavy it threatened to break him too. And he smiled. Back in the moment, Adam assessed the others. If some of his coworkers were ready to make assumptions about their peers, he might as well join in the fun. He hadn't payed a lot of attention to the group he was sent with in the first few days, and now that came back to haunt him. But then again, the facts seemed to be that they had all been genuine until recently. Only then had they begun to be replaced. It seemed so obvious. And yet, some of the others were accusing people of things they did before they even had a chance to be replaced. The irony of that caused Adam to smirk. Couldn't they see? If people were gradually being replaced, then the easiest way to identify these "doppelgangers" should be by identifying those who showed inconsistencies in their behavior. Yes, it seemed easy. Adam's mind was more consumed by another subject. Today, he had visited the village with the psychologist, instead of staying behind at the camp again. The rumors of humanoid beings intrigued him; so he had asked the psychologist to make sure he didn't forget this time. And yet, when they had gone, they hadn't found anything. Just those plants. Those stupid plants. Adam had tried to touch one, and it had given him a headache. And then there was the matter of the Other One. Alright. I know I've been a little inactive, but I have a couple key comments to make. Number 1: This probably isn't that important, but it is something I'm wondering. This is a question for @The Unknown Area. TUA's character seems to be getting more and more involved in the plot, even visiting a location. Is this important in any way? Can you at least tell us if this is something worth thinking about? Number 2: Maybe there's something I'm missing, but I don't see any way exeing people possibly helps us. I'm assuming the doppelgangers "corrupt" another villager each night. This means that even if we correctly exe one, the amount of doppelgangers won't go down at all. We can never get rid of them. At the best, we guess correctly and do no harm. At the worst, we kill an innocent person and simply lower our chances of victory. So, correct me if I'm forgetting something, but I think the safest solution is honestly to just always go no vote and put our full attention on solving the mystery of Area X. (This is actually why I find @Ashbringer wanting to exe Wiz kinda shady. But even if I think Ash is a doppel, I won't exe him, cause that would just further worsen our situation). Number 3: Can someone please make a list of everything we have discovered so far? I would do it, but I honestly don't have the time. I think it would just be useful to have it as a resource, and we really need to get ourselves together. Let's say last night, we started with two doppelgangers, a likely minimum number for the elims so we can't wipe them out in their first turn. This night, they get a third member. Now there're three of them. There are only SEVEN players. The doppelgangers already account for NEARLY HALF of us. We need to get our game on. Number 4: How do you know this? Is this related to your ability? Also, if there's only one thing at each place, that gets covered fast. I think its more likely we have an escape-room type scenario, where you use discoveries from one place on another. Which, once again, brings me to the urgent need to compile a list of everything we've found. Number 5: Finally, here's how my trip to the village went:- 291 replies

*hugs hard* *still hugging* *and now too* I’m sorry I’m a little late.I understand what you’re saying. A little. I won’t tell you you’re doing great, because clearly, you won’t believe that. But… just because you aren’t doing great doesn’t mean you aren’t great. And you are great. You’re in the top ten greatest people I know. Maybe higher. And it feels a little crazy to respond to you so calmly when you’re in such a volatile state, but I don’t really know what’s crazy anymore so I’ll just go with what is. Maybe you do need help. Honestly. Stop fighting this alone. If you already have a therapist and don’t feel like they’re working, maybe try to get another. Explain to your parents that you need more help without telling them exactly why. Just don’t suffer alone. That is the hardest hell to crawl out of. Maybe I can even help you with some of your work (assuming I understand it, I don’t know if I will). And finally, I wouldn’t hate the real you. Would you hate the real me? I know my sister probably would. So would some of my friends. Honestly, so do I sometimes. But I doubt you guys would. That’s why I feel safe posting here (that and anonymity, but that’s something different). So yeah. You can talk to people. Don’t fight alone.

The signal faltered, and Ver finally began to physically freak out. So he tried something drastic. Jidah! Jidah, can you hear me? The signal is faltering. I need your help. Please don’t leave us. I understand why you’re angry. But Lati need you. We… need you. Please respond. I don’t want to lose a friend. Ver finished the transmission, and took a deep breath. Hopefully, the connection was still strong enough for Jidah to have heard him. Now all he could do was wait.

First off, I haven’t been here for a while and it’s late, so while I might go back some other time to answer stuff personally, I have an announcement to make. YOU ARE AWESOME All of you. Yes, you too. And I know life is hard. And sometimes we feel like crem. I feel like crem a lot. But we are here for each other. We are here for you. And, of course, we will always have hugs for any who need them. *hugs all* Now: I feel this. I feel this so much. I do great in school. But I hate it. Because it feels like a waste of my time. Like instead of learning, like one should in a school, the teachers just stuff us full of busywork to keep us busy. I feel like I’m barely learning anything. I’m just having my life leeched away. That is not your fault. It is a problem in society. YOU are incredible. *hugs*

Ver felt a chill run through his form. For Jidah to transmit a signal but show no location, that meant… she was somewhere unmapped by the Cloud. And places like that were rare. Very rare. The end of the world… the Doppels… Primal past selves… ”That… can’t be. We are nowhere near the end of time, if there even is one.” The Cloud certainly never found one… and then another voice, whispering… the Cloud lies sometimes. Ver shook those thoughts away. “And you do not get to dictate how our story ends.” It’s alright, Lati. Don’t be scared. Ver tried to act strong. Hiding the fact that, he too, was deeply perturbed.

Oliver... or Ver for short. Ver spent a while thinking, consumed by his thoughts, and somehow missed Oxy's disappearance. He didn't, however, miss his return. "After all that, I doubt the Cloud will try to stop us from getting offworld. If anything, they would see it as a good thing. My one concern is that our time is ticking away. Our actions will only make the Cloud more eager to complete the Rebooting process as soon as possible. I give us a fortnight at best; we will likely have less." Inside its head, Ver wasn't opposed to the idea of interacting with some new gods. Perhaps they could help pull back the veil on his memories... Ver immediately got defensive. "Don't talk to Lati, or any of us, like that!" Ver began to say more, then froze as he realized. This woman was another Primal. Malware, that made two of them. One part of Ver hungered for more information; this pair spoke in terms unknown even to the Cloud. But on the other hand, it knew the danger these beings posed. Eventually, Ver settled on a diplomatic yet firm approach. "What are doppels?" Ver said, turning to Oxy. "You saved us, yes. But if you truly want to help us, then cut the secrecy. You aren't insane anymore. Show us that you're on our side." "And STOP arguing." Ver sighed, then checked his cookie. It gave him a pinpoint on Jidah’s location. He turned to Oxy, and pointed a finger at him. ”You. This is your fault. You and your machinations. We are great full for your help, oh mighty one. But can you not tell we are weary? Please, heed my advice and do not strain this situation.” He looked at Latent, then away. Hey, Lati, Ver projected through his thoughts. I’ll find Jidah. Everything is going to be okay. Just give me a second to talk with these people.

Guys This is kinda random But for a Science Fair project, my group wanted to test the impact of anonymity in teen answers to personal questions And in the anonymous form, MORE THAN 50% answered yes or maybe to “have you ever doubted your sexuality”
