"Okay. Look for the ants and that weird vine." He follow Sharlin, Fawn flitting around nearby. Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned the dangers nearby. If she dies then I can take the stuff she has. But she didn't kill me, so I guess I owe her? His thoughts are disrupted at the sound of the cannon. "Someone already died?" I thought this was going to be a long term survival game. If things are going this fast, my skills might be wasted.

I think people are underestimating the power the given loophole. Taking Thaylen City, Azir and the Shattered plains would cripple humanity's ability to fight back. Most people would be stuck in Urithiru or some small country. The coalition would be over and after 1000 years, Taravangian would come back and easily take the rest.

"I'm not going to attack you" Winter says quickly. He was used to being in danger, but not from other humans. Fawn perches on his shoulder and squawks quietly. "Uh... Do you want to be friends?"

Winter slowly gets to his feet and tries to act non-agressive. It feels like he should say something, but he's not sure what. "Are you going to kill me?"

Winter saw the girls aviar coming and panicked. He tried to sneak away, but somehow ended up tripping on a root and landing right in front of Sharlin. "Uh, hello?"

After watching one the tributes assess their equipment on the beach and head into jungle, Winter quietly follows her, taking care to avoid the dangerous plants and insects around. She wasn't that hard to follow, as she kept talking to herself. Winter could relate to that; living by himself for the past few years, he was the only source of company around except for Fawn, his aviar. Maybe he could talk to her and make a friend and get supplies. Or things things didn't go well, try to kill her and get supplies.

Winter takes in the area around him. He was more accustomed to the forest and mountain behind him than to the beach and ocean ahead. He could swim, but he decided it would be better to avoid the other tributes for now. The resources weren't worth dying for. Better to wait until the initial fighting ends. He turns and travels a short distance into the jungle, close enough to watch the action around the cornucopia, but far enough away to avoid being easily seen.
