  1. I've never thought that Adolin will die. I just don't get that feeling when reading the books. If he must die, then this will not come too early because he has so much potential. Such a character should not be wasted. He is going to be safe for quite a long time, hopefully. To be honest, I don't want any major character to die… I love them all. If one does, I will probably weep for days :( And I really worry about Kaladin, and if the story of Fleet comes true… oh no!

  2. Oh it's very hard to tell since I like almost all of the main characters and a bunch of minor characters, but I'll try to make a list here :)

    Among female characters:

    - Shallan / Definitely my all-time favourite character across the Cosmere (by now)! At first I was attracted by her drawing skill and quick tongue, but then I find I can relate a lot to her.
    - Rysn / Since I'm a big fan of the Thaylen merchants and their long eyebrows, I often pay special attention to the Thaylen characters appear on screen (I know it's quite odd). So Rysn! I'm so glad that she gets some POV chapters. When reading WoK I don't know why I like her but after reading WoR, I'm deeply impressed by her boldness :) And we also get a larkin!
    - Eshonai / Female warrior is the type I can't resist and I really really like her before she turns into Stormform. Hopefully she will get rid of Odium's influence and finally attract her own KR spren.

Besides, Jasnah the Awesome Scholar and Navani the Great Artifabrian work well for me and Lift also gets lots of potential. In personal aspect, I'm also quite curious about Iyatil, Dalinar's wife and the girl called Tarah whom Kaladin met in Amaram's army.

    Among male characters:

    - Kaladin / There's no doubt! What he struggles for is a big encouragement and that helped me conquer some real life problems. What he represents in WoR made me a little annoyed during the first read-through, but when rereading the book I realized I can somehow understand his feelings because sometimes I fall into the depression just like him. But what I learn from Kaladin is that we must at least try to get healed and be ready to do what is right :)
    - Wit / Since we don't know much about the true nature of Hoid, I'm going to say I like the Wit he plays on Roshar. Perhaps I just have a soft spot for those “witty” characters, thus I always assume he and Shallan make good bantering partners :D Another reason is that he is likely to tell a different story for each book with the help of various music instruments, something like this is my favourite part of fantasy novels. The Wandersail and Fleet chapters are endearing. In the epilogues Wit also makes some interesting comments and I'd love to read them again and again :D
    - Axies / Ha he is a cutie! Though there's only one POV chapter of him, that one is among the most hilarious things happen in SA. Aimian is a mysterious species, which I long to know more through Axies' perspective. His occasional meeting with Rysn also makes me rejoice a bit :)
    - Szeth / Marvelous fighter with scholarly training, who has a terrible past and is completely broken, who weeps when killing… I like Szeth from the very start. Even though he acts strangely sometimes, I believe he will undergo a big character development, perhaps find redemption in the end.
    - Zahel / Absolutely my favourite “new” character in WoR! The biggest reason may be that I often feel protective for those mentor characters in literature. Zahel the Grouchy Swordmaster wins my heart when he first reveals himself, and at that time I didn't even know his real name. His difficulty with the Rosharan language is an interesting spot and every time he says “Damnation language!” I'll laugh out so loud :D Also his interaction with Kaladin and Kholin boys is awesome to read. (Another thing, will he try to retrieve his sword? Can't wait to see that.)
    - Dalinar, Adolin and Renarin / I put them together because I like to see them as a family, a face of the Kholin house who act with honor. Honestly, I got no feeling for Adolin in WoK, but after reading WoR I think I should put him in the list. Really hope he won't take the dark path in the future.
    - Sigzil / This one I can't tell why, but I quite like the pronounciation of his name. (Azish names!) :D Seriously, maybe the scholarly type is my favourite and I get the vague feeling that he is going to play a role in the future books.

As for some other secondary characters, I also have feelings for Rock, Mraize, Taln and Kalak but I can't place the exact reason. Time will see :)

Edit: I forgot about the spren! Sure, Syl is the most adorable and I really wish to know more about Ivory. All of the Nahel spren seem to be an amazing lot.

