Sacrificing Eddie-like game possibility
Lord Spirit replied to ChipsAHoid's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I remember when that RP started. I was part of it for about a week before I fell behind. I think it was partly started by Eddie’s IRL friend Athena who joined the shard for a bit. Also because Eddie is a gamemaker in the Hunger Games RP and was killing a bunch of people. So we decided to get revenge…- 33 replies

Long Game 106: On the Shores of The Black Lake
Lord Spirit replied to Araris Valerian's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Stalking down the streets with a cane in one hand, Astrid Lefflame was in the lookout. The world was falling apart, but that didn’t mean the law was gone. He had been a watchman here at Blackkeep for nearly 30 years, and he had the scars to prove it. He would make sure the outpost didn’t fall under his watch. Turning suddenly, He shot a suspicious glare at a poorly dressed man who had been attempting to sneak up on him. The man quickly disappeared into a nearby alley. Honestly, if you were going to mug someone, you should at least be competent. Shaking his head, Astrid continues his patrol. Joining as Astrid Lefflame, a no-nonsense Watchman. -

I keep getting elim. I’ve only gotten normal town once, so I’m not very good at acting like it. There was actually a mistake that resulted in me not getting a PM at the start of the game, so I messaged Jo and said “I’m assuming I’m village, right?” Nope. I’m a bit torn because I do like being an elim, but it’s less stressful when I’m village and don’t have to worry about dying. Nice to know I’ve progressed from “suspicious, vote him out” to “PoE, he hasn’t done enough to help”. I kept wanting to give advice that would help the town, then stopping myself because it would mess up the elims plans.

Out of curiosity, what would have happened if it ended in a four way tie? Would we all lose?

Quick Fix 75: The Tower's Pressure
Lord Spirit replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
TUO’s analysis is correct as far as I can tell. So I should vote TOW. But I admittedly haven’t done a lot this game. I’ve been lazy (partly because I kind of thought I wouldn’t make it this far). -

I think the math works out TOW. -

Chameleon is fun, although it’s a bit hard to do with four people. I’d definitely be down to play it maybe outside of SE. -

I was leaving TUO, but this gives me doubts as well. If I die and flip village, then you say “oops, I know I voted the innocent for no reason except they didn’t have votes, but I actually thought it was TUO the entire time.” TOW for now. -

True. There is some decent evidence that your town. But maybe the elims decided that in a game where every death is an exe, it would be very important to have at least one elim get as much credibility as possible. Which could explain your votes. I’m not saying I think you’re an elim, I’m just saying that we need to consider every possibility. (I’m still hoping striker is the last elim and we’ll just win, but I doubt were that lucky) -

You seem very confident of your own villagerness. Obviously you know your alignment, but when was it decided that the final elim is between me and TOW? I’m reasonably confident that Kas is Village (or at least, if he’s elim, he’s playing far above my level), but I don’t have a good read on you. You also didn’t mention Strikers vote, which could have an impact. I distrust how confident you seem to be in winning. -

Lord Spirit replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It’s definitely safer to put most votes on a side train. The mercy shot is gone, so as long as the secondary train has three less votes then striker, we’re safe. If we play this right, we win, but we need to be careful. If it comes down to 2 villagers vs 1 elim, the elim wins if either villager has a vote on them. The problem is that I have pretty much zero confidence in my ability to read this game. If you want more analysis of potential outcomes, let me know. -
You should probably mention that this has WaT spoilers.

Can we get back to the actual game? If I’m the next one to be exed (after striker) then that’s fine, but I’m suspicious of Triple B. Striker’s obviously an elim, but Triple B’s initial posts today seem a bit excessive in expressing their vote for Striker. isn’t this game just “Polly gets to choose who she thinks the elims?” I’m in! -

Striker. He’s too experienced to accidentally make this possible for the elims. Add that to his cycle 2 vote that saved TJ, and I finally am pretty confident on one of my elim reads. (If he turns out to be village I’m going to be mad.) -

I feel pretty safe about TUO bring village. If he was an elim, it seems really unlikely for him to clear that many votes on himself when he wasn’t under a ton of suspicion. (Which does mean my previous vote was a mistake). I’m voting Null. I agree with Kas, and even if they don’t end up being elim, they should have more than 2 votes (one of which is their own). The longer this game goes on, the more powerful the elims vote erase becomes. They can erase five votes this turn. Not necessary advocating for ties or anything, but I feel like this has been mostly ignored. -

I’m not going to be on tomorrow, so I’ll place my vote on TUO. My previous votes got canceled, so I might have been onto something. (Or maybe not). Either way, preferable to self voting. -

The elims can coordinate using their doc, so TOW could have had advice from TJ, who has also played more than two games. -

Go ahead. It feels wrong for me to have zero votes with the minimal posting I’ve done. I’m not very good at reading people but I’ve given some strategic advice. Do what you will. -
Quick Fix 75: The Tower's Pressure
Lord Spirit replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I did the same thing last cycle, but we should focus TJ to ensure he gets exed. Once we know his alignment we can make further decisions. Having votes on other people with minimal reasoning benefits the elims more than the village. Best case scenario: you vote for an elim and the rest of the town agrees and would have exed that person regardless Worst case scenario: you vote for a townsperson and the elims pile on that person. It’s better to vote on people we have suspicions on.
