  1. I agree with KnightSkye And I also really don't think the legalism is really prevalent enough to be a problem; I hadn't really noted it as a consistent trend The biggest example I can think of is Stormlight, and while it took me a while to understand, following book 5 it made a lot more sense as an important part of the plot The only potential issue I see is this: In a way, the legalism is kinda necessary. Brandon has put himself in a somewhat uncomfortable position where the power dynamics in many stories are absurdly skewed; without something like the legal mechanics in Stormlight, the good guys would stand literally zero chance against Odium. Shards are just too OP to be fought in what you call an "organic" manner So, unless the bad guys get severely nerfed in some other form, I think the legal mechanics are here to stay, for good or bad
  2. Side note is it just me or is SE really slowing down? Like I know it’s changed a lot since it’s early days Back then, two games ran at once, and still the suggested amount of players for an LG is more than 20 - a number we can pretty much only dream of now 3 and a half days ago, I sent a PM to the 8 player Game Balance Committee - which has only been read by the two of them that have been online since then. Many of them haven’t been online in quite a while. Wait Maybe I should be saving this rant for the game

  7. Because he had a beautiful rep level But alas, we learn the hard way that convincing people to restrain from repping us is impossible We're just TOO likable
  8. I know I know Oop Yup, you need sleep And therapy And sleep Listen, your feelings are valid But this is not the way to use them Channel that passion into debate, trying to convince them with words Sure, that might not work But I can assure you that violence definitely will not work It will just cause more pain And if I can just be honest a second Crap argument Crap argument and you know it Understandable, but absolute crap I’m not against you Your friends aren’t against you There must be people in your community that aren’t against you And if there aren’t… then show them why they shouldn’t be You hear that voice inside of you? The part of you you like? It’s there for a reason. Listen.
  9. Nope Nope, you don’t Maybe But I do Not with violence you ain’t You’ll just build more They’re gonna be glad they tore you out of that relationship before you became even more insane, which, yk, ain’t good for your cause Look, you’ve clearly got a load of emotions running through your veins right now, many of them justified But justification doesn’t make them logically sound to act upon Here’s my suggestion: Go to bed. Sleep. Give it a rest. Tomorrow, things may not be better, but you might feel a little better. And think again. Honestly.
  10. Bruh whoever repped that is EVIL @KnightSkye Reforged @Kansas Stormcursed I SEE YOU
  11. Personally, I wouldn't be entirely honest about this with my parents - not, like, in a lying way, but in more of a dumbing it down way It depends on how good your parents are about all this but I would keep it at like bisexual I know a lot of people in that generation struggle to understand this kind of stuff; like, my mom is super accepting and everything, but a while ago she just couldn't understand that one of our "girl" friends who liked dresses was a trans guy (she still hasn't accepted it, we've just kinda moved on and avoid that discussion) But if you really want to I would just try to say that you were wrong earlier, and this feels right now
  12. *squeeze* It's allowed Squeeze to @KnightSkye Reforged as well I can only imagine how horrible this all is for you, but... if you lash out, how does that make things better? I get that you want to release, but that won't fix the situation - it'll only make you look crazy and worsen things for you OMG OMG OMG THE REP LEVEL
  13. @IcedOutPenguin?

  16. Signing up as Weaver, a young cult figure in the Undercity Age: 19 Backstory: Weaver’s backstory is shrouded in mystery. The Undercity circulates with rumors and lies. This is the truth: William Furthington was the third child of a small noble family up Topside. He was destined for a comfortable life of mediocrity, spending his years in a safe boredom. 14 years ago, William Furthington went missing. He was kidnapped by a small-time Undercity Crime Lord with a vendetta against the Furthingtons, with the intent of ransom. An investigation was launched, and eventually, the gang that took William was found and slaughtered. William was never found, and was presumed dead. He survived. Five year old him had run from the gunshots and hidden in the slums of the Undercity. Over the next 14 years, William traded master for master. After a few torturous months, he was found by Everton, a powerful yet benevolent Crime Lord who took in several serving boys who ran his errands. Everton was murdered by rivals. William - going by Will - served in a bar for a while, counting checks. The bar burned down. So Will grew up. After a while, he gained renown for his brain. He served as scribe, accountant, analyst. Sometimes, he would get paid. If he was lucky. At night, he would dream of Topside at first. But the people that surrounded him would never allow him to escape, and he ceased to dream. Eventually, Will ended up working for a Crime Lord dealing in dangerous Vextech. One day, something at the factories went wrong, and a massive Vextech explosion blew it all to smithereens. More than a hundred died. Corpses and red smoke littered the horizon. And, at the center of it all, in a sea of wreckage, a single man lay untouched. The accident had left him with a glowing red scar resembling a spiderweb over his left eye - an eye that glowed with the embers of flames. That night, Weaver was born. When the man awoke, he was surrounded by a shocked crowd. And filled with a vision. That was two months ago. Since then, the figure known as Weaver has grown a cult following, carving out a space for himself in the Undercity and challenging the regimes of the Crime Lords. And he has made ripples up Topside by claiming to be the lost Furthington heir after the death of the Lord and his two eldest in an aircraft accident. His followers believe him to be touched by the Divine, a fallen angel or Christ-like figure. They miss what he truly is. Just a man, walking a tightrope. Not ready to fall.
