Will Dalinar learn how Kaladin became a slave, in WOR?
don_karma_II replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
I will be pretty disappointed if Kaladin is the one who comes out with the story. I know he has every right to come out with it. I know he has every right to blame Amaran in public. I just feel it's not right for his character arc ATM. His story arc right now is to trust or not to trust light eyes, so he will probably keep it to himself and let it boil, bringing in an unconscious fight over whether honour or odium prevails. -

Will Dalinar learn how Kaladin became a slave, in WOR?

Once Amaran recognizes Kaladin (if he does), he will surely tell Dalinar that Kaladin is a deserter and coward. Adolin will probably believe him. Dalinar would want an explanation. But Amaran will refuse and storm out of the room. -
Sadeas's wife has a network of spies. Jasnah has some strong suspicions about Elokhar's wife so much so that she appoints an assassin to have Elokhar's wife under constant surveillance. Can it be that Elokhar's wife is one of the spies working for Sadeas's wife?

Szeth has a very intriguing past, but he is running out of people to assassinate in the present. If he succeeds in assassinating Dalinar, then the whole refounding KnightsRadiants storyline goes down the drain and Kaladin story arc goes back to square one, all the while bringing the country into Chaos. So killing off Szeth seems like a very possible solution. But I'm not Brandon and his storytelling is many times better than mine so he could find a creative way not to kill both Dalinar and Szeth.

Forgot that Kaladin can't read. But if someone has to read it, better be Jasnah with a wild look on her face. She looks up from the journal and says we're doomed..

I didn't know Sadeas had a niece!!!

Could be!! Great reason to continue his POV IMHO.

I can see Szeth giving Kaladin jezrien's blade and dying at the end of the book.He also will give the book "stones unhallowed" to Kaladin. Book 3 starts with Kaladin reading the book through the Pov of Szeth. A book inside a book like inception!!

Though Ivory won’t speak of it, I gather that what he’s done is regarded as a betrayal by the others of his kind.” - Jasnah, Chapter 3 WoR “I was forbidden. I came anyway. To find you.” - Syl, Chapter 9 WoR So Syl was not the only spren who was forbidden to bond with humans, Ivory was forbidden too. Hmm.. But still Wyndle and Pattern were sent by the spren to bond with humans!! Can it be that sprens who are more inclined towards honour are forbidden by storm father and sprens who are more inclined towards cultivation have their own choice as mother has given up on humans and don't care anymore?

“Each order reportedly had access to two of the Surges, with overlap between them. We call the powers Surgebinding. Soulcasting was one, and is what we share, though our orders are different.” - Jasnah, Chapter 3 WoR. (Emphasis mine) Who is we? Is she in cahoots with someone else? Does she know someone else from other orders?

upvote for that!!! Maybe I'm not imagining things after all!! -
Artifabrian? Navani?

Maybe they value it for its rarity and don't know the true value of the artifact they have at hand! Maybe it can be used to replicate it's ability and they still haven't found about it!

Wallpaper of Final cover up on Tor
don_karma_II replied to The Rooster's topic in Stormlight Archive
Could it be that the whole art is the moment when Kaladin speaks up the third ideal? With the sky opening up and all. Szeth standing on top of a pile of dead bodies is a bit too cartoonish IMHO. -

Cracked earth near Kaladin's fist might suggest that Kaladin might have travelled a long distance and shot out of the sky to face Szeth like in one of the visions? Would love for that to happen.. -

No, I believe Pattern dislikes destruction in general because Shallan's primary attribute is Creative. So destruction being completely opposite seems completely vulgar and loathsome to Pattern. I believe its the same reason Syl hates killing. -

I will enlighten those in grave error! Will she try to do that with darkness? I would love that if she tried.. -
Jezrien, Shards, and the identity of the Broken One
don_karma_II replied to FirstSelector's topic in Stormlight Archive
I believe that Jezrien is the storm father. The voice in the storm calls Kaladin 'child of honor, one long since gone' or something like that. So it can't be memory of tanavast. It can't be odium either as again it says 'odium reigns'. Hoid says he came to roshar to find someone but instead he is forced to hide from him. Hoid probably came to convince Jezrien to refound the knightsradiant again.- 62 replies

Urithiru, the Castle... er, City in the Sky
don_karma_II replied to Colby Jack's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yes, But they seem to be defending the tower like structure in the centre of the shattered plains more than anything. Maybe they're protecting the gateway to Urithiru which is somehow linked to the the tower like structure in the shattered plains. I also think the tower like structure will be very important to the whole thing somehow.!
