Yeah I have to agree now. It’s probably Frost, given the consistent wording -

[SA5] What Will Happen to Dalinar?
MerlinArcane replied to Forts Board's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think Dalinar will win. Even if he’s not a focal point for the next books, I think he’ll win; mainly because the end of the world, the end of Dalinar Kholin wouldn’t make too much sense. This isn’t the grand culmination of the ten books, it’s a midway point. I think he’ll win, or at the very least if he loses the world won’t be destroyed -
I’ve been reading a lot of theories on here and reddit and such, and it seems to be there’s a lot of (understandable) hype. But I think we need to remember this is only one half of a series. If Dalinar wins or loses, it won’t loose Odium upon the Cosmere. That’s a way higher level threat than just Roshar, it would involve the other series. Whatever loophole TOdium is seeing, I doubt it lets him enter Scadrial or Nalthis or Sel. At least partially because if it did, and they beat Odium, it would reduce him as a threat to readers. A rogue murdering Shard is way too high level for the other series to handle, right now. They haven’t built up the skills like Roshar have

No I understand that, I just thought there was a quote somewhere from Navajo going ‘wow, we have better fabrials. The ancients weren’t as powerful as we thought’

Yeah I meant like upgrade them to more modern standards, convince the spren and such, that’s what I meant by magic. I thought the fabrials in the Tower were of lesser design? I must’ve read wrong.

When Navani bonded the Sibling, and before when she was studying them, she noticed that a lot of the fabrials were primitive, or of lesser quality than the current ones used. Do we think, with her bond, Navani is able to magically remake the fabrials to be more modern? that, or do it manually throughout the entire tower. If that’s possible, what sort of new things could be added to the tower to make it more useful? We know it won’t be a spaceship, but it could become the beating heart of civilisation again, or at least the beating heart of the Radiant Orders.

With the new WoBs and the new bits from Wat with Shallan’s chapters, do we have any new theories as to what will happen in the story?

But he HELD preservation. That’s why he’s a cognitive shadow

Hello, this is a quick thread about curiosity basically. We know that to become an allomancer, you swallow a load of metals and, at least BC, beat to an inch of your life to make you Snap. Then you burn the metals. Harmony changed how Snapping works because he didn’t like it, so how does one find out they’re a Allomancer? Is it institutional, where kids in school are given metals to try and burn? And how about Feruchemy. Assuming it doesn’t require any form of Snap, how does one discover they’re one? Do you just stop by the Village and the Terris people give you some minds to hold? How do you find out you’re metal born?

Stormlight 5 interlude reading (cosmere spoilers)
MerlinArcane replied to The flying spider's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I am running off a WoB where a commenter notes that the yellow is missing. Brandon says, as far as I can recall, RAFO or that we’re thinking along the right lines. Either way, I think they’re important in some way -
Stormlight 5 interlude reading (cosmere spoilers)
MerlinArcane replied to The flying spider's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The question about the Irali is less ‘where is their next desitiantion’ and more ‘where is their FINAL destination?’ there is a theory I saw where the Irali are perhaps Splinters of Virtuosity, as they’re the yellow of the cyan and pink of printer colours found in Nightmare Painter. if they are in fact that, why are they constantly moving? Why are they leaving? Where are they going? What is their purpose? I think the Irali mother in the interlude will provide useful information regarding Connection & Spren for the future as well -
You didn’t add best girl Steris

I think Kaladin’s fifth would be based around teaching others how to protect themselves. It fits with the old radiant Syl had who travelled around and taught (with the assumption he’s 5th). It’s a more leadership role, a more of a step back. It’s a mentorship, a way to help without coming into conflict. Without hurting others

I don’t think sazed is necessarily done with being HoA. He’s still got that discord stuff

Honor and Cultivation's Contribution to Surges

5 ideal system? -
I doubt it. Tapping is temporary; once you’re stopped tapping, you’re back to whatever age you were before. And considering how you need to age, and immortality tends to be either through cognitive shadow (you don’t age cause you’re not exactly alive) or dawnshard (you have the power of creation altering your genes) it can’t really store what you don’t do. Can a blind man store sight? Probably not. So an ageless being can’t either

I feel like hemaulurgy is very violating, even if someone doesn’t die from it anymore. Unless you get consent, you’re just ripping someone’s soul out. And yes! I am a big fan of creative battle stuff. Alex Verus, the divination wizard is amazing

Oh it’s definitely more interesting for them to be diluted, I just miss seeing a badass Feruchemist like sazed again. Though if I’m honest I want to see someone as a coppermind and some other Metalborn. Copper would be interesting if, instead of religion, they focused on combat/social stuff
-
Tough decision. I’d say either feruchemy (so disappointed it’s been diluted) or surge binding. Awakening is cool but not as fun to me, and I haven’t seen sand mastery yet

Wrong. Ruin was *slightly* more powerful, *becasue^ Preservation broke a formal oath (let Ruin destroy the world). At the beginning all Shards were equal, but they diminished when a Shard put some of their Investiure into a planet, such as Honour or Devotion and so on

Do we think the heraldic madness will ever be cured? We know that Ishar’s will at least be attempted, but what about the other? Taln? Why do you think j their madness differs between each person? Is it a reversal of their personality?

Emperors soul is amazing, I love the way forgery is shown and everything, how the characters interact. It’s awesome
