Just how boring Crossroads of Twilight really was?
chongjasmine replied to Luinedhel's topic in The Wheel of Time
It is my least favourite wheel of time book. That is how boring it is. -
I don't hate the Aes Sedais. I like them in fact. If there is a group I hate, it is the seafolks or seanchans. I find the seafolks overbearing and the Seanchans' concept of slavery disgusted me.

"Do not…do not kill me." She trembled in fear, holding tightly to a book. The assassin's face was blank, expressionless. His eyes were lifeless, void of a soul within. He was made for one mission, created for one purpose, trained for one function. The tip of his gun continued to point at the young lady that was before him. Kill. 757, your mission in life is to kill. The words that were repeated into his blank mind echoed again and again. "I… have a secret that can change your life…"Bang. Emperor Number Infinite was standing at the stage, facing a crowd of more than a million expressionless people, all dressed in similar identical gray factory made clothes. "For the first time in the history of planet 345, we had created one billion factory babies within 365 days with a fatality rate of zero." The people gazed at the emperor with lifeless eyes, listening. "Of these one billion babies, the most genetically healthy ones will be groomed to be leaders and breeders. The remainders will be assigned to be trained respectively to specific roles which we had paved out for them." The people continued to gaze at the emperor. "And on the 25th year of my reign, we will go to wars with earth. We will pay the earthlings back for abandoning us here." The people clapped. There was no smile, no joy, their faces were all blank. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. That was the first sentence found in the book which the dead girl had been holding. "Your name, given name, is number 757. You are the 757th successful babies that survive through your first 5 years in planet number 345." He was given a name for the first time in his 1,825th day alive. So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them. That was how those pathetic earthlings who dared to travel to planet 345 believed themselves to be made? "You were all made in a factory, with a machine. A sperm was collected from the male specimen, and an egg was collected from a female specimen, and the rest of your making took place inside a special machine known as the baby fertilizer." He remembered looking vaguely into some pictures that were taken from planet earth; the planet was so beautiful, with things which they call trees, cows, horses and butterflies, all coming forth naturally, not made in a factory. It was so different from planet 345, where everything was artificially made, from the planet itself, to every single of the machinery tree, and chemically produced food. Planet 345, a round metallic ball invented by the top scientists living in planet earth, was created by the earthlings to get rid of overpopulation problem on earth. The people on earth in those photos were so different from the people in planet number 345. They have smiles, they have tears, and they all look so different from one another, as if they are made by a creative and unique being, not a product from a factory. Through Him, all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. John 1:3. All things? Even factory made babies? Even him? A foreign feeling suddenly gripped hold of number 757, it sent strange water raining down his eyes. "I am just a number. I am not like the earthling. I am made in a factory. I am not made by Him, whoever He is, wherever He may be." He envied the girl. She was made by Him, not in a factory. Not like him. For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. "Does that also apply to me, Jesus? Will you also save me, if I believe in you? Please save me." Something strange entered into the heart of Number 757 for the first time in his life, something he could not explain. "Your body may be produced in a factory, but it is I who put your soul inside," a voice whispered gently within him. Number 757 smiled. "I am a living being." He threw off the gun and held tightly onto the book.

I first heard of Brandon Sanderson through the wheel of time series. I was a long time fan of wheel of time and when Robert Jordan passed away, the series was to be concluded by Brandon Sanderson. I was worried that the series would be done badly but Brandon did a good job with wheel of time. I was glad to read the conclusions to the wheel of time series and also became a Brandon's fan.

Should I sign up for the Cosmere RPG?
chongjasmine replied to Trusk'our's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I think if you want to save costs, you should get it now. There is also no guarantee that the stuffs will be released individually after kickstarter event had finished. -
Elaida, in the new spring, seemed to want Moiraine and Siuan, in particular to pass and attempted to help them cheat their test for the shawl. Myrelle was there as well, but Elaida completely ignored her, Why did Elaida wanted so much for Moiraine and Siuan to pass before they made an enemy of her. Why not attempted the same desire for Myrelle?

My favourite book is the eyes of the wheel. Reason: It is where the story begins. Least favourite is crossroads of twilight, literally nothing happened.

I am currently rereading the wheel of time series. I hope for it to be a positive reread.