  3. I've been watching anime since childhood. Though I prefer to read manga, there's still so much to tell about anime! Unfortunately I can't remember most stuff clearly, but Last Exile and Fullmetal Alchemist are two of my favourite =)

For anime films, the works of Ghibli Studio are all quite good! Their art style is sooo impressive! Summer Wars and Steam Boy are also awesome ones.

Plus, the Avatar series (including Legend of Korra) is also worth mentioning, if this counts.

A few weeks ago I finished Ergo Proxy and that is a unexpected geat one! I'm gonna put it in my recommend list. Now I'm watching Silver Spoon. It is really nice XD

  4. I began with Elantris without knowing anything about the author. I picked it in the library and just thought the book titel is kind of cool. After reading it, I'm fascinated at Brandon's writing, then I finished the whole Mistborn series, wanting for more. The next ride was The Way of Kings, which makes Stormlight Archive my favourite fantasy saga ever (probably). After that, I read through Warbreaker and almost all the Cosmere stories I can find. Then came some non-Cosmere books, but I didn't finish all of them. The highlight of this year is definitely Words of Radiance, and I'm longing to read the rest!

  5. Yay, part 2!!! I'm deeply impressed by what you did for WoK and part 1 of WoR, and this part is even more awesome *o*

OMG there're Interludes characters! I'm gonna cry for this, you made my day! Man I saw Shallan & Co., Rysn & Co., Axies, Ym, Rlain, Zaaaaahel... They're all my favourite!!! I really love your interpretation of these characters :)

And about Kaladin & Dalinar's part, it's breathtaking! What made me wow is the first Kaladin vs Szeth fighting scene - the Stormlight effect! It's kind of like watching live action. Besides, Elhokar with a bear? That's the best thing that ever happens to him :D

I also noticed that the expression of the characters is always changing, good job! when Renarin jumed off, he looks really cute!

  6. After reading Elantris I decided to have a look at all of Brandon's fantasy books, then I finished Mistborn but still didn't get the interconnection… (Stupid me) Until I began to read WoK, which is my first non-translated Cosmere book, I found Coppermind Wiki where I did the keyword search when meeting things I couldn't understand, then… BOOM! The Cosmere and a guy called Hoid! I was totally mind-blown by that and immediately made up my mind to become a dedicated Sanderfan =)

Man, it's hard to find clues in those translated copies because the translators and publishers are all different and some translators may even not know the existence of Cosmere, sigh! (It's a bit interesting that “Hoid” has been translated into three different names :D) We really need something like a Complete Guide to the Cosmere!

  7. Heh, Shallan glomping Hoid is my favourite scene in the book :)

However, it's not because I'm shipping them but because it's just so darn hilarious - Hoid is the unflappable all-too-knowing type of the Cosmere and Shallan manages to shock him twice in the same book :D

I really do hope Shallan apprentices to him at some point, though. It feels like a "promise to the readers" at least, since Hoid implies he might be able to help more when she's ready on their first meeting. However, tracking him down and getting him to agree might be a challenge.

There's lots of fun possibilities with them together. For example, Shallan could Lightweave herself as Wit and then she and Hoid could insult people in stereo

Yeah I totally agree with you =) Hoid in shock is super fun to see! (Well done, Shallan!) When I read that hugging scene for the first time, I just couldn't believe my eyes… Wait, what happened?! Then I burst into a long-time laugh :D (And, I like the Shallan becoming Wit idea)

  8. Oh, finally see some mentions of Shallan/Hoid!!! I personally looove this ship, but I agree that Hoid may not be romantically involved with any character from SA. Despite that, I'd also like to see he and Shallan becoming mentor-apprentice or just good friends =) (Some scenes in WoR really made me scream like a fangirl :D)

  9. Lightweaver! Their creative abilities and perhaps non-warrior type are amazing. (Pure personal reason: because Shallan and Hoid are both Lightweavers :D) I'm also interested in Dustbringers, Willshapers and Stonewards and would like to see how their powers will develop. (Man, it's a hard choice!)

