*sends hugs* *sends emotional support* Your friends are worried because they care about you. All this stuff isn’t your fault. There’s nothing wrong with you; you just need help. I’m sure there are a bunch of people out there who want to help you. I want to help you. *hard hugs* Summer’s so close We can make it But we can’t expect it to solve all our problems. Summer isn’t permanent. It’s a temporary solution. Before we find something stronger.

I am the Beyonder. You may call me God. For millennia, I have observed your worlds. The Alleyverse, the Thread, CoderDrag0n8landia, the many planets of the Framework. Worlds of heroes and villains, tales of epics and adventure. And I have observed you. Their champions. Gods, monsters, men. You are the best the multiverse has to offer. You are mine now. ... Okay, so, here we are! I had this idea for an RP, inspired by Marvel’s Secret Wars (although, I will confess, I have never actually read Secret Wars). Basically, a god-like being called the Beyonder collects heroes and villains from across the multiverse and pits them together in a giant arena (Battleworld) for his own entertainment. And I thought... well... what if we did Secret Wars, but with the characters of our own RPs. The characters can be from any RP, old or ongoing, and from any point in the RP. If you want to submit a character to partake in these Secret Wars, they should follow this format: Name: RP: (ex: TLT, Destiny United, Fellowship of the Thing) Species: (ex: Human, Dragon, other) Abilities: Quick backstory: Anything else I should know: There are no limits to the type of character you can pick, but any characters that are blatantly overpowered compared to the rest will probably receive some form of check on their powers in Battleworld. To make things more interesting, these Secret Wars won’t be just an all-out fight, rather each character will receive a specific mission (I'm still working on the plot). And that’s it! Let me know if you have any questions. I’ll close the signups once we get a good amount of participants. Long Game 105: Obliteration
Hoid Slayer replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Young Adam had done his best to block out the witch's wrath. He had covered his ears, curled up in a corner of the room, wishing nothing more but for her fury to end. For her gaze to soften, to stop burning. Wished for things to go back to the way they were. His sister had fought the witch. She had hurled her own fury, one not of pain but righteousness. She had stood no chance. The witch turned her attention to Adam, and he felt the fire rush through his veins, but it never burst through. He wanted to fight back, but he couldn't. So instead, he just did as the witch said. As he got up and walked out of the room, he heard a crash from behind him, and the screams. He should have turned around, should have done something. But the fire within him was gone. So all he could do was leave, turn his back on his defender, and let the dark envelop him. ... In the present, Adam made a different choice this night. He didn't move to sit alone, as he had every day before. Instead, he walked over to the others, intent on making his voice heard. For now, he had something to say. "I did not leave. I visited the island. And I found something that I believe changes everything." So, guys, I don't want to divulge too much, but suffice it to say that, yes. I believe I'm finally on track to discover something big about Area X. I'm going back to the village tomorrow, following a lead from the Island (I basically got told I can now find something at the village). I suggest other people visit the island as well. @Quivil, I don't think you should return to the village. As I said earlier, I don't think the same people should visit the same place, unless you have a good lead (like I do now). Instead, I suggest you check out the Island. Maybe you'll find something like what I did. The comments about TJ and the lighthouse are ominous, and I suggest a couple people go check out the lighthouse. Finally, I have come to a realization. If there are various wincons that can be discovered... then that means that the doppelgangers aren't necessarily a direct foil to the people who must discover the secret of Area X. Instead, they might have a different goal. We still don't know exactly what they need to do to win; maybe we're getting all of this conversion business wrong. And a slightly more worrying possibility; if we can change our wincon, then perhaps the "find the secret of Area X" wincon isn't really... real. It's just a stand-in until we find another wincon to win by. It might not even be achievable. In that case, I should probably just take advantage of my coast wincon and win easily. But that would be boring, now wouldn't it? So I think I'm sticking around for now, and keeping that as a backup.- 291 replies