Binge watched this in two days, and was at a loss now that it is over! I had never cried or laughed, watching any show before because I know shows are not real but this show made me laughed and cried so much. That is how good it is for me! My mother thought I was mad when she heard me laughing out loud to myself. I laughed when the DFQC said something like how XLH was as important to him as his own body and literally meant it, but XLH totally misinterpreted that he loved her. I laughed at the many such similar assumptions XLH made. I laughed when DFQC counted the flower in the garden being forced to do so, and how he hated crying but was forced to cry because of the link with XLH. I cried when XLH killed herself for DFQC and everyone and cried again when DFQC thought XLH was gone and it was just the goddess and he confessed at the bridge his real heart about how much he wanted XLH to know he was not a bad guy like before. I had not bought DVDs of any drama for a long time because much of the shows are available online now and I can easily download them to rewatch later but I liked this drama so much, so much that I am saving up to buy the DVD version of this drama so that I can watch it even after my hard-drive failed me. I tried other xianxia dramas recommended but they cannot watch this show for me. I love everything about this show. The ML, the FL, the SML and SFL, the side characters and even the most hated guy for me in this show, RH. I loved how ML was so cold and emotionless at the beginning and grew to be more affectional in the end, while FL was too naive and full of emotions at first but grew to be less so as Goddess. I love how the ML sacrificed his power for FL until he became from strong to weak, and because he loved her, became from weak to even stronger than he was before and how FL also became much stronger at the end as Goddess than before. The only thing I don't like is that the hypocritical heavenly emperor did not get his justice. He is still the emperor at the end despite being so cruel and the brother of DFQC got away too easily as well after being so cruel to XLH and forgetting how he and his brother could be together because of her intervening on his behalf. I wished RH suffered a bit more as well, though not **. ** was a war goddess who was DFQC's only opponent and I felt RH didn't deserve to die together with her and get his wish fulfilled after being so cruel to everybody and tarnished her reputation. I though JL, being so selfish deserved to suffer a bit more before getting her sweet moments with black dragon. I wished Danyin could be together with the SML, seeing how she truly loved him and how I felt sorry for the SML that he was left with nobody though he was so kind and noble. I thought everyone acted their roles really well. DFQC was so cool. I don't like his acting in meteor garden but DFQC was cool. I watched the scene when he first regained his body after the body swap when the smoke dispersed and he slowly opened his eyes again and again. He was so cruel at first, wanting to repay XLH saving him from his imprisonment by killing her and didn't do so only because he would hurt himself in the process. His care for her initially was all self-preservation. He was truly selfish at first but grew slowly to be more selfless. XLH was so naive at first but still brave in spite of that. Though being the weakest in the fairy realm and a total coward, and despite being often bullied by the fairies, she tried to rescue them from the beast by luring it away from them. She slowly grew emotionally and mentally, even outsmarting DFQC at times and I really admire her for asking him to treat her on equal term near the end and then trying to sacrifice herself to save everybody that she love. She don't just love DFQC, she loves everyone. She is so cool as goddess, too, being able to hide her emotions so well and managed to deceive DFQC. I never comment on any show before in reddit after watching it but I love this show so much that I must comment my feelings or I will not be satisfied. I don't want a second season, but I do want to see one episode on life after DFQC returned and their marriages and having children. I will also like to see a scene of XLH's reunion with her master who she misses so much at the beginning of the series. Enough of my rant. I am off for yet another rewatch. Ep 38, or special 2, has XLH sent a letter, which had this quote I like very much. Love the universe and love one person. Love one person, and love the universe. That is exactly XLH and DFQC, XLH begins this series by loving the universe. In spite of being bullied, she always see the good in people and in the process of loving the universe, she loves one person--DFQC, DFQC, on the other hand, begins by loving one person, XLH. And in the process of loving XLH, he loves the universe. They are the exact opposite of each other at the beginning but through love, reach a compromise. I like Ep 37 and 38, also known as special 1 and 2. They confirm to me that DFQC returns to life and all is not a dream.

If time and money are not an issue, what languages will you like to learn? For me, I already know Mandarin and English. I am learning Korean. I hope after Korean to learn Japanese, then German. If I still can, I will like to learn Arabic, Thai, Italian, French, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese. After that, I will like to learn Indonesian and Hindi. I love languages.

I like pastiches which maintain original voice or style and looks something like what Doyle will actually write and set in the canonical universe. So no female sherlock, sherlock in mars, or things that go out of characters. Kindly recommend them here, please.

religion How has religion impacted you?
chongjasmine replied to Robin Sedai's topic in General Discussion
Being religious impacted me in the sense that there is one more person I can talk to-- Jesus Christ. And I enjoy talking to Him. I tell Him about many things in my life and pray to Him when I am in troubles. I get to hear Him talk to me in dreams and the bible. Being religious gets me a best friend-- Jesus! -
John 3:16 For God so loves the world that He gives His only begotten Son Jesus Christ that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