  10. Late reply, sorry, folks! Thanks for all of your comments!

I love it! The style reminds me a lot of the stuff in Edge Chronicles. I think Chris Riddel did that, but I'm not sure. Very well done!

As for Elhokar being blonde, yeah I imagine him that way too. But he isn't, Adolin is the one that is. I guess I do imagine Dalinar's face to be squatter too, but there's not that's just me.

Thanks! I did a search and found the illustration of this series is really awesome =)

Ah me too! Elhokar is just so fit to be a blonde guy, but the reality says no. It took me a very long time to finally decide how he may look like because I could hardly get rid of the former mental image. (Actually, he is among the characters that I often can't get right.)

About depicting Dalinar, it is always a challenge for me, because I'm so bad at drawing tough guys... I'm trying to do him a fair work, and I hope I could do better in the late ones =) OK, must make his face much squatter!

As artwork... I like it. I really like it;the style is interesting to look at, and it looks good.

As depictions of the characters... I really like Dalinar. He isn't quite how I imagine him in my head (I picture his face being a bit squatter), but I still like him. I'm not a big fan of Elhokar though, but I think that I might just be working off a wrong mental image; for some reason, I'd swear he's a blonde...

I do, however, love the Last Supper, Judas-esque look of Sadeas pose. Again, he's not quite how I picture him (though I can't recall why), but... the posture and him being behind Dalinar is awesome.

Haha Sadeas is an interesting one. To be honest, that pose was intentionally done for the dramatic effect =) (Judas-esque, I like your association :D)

Even though it's not true, Sadeas has to look like Loki. And I thought that Dalinar had a beard, didn't he?

Besides that, I really love the style of the outfits, they are spectacular and fit the world wonderfully I think. Great job!

Oh Loki! I haven't thought of this before, but it's a great idea! :D

Dalinar's beard problem always confuses me because I can't find any specific description of that in the books. At first I thought that he does have a beard (I used to depict him as a bearded guy.), but then a clean-shaven soldier Dalinar came into my mind and it's also acceptable. I'm not so sure about it. Maybe I'll make a change in the future =)

Is this really your first post? :P I know you've posted in the gallery. Thought you posted here before!

Man, I love this. This is fantastic.

Oh, if that counts =) (This is my first art post in the thread, though, 'cause I think this piece is interesting enough to be shared with you :))

Love it. Sadeas looks like a pampered French aristocrat before the revolution. Totally guillotine-worthy. :)

Oooh this made me laugh so hard! Glorious! :D

That’s cool! I love how you gave each of them their own attitude and really showed their character - I can very well imagine all of those in one room, bickering over politics.

I second ‚Loki as Sadeas‘ as someone suggested - but your depiction reminds me of Snape, which would be equally fitting!

Love all the details on their clothing :)

    Thanks so much :D

Wow you got it right! My mental image of Sadeas is exactly the tan-skinned Snape in French noble outfit with a reddy bulbous face =) But a Loki version is also an awesome choice ;D

  11. Oh good lord!!! The updates are totally amazing!!! I've seen most of them via tumblr :) I'm so in love with those pieces drawn by marker, they look perfect. And that CLAMP style Shallan!!! It made me laugh so hard, reminding me of the days when reading their manga :D Also the uniform design, it made me wow when I first saw the pictures! I shared them with my friends, and they all said the design is awesome =)

  12. Definitely The Way of Kings! It's a special book for me. I was undergoing a very difficult time when reading WoK. Kaladin's story arc gave me so much strength to live a better life. I was deeply impressed by Dalinar giving his own Blade to save the bridgemen. It is one of the best scenes I've read in fantasy during these years. Also, everything on Roshar simply attracts me. I don't know why but I know it does =)

I also voted WoR as my favourite, too, because it is Shallan's book, who is my favourite female character across the Cosmere. I enjoyed her POV chapters very much. Plus, the whole thing in WoR is as awesome as WoK. (Maybe more?)

My third vote went for the last option, since I'm still waiting for Hoid's books and the Cosmere prequel.

Last, I have to admit that it's a difficult choice. Every Cosmere book has its own greatness!
