Just had a band concert tonight. It went pretty well, if I do say so myself. Except the SCUDDING 2ND TRUMPETS CAME IN EARLY (I play 1st trumpet).
I had a solo in an arrangement of "You've Got a Friend in Me," so that was fun. I also played a good arrangement of "Beauty and the Beast" which was interesting.
All in all, it was a pretty good concert.

Sharders, I don't like it when people give me birthday gifts. Because if someone gives you a present for your birthday, then you are legally obligated to return the gesture as well when theirs comes around. Don't get me wrong, my friends are amazing and I love them, but... I don't want to give them a present. Same with birthday parties. Sure, I guess I'll come to your party, but don't expect an invite to mine. Mostly because I won't have one, but still.
Maybe I'm just being weird.
In other news, I got Arcanum Unbounded for my birthday, which is a fine addition to my collection. Now I'm only missing three Wax and Wayne books and Dawnshard, then my cosmere collection will be complete.

Happy birthday!
I brought you a pass that allows you to never have to give anyone gifts ever.

That’s really great!
How did Canada do?
-
Canada... did not make it to regionals. I didn't actually ever see his project, but I'm surprised he didn't make it.
-
Ahh, I see, that’s too bad.
Congratulations again to you!
-
I have an important competition tomorrow. I would really like to do well, so... wish me luck.

Thank you everyone! I am now going on to regionals which is tomorrow, so I’ll update you then about whether I go to state! I’ll try to break my legs tomorrow too!

My face-face with the judges went decently well, I would say. But the other people I was competing against also said the same, so it will probably come down to the project itself.
The judges finished making their decisions of who goes to state yesterday at the end of the school day, but I and a fair amount of other people who were competing had to leave early for a band concert, so they couldn't announce the winners without them being there. So I'll find out today. At the end of the school day.
In other news, my band concert went well!
And no, I didn't break any bones.

It would be pretty depressing if a kid who didn't have any legs tried to sing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes."
-
Sometimes, I worry I'm not the person everyone thinks I am.
My friends all assure me that I'm being silly, that they know I'm a great person. But I still wonder if they are wrong. So many people think me smart, and funny, and nice. They say I do great things. What would they think if they knew that he -- the good, reliable friend -- doubted himself?
Perhaps they wouldn't be shocked at all. In a way, this is what worries me most. Maybe, in their hearts, they wonder -- just as I do.
When they see me, do they see a liar?

Like Thaid said, you’re human. You’re going to make mistakes, you won’t be the perfect person that some expect you to be, and that’s ok.
-
Life is much easier when you learn two things. The first is to love people in acknowledgement and regardless of their imperfections. The second is to realize that others love you in acknowledgment and regardless of your imperfections. You got this Honorable one.

Thank you. All of you.

I have a sibling at BYU, and they said:
“So the computer science and math building has really bad water in it. All the students know not to drink it because it’s probably poison.
But someone sent this in the computer science discord: ‘Discussion in the anim labs tonight was that someone saw Brandon Sanderson drinking it and next time someone needs to warn him because we don't want to be responsible for taking years off of his life.’
Anyway if Brandon Sanderson dies it’s our fault ”So that’s not good.

Hey guys, I’m sort of freaking out. I just learned that I have to play a trumpet solo in less than an hour. So… if I never post again, you’ll know why.

I’m very late but um I hope it went okay!!
-
Hi everyone! I survived. I think it went pretty well for me only seeing the solo for the first time two hours before the performance. So… yeah.
-
Wow…well, way to do it!!

I really need to finish a paper for school, but I can’t write the conclusion. I keep getting distracted and keep on avoiding working on it. It’s a problem. But I am so close to being done. I just can’t write anymore for some reason.
I don’t know what any of you can do, so I dunno why I’m even posting this. Just… shout at me to finish it, or something.

I would just like to say that you are an amazing person and you inspire me so much! Your writing has helped me through some difficult moments in my life. You probably won’t ever see this, but I would still like to thank you for all you have done.
Happy Birthday, Brandon!

I'm happy. My piano recital last night was a huge success. The only thing that went wrong was that my six pages of music didn't fit on the music desk. I had the first page memorized, so I just threw that away, but I had to prop up my last page on a plant. Hooray. But I played "I Saw Three Ships" really well, and everyone loved it.
After that, my parents did this cool Sleigh Ride duet, so I sat in the very back of the audience with a slapstick, then made everyone jump and turn around when I hit it. That was funny.
-
I have a piano recital tonight. I’m really nervous, because at my pre-recital I messed up really badly.
I’m playing I Saw Three Ships by the Piano Guys on piano, as well as We Wish You a Merry Christmas on pianica. Also, I’m accompanying my mom and dad, who are playing a sleigh ride duet, by doing slapstick and sleigh bells.
I’m probably doing too many things.

I've been waiting to say this for weeks:
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, YOU AMERICANS!
Yes, I know it's not until tomorrow. No, I don't care.
Er... that's all, folks.

It’s American thanksgiving. Canadian Thanksgiving was Monday October 9. Today is a normal day for Canadians.
-
I see
-
I wasn’t aware there was a Canadian thanksgiving. What is the history of it? And what are some of the traditions?
-
Hello everyone! I figured out how to do this.
Today I played the piano in front of about 500 people. It was... very interesting to say the least.

Congrats!

Thanks everyone! I guess I should provide more information. I played an arrangement of Toccata and Fugue at a Halloween-ish festival thing. But the thing was, the Halloween festival was just a roam-around thing. So my music drew a large crowd (I don't know if it was quite 500 people looking back on it, but it was still a lot.) It was both the most exhilarating and terrifying thing I've ever experienced.
@The Wandering Wizard The song is called Poor Wayfaring Stranger. And yes, the kittens are adorable.
