  1. Just a smidge. And by better, we actually mean luckier.
  2. The most I can crochet are a few simple chain stitches. My mom was supposed to show me more but she hasn't yet. Ah well.
  3. It's working just fine for me. Maybe it was undergoing maintenance when you were having difficulties.
  4. Cool, I'll have to look into that. Thanks!
  5. Well, to be fair, they did move pretty recently. Plus, those paint images must take forever. And any regular reader of the comic knows how Allie operates. It's one of the reasons we love her, even if it means we sometimes don't get posts as often as we'd want them.
  6. I've never actually heard of that one. Then again, I'm really not a huge conoisseur of webcomics to begin with. so I shouldn't be surprised.
  7. We can't have copies of our own, but can youtube?
  8. In unrelated news,
  9. Oooh, yeah, that was good stuff. Though let's face it: if I linked every Hyperbole and a Half post that I liked, I'd end up linking all of them. XD
  10. So our dear friend Comatose mentioned the most glorious blog known to man, and it made me realize what a travesty it is that we don't have a discussion thread for it here on 17S. So, without any further ado, I give you: Hyperbole and a Half! Read it, and bask in its awesomeness. To get you started, have a few of my favorite posts: Dogs don't understand simple concepts like moving The God of Cake Thing of the Day: Cords The Year Kenny Loggins Ruined Christmas Soundtrack Inappropriate Read, enjoy, and discuss!
  11. I can sort of crochet, and I've been sewing since I was three. I do mostly cosplay, but I'm hoping to broaden into sewing everyday and business clothes for myself as well.
  12. Good to have you back! Digital adventures await!
  13. I would like to announce that the semester is almost over! Yay!
  14. I have to second Matt's recommendation of Hyperbole and a Half and Lackadaisy. Both of those are so ridiculously good. I also still read Megatokyo, despite its now unpredictable update schedule. It's actually getting really interesting, so new pages are worth the wait so long as you have something else to entertain you in the meantime.
  15. Wait, you saw that? XD As far as ranting goes, has anyone ever worked on a project that you've stared at so long that nothing looked right anymore, even though to others it seemed perfectly fine? Yeah, that's where I am right now. I have something awesome in store for the site, but I can't launch it yet because it looks so bizarre and ugly to my oversaturated perception. So, sorry about that. Darned weird-looking project.
  16. Instead of allowing non-mainstream files, perhaps converting them to .jpg or .png format would be better. Just a suggestion. That would make them more accessible, and it's a bit of a turnoff when one's computer doesn't even recognize the image type without an extra program installed.
  17. I sing Soprano 1 - bit out of practice though - and can play a decent tune on a piano if you leave me to it long enough. Sight reading is a bit of a challenge for me, though. As for what instrument I WANT to play, I'd love to play guitar. And fiddle - not classical violin (though that would also be awesome), but good old-fashioned celtic fiddle. Maybe one of these days.
  18. This is interesting to me, because you're also advocating a crossover cage match. If we do that, we're downright stealing from Suvudu, and as a representative of 17th Shard, I simply cannot condone that. Not to mention, if this is a 17th Shard community event, it should focus on Brandon's characters. If you want to have a serious discussion on who would win against whom in a fight in terms of actual ability in a crossover-type setting, you're welcome to start a discussion thread, but a bracketed cage match should be Brandon-only. EDIT: It's come to my attention that this post sounds a little harsh to some readers. I apologize if it does; I'm just tired. I didn't mean it to be harsh or anything of the like. I was just trying to offer my opinions, the reason behind them, and a potential compromise so we all get what we want. Sorry again for any miscommunication on my part!
  19. Doubleposting, but whatever. KChan323 1:27 am (1:27:04 AM): Yeah (1:27:06 AM): Of course (1:27:08 AM): If Yugi loses KChan323 1:27 am (1:27:12 AM): HE GOES TO THE SHADOW REALM O______O Chaos2651 1:29 am (1:29:44 AM): gasp! (1:29:49 AM): only Goku can save us!
  20. If you like asking dumb questions, then I'm the gal to talk to. I'm a teacher at heart, so I'll be happy to answer even the so-called "silly" questions.
  21. Wow. Okay, first of all, why the heck did I type "interview" there? That was a weird thing to say and not what I intended to type at all. It's fixed now, though. And hey, when I asked him for an intro to the Cosmere, he was very nice about it.
  22. I wish I could give you a better answer to your question about the surprise, but unfortunately, the answer is "When I'm finished with it." I have a lot of work to do with school, and the Super Secret Awesome Surprise is very time-consuming. It's worth the wait, though, I promise. As for the RP, feel free to browse around, and don't hesitate to ask questions. We went kind of nuts with our worldbuilding. I teach Choi Kwang Do, a relatively new martial art that uses the science of the human body to achieve the maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and health benefit to the user. Since starting it, I've seen a marked improvement in my health, including a heart condition. The answer to your question, while I do enjoy vanilla, is CHOCOLATE. CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE. I am a chocolate fiend. X3
  23. Hey there, and welcome! I'm KChan, one of the admins 'round these parts. If you're looking for help with learning about the Cosmere, I'd definitely ask Chaos. He knows a lot about it, and I'm sure he'd be happy to give you an intro. I'd be happy to help as well, as much as I can. Other than that, the General Theories board is a good place to start. And no matter where you search, I hope you enjoy it here!
  24. Hey, welcome! I'm glad to see you here, and making yourself right at home at that. I'm Kerry, and they call me The Highprince of Stuff because there isn't much around here that I haven't stuck my hand in at some point or another. I'm currently working on something awesome, but it's a surprise. As for where the aspiring writers hang out, a bunch of us also congregate around the Mistborn RP, which Eric and I run together. If you like writing, and you like hanging out with writers, and you like Mistborn, you'll love it there. Um, yeah. I also teach martial arts, cosplay, and study linguistics. And draw random anime-style doodles of my RP characters. It's nice to meet you, and I hope to chat with you more!
  25. Wheel of Time fans will be disappointed to learn that the final installment of the series, A Memory of Light, has been split. Again. Brandon Sanderson confirmed in a recent exclusive interview with 17th Shard that the final book has been split into another three volumes, bringing the total number in the series to sixteen. There has been a significant amount of speculation on the part of 17th Shard regarding the use of this number, and rumors have risen that The Wheel of Time may, indeed, have been incorporated into the Cosmere. He appeared excited about the decision in the interview, though he apologized for the delay and assured us that he hopes to have the series completed by early 2020. In the meantime, progress on his other works will also be slowed, though he promised us that the second Stormlight Archive book will most likely hit store shelves before 2015. That is, unfortunately, all the information we have at the moment, but we will keep you updated as more details become known.