Long Game 105: Obliteration
Hoid Slayer replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ooh, that's interesting Yeah, that's the same thing I found, but I wasn't sure if I should go around advertising it I assume the two boats means only two people can win this way, even if more than two people have the wincon Me and Polly just did. See above. Forgot to address this earlier, but... what? You literally said we should ignore the doppels, and now you suggest voting out Wiz for suspicious behavior? If he's acting funny, then let's play it safe and just take his info with a grain of salt. Express discontent, pressure him, but don't vote him out. Cause if we do that and we're wrong, the doppels are one step closer to winning. Of course, I don't even know whether I should be too worried about the doppels anymore, with all this business of new wincons. It's not about discovering "your" secret wincon, it's just about getting lucky with the exploration Speaking of the exploration: Seeing as as far as I can tell, we have zero information about the island, that's where I'm heading now -
Long Game 105: Obliteration
Hoid Slayer replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Hidden *sigh* This is exactly what I was worried about. TJ likely discovered a new wincon for himself, and fooled us into helping him win. In voting him out, we played right into his hands, and helped the doppels by reducing their enemies. Yes. We want more info. I’ll release an updated version of the chart of everything we know later. YESSSSS. THANK YOU. NOOOOO In all seriousness, you’re right, I did find something else at the coast. I found a new wincon, like TJ did. But I swear I am ignoring it entirely; my primary focus is on helping the team. I’m saving my new wincon as a last result. Me and Polly went there last time. I, at least, found nothing except for that new wincon. Sorry for that. I accidentally hid my first post and copy pasted -
I was thinking of art as simply content that is created to be visually pleasing or evoke a message. Although of course, that definition is really vague. While AI art can be manipulated by a human hand, and is thus then a form of human expression, it is not of the same… category as hand drawn art. Comparison is alright, and yes, even inevitable, but my point is that these differences should be kept in mind. No problem

"Yes, the Family. Like the Fox, and Dazh. The local deities of this world." Ver turned to him as soon as he noticed the man. He automatically assumed that it was him who had failed to notice the man arrive in all the recent tumult, and pretended that he had known of his presence. "And you are...?" "NO! Do not go!" Ver did his best to look threatening, dimming his color and amplifying his voice. Ver stood puzzled, as the being returned, and began to explain something about... "Customs"? Huh. Ver was used by now to learning new things, but he was still shocked a little every time he discovered something new the Cloud had never thought it prudent to teach their agents about. Ver spent a while observing the interactions of Lati and Réva, intrigued by this simple, yet painfully difficult mortal way of bonding. Eventually, he turned back to the unusual being who claimed to know of Jidah. "Take us to these... Customs."

*hugs* I am not a sorcerer or a demi-god. I am most definitely not a fairy godmother. But I know you're awesome. Honestly, I have fantasies like this all the time. Not the getting turned into a tree part, but I do imagine an omnipotent being or something coming down and just telling everyone how hurt and how strong I am, however weird that sounds. *hugs* That song is AWESOME While we're recommending Citizen Soldier songs, I officially nominate "Still Breathing" Ooh Umm I had to debate AI in an MUN conference So I have a LOT of research and info on that This might be a little controversial, but I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the concept of generative AI. At the end of the day, it's just a tool. The ethical and environmental problems come in its implementation. Generative AI doesn't have to not give credit to the people behind its success; it's the people who create it that make it so. AI art isn't inherently wrong, nor is it not real art. But that doesn't mean it should be compared to human creations. ok... 100% agree with this Honestly, I think it says something about our society that school has become less about learning and more about passing. Always passing, higher and higher. The only thing that matters.

Long Game 105: Obliteration
Hoid Slayer replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Twelve year old Adam had hidden in the darkness. Panting from exhaustion, his back had ached against the grainy plaster wall of the outside of the motel. The events of the recent past had raced through his mind; no, his mind had raced through the events, pulled down by the current, reaching for a handhold. But all it had found was screams. The screams. The blows. And then the order. Then came the thump. It was preceded by the breaking glass, and followed by a bitter silence. Terrified, panting, soaked, Adam had gone to investigate. And found a wave so deep it finally drowned him. … Twenty-five year old Adam sat patiently in the communal area, and observed. This night was more subdued than others. As if everyone was scared. Or they had reason to keep their mouths quiet. The reveal of the Linguist had shaken things up. He claimed to be able to harm the doppelgängers, if only they sent him back. It reeked of a plot to Adam. No real harm could be done to the doppelgängers, and it would benefit the Linguist to go back to base. He was a coward. But Adam would not stop him. Yeah, on second thought, that’s a negative on TJ. It won’t be enough to stop him from being sent back, but can we analyze this for a second here? We already established that no amount of exes will ever hurt the doppels. If anything, we’re just disposing if a valuable asset in TJ.I don’t care if he’s turning into a doppelgänger; a flawed source is still better than none. I’m going no vote. Maybe TJ even has a new wincon that allows him to win by getting sent home, and we’re just playing into his hands. On the topic of doppels: right now, I’m sus of anyone who isn’t giving reports. That means @KelsierApologist@RoyalBeeMage@The Wandering Wizard, and definitely @Quivil -

