  1. You heard the Cap'n, you scallywags! To battle!
  2. Yarrr! Cap'n, thar be Pirate Llamas off the starboard bow!
  3. I was born and raised in the Saint Petersburg area of Florida, but I'm currently in Boca Raton for school. I came to know 17th Shard through Eric, whom I first met on TWG. We then took over the Mistborn RPG together, and now, here I am!
  4. Goodness, so many self-proclaimed lurkers on the site! You'd think we had rabies or something. Oh, wait.... Anyways, welcome! I, like you, also became a Brandon fan through his work on the Wheel of Time. I started with Elantris, then the Mistborn trilogy, and never looked back. Don't worry, we're all nice here, so feel free to come out of lurk-mode and chat with us!
  5. Welcome to 17th Shard! I'm Kerry, your local Wiki gal and RP organizer-type person. I personally aren't aware of any other European residents, but then, I don't know where everyone is from. So. Anyways, it's great to have you around! I hope to see you around the forums!
  6. You, good sir, deserve a cookie for that post.
  7. Absolutely. This will be the first place I check for Wiki-related concerns, not the talk pages. All of you who want to contact me, take note! Anyways, thanks for adding the nav links to the main page! Those have already proven very useful, and it's great to see people collaborating on this! ;D
  8. The meta page has changed! You can now find it here. As for format, the beginning of the page should include general, pertinent information, etc. Think of it as a sort of paragraph-long one-shot of the character. Following should be significant events in that character's story over the course of the books, etc. Check out this Wikipedia article on Wheel of Time character Egwene al'Vere for a good general format.
  9. My mother is not a hamster, thank you very much. She prefers the term Mesocricetus auratus, thank you very much. Aaaaanyways. I'm Kerry, and I'm the go-to gal for anything and everything involving the Coppermind Wiki and the Mistborn RP (except Hemalurgy. Talk to Eric about Hemalurgy). It's great to have you on the site, and I hope to see you around quite often!
  10. Now, now. Don't you remember we agreed not to talk about that little incident in front of the members?
  11. Hey there! Welcome to 17th Shard! Don't worry, we're all a friendly crowd here, so come on out and post when you can!
  12. Welcome to the site! I'm Kerry, the Wiki Admin and RP Co-Admin here on the boards. It's good to have you here, but don't be afraid to come out of the shadows and post! We're not just about theories; there are plenty of places where you can just hang out and chat. Don't worry, we don't bite. At least, most of us don't. Watch out for Will. He keeps legions of pirate monkeys in his closet.

    Hey

Welcome to the site! I'm Kerry, your friendly neighborhood Global Mod and Wiki Admin. I also help run the RP, so if you have any questions about either of those things, you can either post in those sections, or you can feel free to contact me directly. It's good to have you here!
  14. Unfortunately, the wiki software won't even let admins rename pages. I'll make a new page. EDIT: Fixed!
  15. I agree completely with the above statement. Still happy to be on the staff, though.
  16. Yarr-harr, fiddle-dee-dee!
  17. Aka, me! I've been looking to get involved with 17th Shard for a while now, and I finally had the opportunity to find my niche (other than the RP, that is). So here I am, in charge of the wiki. It's still under construction, but we're working on it. Don't forget: the more all of us contribute, the better the wiki will be! Anyways, feel free to post here or contact me directly if you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the wiki, or if you want to know what pages we need. I'm looking forward to working with you all!
  18. I tend to create my own "silent cocoon" actually; from the time I first learned to read until my High School days, when I had time, I would read between classes. More often than not, I would be absorbed into my book, then look up and discover that class was halfway over. I hadn't even noticed the teacher starting to talk. So even on the rare occasions when I do read to music, it usually ends up tuned out.

Indeed! I actually thought of a Warbreaker RP back when the book first came out (in physical, purchasable format, that is ) but I think waiting for a sequel would be a wise idea. And you're right, he really does. The worlds are just so unique and captivating, and his magic systems just naturally lend themselves to RPing.
  20. *nod* I was just wondering if you wanted her to learn about Feruchemy, and actually take to using other Metalminds as well. I'm sure the Rebellion would be happy to have a Feruchemist around.

This might need another Q&A answer to confirm, but I'm pretty sure how strongly you're burning the metal would affect the size of the bubble. Just barely burning it would give you enough space for you, but flaring it would take the bubble as big you can make it. That's just my guess, anyways.

    Mistings

Wow, very awesome. I'm really glad you asked; I haven't been able to attend any of the signings, so I've been waiting for someone to get that cleared up. That being said, I would absolutely love to be a Slider.
  23. I usually don't listen to music and read, unless it's either instrumental or the words aren't in a language I can understand. Prime examples are Karl Jenkins, E.S. Posthumus, etc. Also, Blackmore's Night is fantastic listening for when I'm not reading, Leinton. Good choice. I do, however, almost always write to music, so there's that. Even though I didn't listen to it while reading the book, the album Cartographer has always reminded me of Warbreaker for some reason, particularly the Piri Reis disc. Perhaps it's because of the Atlantean feel I associate with the book, but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this as well (and if you've never heard anything off that album, YouTube it! You'll be glad you did).
  24. Indeed it does. Also, go Balance Druids! My husband preordered Collector's Editions of Cataclysm for us, but I won't be able to play it right away because he selected in-store pickup.... at the store near the base where he's stationed. Meaning he'll have to mail me my copy. Oops. XD

Oh, absolutely. And the best part is, that by the time we actually get more information on the world and are feasibly able to start this thing, the community will have grown, and there's a strong chance the RP can really hit the ground running once we do launch it.
