  1. How about this as a placeholder: Elaborately Acronymed Stormlight archive Year. EASY
  2. I often watch shows or read books aimed for younger audiences (Spongebob) and watch many shoujo and josei series. I don't go out of my way to tell people about this, but if someone asks me to recommend an anime series, they will often be one of my first recommendations. I think you just have to learn that there are a lot of people who act like jerks, but there are even more who share your, or other potentially embarrassing interests and more still who really don't care what people are watching/reading.
  3. Elite: Dangerous, Elder Scrolls Online and maybe Persona 5
  4. Is physical contact required for a reverse lashing? Because if not, a much more efficient use of stormlight would be to perform a reverse lashing on someone and throw lots of sharp pointy things at them or a few big heavy things.
  5. But stone or metal bridges make more sense generally, even if they are only close to the warcamps, because they require much less maintenance and very little repair work after highstorms. This subject was also raised in the bridge specifications page and the arguments against basically boiled down to: too expensive, highprinces would not do it because it levels the playing field and allows everyone to get to most plateaus pretty quickly, the Ardentia would not allow their soulcasters to be exposed, or nobody has thought of it. EDIT: here is the link http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/5213-bridge-specifications/?hl=%2Bbridge+%2Bspecifications
  6. Does anyone have the online beta and if they do, how good is it?
  7. Please tell me that this has to do with some kind of financial reward for disturbing or not disturbing Parshendi corpses.
  8. Plus the book doesn't come out until 6th March in the UK
  9. I ordered from Amazon.com to the UK and the shipping said that it was 8-14 days after release, so it's probably the same for the bookdepository.
  10. Does this mean that we will have to invent a new kind of binding when the Stormlight omnibus comes out?
  11. Unless some kind of shardic influence was going on. I'm almost certainly wrong though. I forgot that you can see several moons per night on Roshar, I thought that it was one moon per night and they changed with seasons.
  12. He walked to Urithiru which is supposedly impossible to walk to so we can't work out how far he walked from that.
  13. The Windrunner in question would die before it got anywhere near a singularity.
  14. In the UK at least, Gollancz split WoK into two parts and presumably they did the same in India so they could do it again.
  15. The bridges are about 30ft long, so if the map of the Shattered Plains was to scale, it would be tiny. The chasms are probably exaggerated in size to make them more noticeable, like mountains in standard fantasy maps.
  16. Was the magic system for Mistborn Prime similar to that of Warbreaker? I seem to remember seeing Hightenings in the extract.
  17. Sorry, I meant that one of the planetary objects which Rosharans call moons might be a gas giant. In this case, Roshar would be the moon.
  18. Just out of interest, where are the 17th shard severs based?
  19. About the magnetic field, I thought that one of Roshar's moons might be a gas giant which shelters it against solar wind and radiation. I have no evidence, but it is possible.
  20. Nyanyanyanyanyanyanyanyanyanyanyanyanyanya dated Jeseses 1174 subject, strange flying small quadruped, may be a radiant.
  21. I thought that south and north were just relative to the highstorms.
  22. There aren't any volcanoes shown on the map or mentioned to my knowledge. Therefore, Roshar may well not have a molten and/or iron core and could be the same size or larger than the earth because of its lower density. The lack of a molten core also suggests that either the core was once molten but now the planet is tectonically dead and that the gemstones outside the great shells are naturally occurring or that all gemstones on Roshar are not created through geological processes.
  23. I didn't say that it was a likely scenario. I agree that his blade is almost certainly an honorblade but I didn't want to say anything until it had definitely been confirmed.
  24. Dalinar is a man of his word. I could not see him doing this. Also, Sadeas and the others would have noticed. I think this was either an oversight (unlikely but possible) or that Kaladin just did not notice.