Aww, man *hugs* I feel you. Kahoots are all fun and games until the class becomes a riot. It does bring back some really good memories though… There was this one time in sixth grade when I was in a Spanish class with this guy I hated. He was basically your classic jerk. We were always competing, but I was known as the smart kid and I always won cahoots. One day, we did this one Kahoot and it got really competitive, cause the two of us were neck and neck ahead of everyone else for the whole game. He was over the top, screaming, and I was just sitting there silently. Eventually, he got the lead… until the last question. As soon as the question came up, I immediately knew the answer, so I clicked it instantly. Since I had time to spare, I looked over at this guy’s computer, just in time to see him select his own answer… the wrong one. And for some reason, at this point, I just started laughing. I just couldn’t hold it in, so I was laughing in front of the whole class. He asked me why, and I told him, and I just got to see his face sink as he realized. I was going to win, again, and there was nothing he could do about it. I kid you not, in like the ten seconds until the answers were closed, he literally threw himself on the floor and started screaming. It was one of the best moments in my life. *hugs* I don’t really know what advice to offer you, so I’ll just send you all the strength I can. *Sends strength* You got this. Those numbers don’t define you. *Sends luck* Life is full of crem. We persevere! o7 Aaaaaaaaaaaaah that’s awesomeeeee!!!!!!! Honestly, I just set got into that band recently and their music is amazing! So happy for you! Honestly, I was also a little shocked by the height difference But that guy is just really tall

Long Game 105: Obliteration
Hoid Slayer replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I... *big, dramatic pause* Shall make a a longer post tomorrow morning But for now, I support TJ's idea Also, I suspect that at least one of the doppelgangers in question (of which I suspect there will be four of, at least, by the end of this turn) is Quivil. Also, we're still missing a lot of reports @RoyalBeeMage@Quivil@KelsierApologist@The Wandering Wizard -
Ver's soul sank. It sank, and it wallowed at the bottom of its pit for a while. Until eventually, he lifted his head back up. This was the group that had defied the Cloud. That had fought the most powerful civilization in the Framework, and won. They were not ending like this. They had to find Jidah. It would be a detour, yes. It might push billions of lives closer to the edge of the precipice. Technically, they didn't need her for their plans. This planet didn't need her. But Ver did. And he wasn't fighting anyone without her. Thoughts raced through Ver's mind, and he fought to isolate the most important information. "Jidah mentioned something about beings known as 'Sennights'. And wherever she went, it is somewhere away from the Cloud's influence. Only gods are capable of such feats... perhaps the Family will know something of her potential whereabouts. It is the best lead we have." He looked at Oxy. "Apologies for my brashness earlier. I am still new to matters of the heart, and I allowed my emotions to overwhelm me. Any guidance on your part would be much appreciated."

Long Game 105: Obliteration
Hoid Slayer replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
No hard feelings I’m especially interested in seeing what TJ found I, personally, was forced along to the coast by Polly, and I didn’t really find anything interesting As we trudged up the coast, it all seemed really nice and beautiful, almost creepily perfect After that, we just returned to base I suggest we all share experiences here as son as possible, so we can get to calculating our next move -
So
Folks
I just went and watched Thunderbolts with my family, and it is…
*drumroll*
Absolutely insane! But in a good way! It’s crazy! It’s honestly the best marvel project in a really long time (might even be my favorite ever), and there’s a really good mental health aspect.
Basically, I don’t want to spoil, but you all should definitely go watch it

Long Game 105: Obliteration
Hoid Slayer replied to The Unknown Medallion's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I understand your angle here, and I get why you might be a little tired, but I don't think we should let player disagreements get in the way of completing the mission. Another thing, before I get on to the long part: can we have as many people as possible share what their special abilities are? That would really help us optimize our exploration. So far, we know I (anthropologist) can discover someone else's ability in tent searches (although I'd rather they just share it openly), Polly (biologist) can bring people to a location, and TJ (linguist) can decipher text or something. That would really help us plan stuff better and get to the bottom of this. I'm also quite sus of @Quivil's argument that there is only one thing at each place, as that seems clearly inaccurate. However, I do believe that the same person shouldn't search the same space multiple times. Below, a compilation of Everything We Know, color coded by Who Found It:
