  1. There is a mention in the new chapters that not all orders of the KnightsRadiant co-existed. They had their own differences. As honorspren and Cryptics don't get along, I think Shallan and Kaladin won't get along.
  2. I believe since sprens are partly from cognitive realm, their appearance is definitive of the way the person sees the spren. When Kaladin first sees Syl, he can't help but think of her as a 'she'. Their appearance becomes more and more solid and definitive as the spren bonds and as she becomes more in the physical realm. When she was giving that information she was looking at a reflection of herself in the puddle of water. Maybe what her face becomes is probably the way she sees herself, probably thats why her face changes immediately once she turns to Kaladin.
  3. There was a flash of light from the gem on the shard blade when Amaran takes the shard blade. I think the bond was made between Amaran and the blade at that moment.
  4. " One of the men - Maps - stood, holding up his arms, quieting others. It was the time between moons, and so he was lit mostly by the firelight; there was a spray of stars in the sky above. Several of those moved about, the tiny pinpricks of light chasing after one another, zipping around like distant, glowing insects. Starspren. They were rare." This was the exact quote from the book. It's the chapter where Rock gets a shaving blade as a gift.
  5. There is a mention of starspren in Kaladin chapter. Two stars chasing each other in middle of night between the moons.. Hmm... I wonder if there is any implication to that!!
  6. WoK chapter: Darkness Unseen: Quote " Gaz continued to watch over Kaladin's crew. And still that darkness waited for him. Like an itch that couldn't be scratched. Like a scream that couldn't be silenced. A tingling numbness that he could never be rid of. It would probably follow him even to death." /Quote Maybe it's nothing. But having the chapter named Darkness Unseen makes me curious if something is happening there with Gaz.
  7. 15mins for the next glimpse?
  8. There is a speculation that the Broken one is referred to Jezrien rather than Odium. So either it can be inferred that death follows or can it also mean that the broken one follows/ Jezrien? Can Jezrien or his conscience at least be a baddie? There is also another speculation that all the Heralds are a corrupted state of their attributes! So is Jezrien corrupted leader/protector ?
  9. My only question with shard blades is "If a surge binder is cut with a shard blade will it also severe his connection in the cognitive realm? Will the shard blade also end up killing the spren he is bonded to?" Maybe it explains Syl's reaction to one. But I don't think Pattern is scared of Shallan's blade or is he not aware of her having one?
  10. Voidbringers can retain storm light perfectly and Shardblades were made to help KnightsRadiants fight Voidbringers who can infuse Stormlight and therefore are invested by at least one of the shards. Why make shard blades if they can't harm void bringers who can infuse storm light like Surgebinders?
  11. The review from Goodreads says its exciting and heartbreaking. Heartbreaking? NOOOO....
  12. So Ym should be under Palah?
  13. It was Hoid.. He loves these stuff that make 17th sharders go crazy!
  14. lol. It's that bad huh! Now you should be thanking me for not writing a book.
  15. Hoid is the biggest baddie! He opposed Adonalsium. Now he feels there is no one worthy enough to oppose his powers so he tries to put Adonalsium back.
  16. The signed book is 28$ and the shipping is 62$? It'll be way cheaper to ship it to a friend in US and then have him mail it to you or bring it along when he visits.
  17. Yes, we know Kaladin is immune to the thrill. But we don't know from what point of time. It can be because of his nahel bond with Syl. OR can it be because of the ideals he follows? Kaladin now has not one but two ideals he follows. So whenever he fights, he fights for those ideals and here itself the intent is bound within the scope of the ideals itself, which is Life before death, Journey before destination, Strength before weakness and also I'll protect those who can't protect themselves. So if he fights for those ideals, naturally he will be immune to the thrill as the ideals or the scope of the ideals and thereby its intent is not self serving.
  18. But Syl seems to be following Kal a lot longer before that. Syl says she saw him help others during his time in Amaran's army and that's what attracted her. Cenn notes warping of light while he's fighting, when he is protecting him just like his chasm kata scene. So Syl probably was following for a lot longer than his slave days. Possibly from his time being in Amaran's army.
  19. I was having a re-read of WoK and I came up with this explanation for the thrill. We know these for facts: 1. Kaladin is immune to the thrill. 2. Kaladin might have experienced the thrill in the past (While fighting with Jost) 3. Dalinar doesn't feel the thrill when fighting the last battle against Parshendi for survival. 4. (*Spoilers) Thrill leaves suddenly in the middle of a fight for Adolin. (*spoilers) ( P.S Sorry dunno how to tag spoilers. Much obliged if any of the mods can help me out here) Theory or Speculation: Thrill depends upon the intent of the person fighting. Those fighting for their own needs and glory feel the thrill. It explains why Kaladin is immune to the thrill. Kaladin particularly says he never fights cold or empty, he always cares for those who he fights for. Only time Kaladin feels what seems like the thrill, he was fighting for himself, to make himself seem important with Laral watching or for glory. Dalinar doesn't feel the thrill during the fight at the tower. It is the only time Dalinar is fighting to save the life of his men. He is fighting for others rather than his soldiers fighting for him. Every other time he fights the parshendi, Its for Gemheart. *Spoilers The thrill leaves Adolin during his fight for shard blade. The reason is his motive or his intent. He is not fighting for his glory, They'll probably say he cheated. He has no intention of making a show out of it. He just wants to end it. It's just like the moment when Kal realises that he is probably hurting Jost and feels that what he is doing is wrong. The thrill leaves the exact moment when that happens. *Spoilers The intent of the fighter seems to determine the activation of thrill or not. What do you guys think? Feel free to point out any holes in my theory!
  20. I believe that was only the paperback version. There is no point in splitting an ebook into two or at least so I think.
  21. +1 up vote just for the thought.
  22. Elokhar probably wears it cause he is paranoid. You're absolutely correct, it is a risk to be worn around your friends and family. May it shows the extent of Elokhar's insecurity. Also Maybe Dalinar didn't comment on his plate because Amaran was not wearing it. It would be pretty stupid to wear a full shard plate armour by a person into the camp of another high prince who was recently betrayed by your own high prince, even if they're closest of friends. Also did Dalinar know about Amaran's plate? They always mention about Amaran the shard bearer. So Maybe Dalinar didn't know about his plate yet.
  23. This seems like the full version of it. They may have omitted the drawings and maps probably. Hopefully its okay. Will buy the eBook version from Google play and planning to get the hardcopy from book depository.com. It has free shipping to India it seems. From Amazon you'll have to pay a min of 6-7 dollars for shipping. Flipkart says out of stock for this book. Though I'm still wondering how a book can be out of stock when its not even stocked yet in the first place!
  24. You're right Doc.. It'll be maddening. It's gonna require all my self control just to keep myself out of this site for those few days..
  25. Thanks Peter!! March 6th!! Better get it from Google play first! Cause I'll go crazy if I have to wait for any amount of time. Also the amount of spoilers I'll have to deal with here.. Poor me. I guess I'll the book in my laptop and end it from the hard copy! Soooo Unfair, this life is!
