There's a way to do that, but you can't do it in the quick reply box. Click Add Reply, then once you've written your post, scroll down and click Configure Post Options. This will open a menu with a few different checkboxes. Uncheck the Enable Emoticons box, and voila: :D :D :D You have to do that for every post, though.

Thanks very much. Also, I look for Sharders that way too. It's also convenient for figuring out how other people found me, if I don't recognize their name in the notification box.

I updated a few more color elements. Hovers should now no longer be green (or pink, crazy blogs), and I've changed a few things on the blogs section. You might also notice that the user popup box is now blue, as is the search button. Don't forget to recache to view the changes!

This is just a quick update to let y'all know what's going on. As you know, we're always trying to improve here at 17th Shard, and one of the ways we do that is by skinning the forum - so not only does it look pretty and shiny, it's constantly looking shinier! Today's update is about the friendly big blue box you now see floating inside the bigger, darker blue box that was already there. This friendly blue box fixes a number of issues: it contains some elements that were previously just floating around and looking out of place, and it also fixes some wonky-looking background (or lack-of-background) issues that once existed. For example, now you should be able to read all of your gallery comments, not just half of them. Of course, now that most of the site is on a light background again, some elements will be affected by the shift. I've caught what I think will be the biggest areas - topic share, topic jump, and pagination - and updated them already, but I may have missed something. If you spot anything that needs to be updated, just let me know in this thread. Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about that. There's so much in Way of Kings that you could simply reread it and find all sorts of new tidbits you might have missed the first time around.

However, we welcome anyone who wants to be a part of our community, regardless of their personal faith, and if you want to tell us what you believe - like you just did - that is perfectly fine. For the time being, though, if you want to have a deeper discussion about religion, I would recommend taking it to PM, IM, etc. Also, since we're on the topic, half of my family is Catholic, but I guess you could call me more of a generic Christian since I don't really claim a denomination.

Greetings, my fellow artists! First of all, I wanted to let you all know how excited I am to see more fanworks finally going up here on the site. You guys are seriously awesome, and I love seeing what the fan community has to offer. Keep it up! That said, I wanted to remind you all about our gallery. You can find it by clicking on the link I just gave you, or by scrolling all the way up clicking on the lovely Gallery tab at the top of your screen. Not only will you have neat features like comments, artist captions, and a nifty personal gallery that shows up in your user profile, but your artwork will also appear on the front page! At least, until enough people submit to push yours off. We are fortunate enough to have been given the Gallery software by our generous contributors, so we'd really like to see it get some more love. (NEW 8/25)That said, the Fan Art subforum has officially closed, and all its threads have moved to the Creator's Corner board. When sharing your fanart with us, from now on, please direct all your submissions to the gallery rather than posting them in a thread. You're still welcome to discuss your fanart here in the Creator's Corner, of course, but the gallery really is the best way to show us your stuff. Thank you, and happy creating!
