  1. (Opportunity to infodump identified) A neopronoun (literally means new-pronoun) is a personal pronoun outside of he/him or she/her or they/them. Some common examples are xe/xer and ze/zem. I'm honestly not the biggest expert on them, but they're typically used by non-binary people who don't feel like standard pronouns fit them. I've commonly seen them be used by xenogendered people, however I feel like there should be a standard gender-neutral pronoun that isn't plural like them/them is.
  2. I'm pretty sure themselves is correct, however it does kinda sound like there's multiple people. This is a problem I've had with the English language for a while now, that the only gender-neutral pronouns we have are also used to describe multiple people. This leads me into a discussion topic: Should neopronouns be adopted as singular gender-neutral pronouns?
  3. When egg is a queer slang term, confusion is inevitable
  4. Hey I think there was this tiny little indie game that released yesterday, seems pretty cool
  5. I know it's been 4 days, but if you have any questions or want a general overview of this stuff I'd be happy to help.
  6. I don't think we're supposed to talk about politics here but just to make sure y'all are informed on exactly what could happen, I'll explain a little stuff. If this is overturned, gay marriage will still be legal in all states except: Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Ohio, and Michigan Does that still suck? Of course, it's horrible. But, not everyone knows the exact details, so just wanted to clear up the details.
  7. Eeee thanks for all the help everyone! I'll talk more when it's not so late, but I have part of an idea on how to refute her concerns. I think communicating just how important it is to me would be a good idea, but I'm not quite sure how to do that, so let me know if you have ideas.
  8. For the first point, no, I already don't want kids, the concern she has is that going on hormones can make you infertile, and that I could later change my mind about wanting kids. For the second, it's a little more complicated. It actually is possible that HRT can change ones sexuality, not necessarily in who you like, but usually how you like them (it's complicated I guess), but the argument I'm trying to make is that I wouldn't care if that happened, and would be fine with any changes that happen. For the third: Thank you so muchhhh.
  9. Hello, disasters. I have a dilemma that I would like some help with. In eight days, my mom is going to an appointment with a doctor to talk about HRT, and it's possible that by the end of it I will have a proscription. However, as of right now, my mom is not completely sure about this (I am, though). I do believe that the doctor would argue in favor of starting estrogen, but I'm not sure she would convince my mom on her own. One of her main concerns is fertility, and while I do not wish to have kids, and I've stated that if I did want kids, I would adopt them, she still seems concerned that my mind could change at some point. The other concern she has is potential changes in the way I feel about sexuality, which I would be fine with, and would even welcome. So I was wondering if any of you had any idea about anything I could tell her to sway her mind? (She's not transphobic but storms she can be close-minded sometimes. I'll update you if anything changes, or if you have any questions.)
  10. Ok I forgot to write the poem, I might get to it later, but anyway A kid in my theater class just came out as a trans girl. That's the fourth trans person in my theater class, more than any other class I have. Does that say something about us?
  11. Hmmm, I've already written like 10 poems, I'm much better at this than drawing. I'll write some GAY later
  12. I literally stole one of them (But really, I just type out random things until I see a sound I like, and then I find a way to put the sound in the name.)
  13. Alrighty! So, it all takes place in this evil empire type kingdom called Xefleara, and one of the ways they've stayed in power so long is by creating a rebellion that actually works for the empire, to attract and prevent any actual resistance. Mai was born into this rebellion, where she had a very difficult childhood. Both because the rebellion was attempting to groom her into a perfect warrior, and because both the empire and the rebellion are homophobic, and she gay. Eventually though, she meets (legally distinct) Shai, a woman who opposes both the empire and the rebellion, who is trying to convince others that the rebellion helps the empire more than it hurts. Mai decides to join her in her cause, and flee the rebellion. A month later, Mai is thinking about how in love she is in with Shai, who she believes to be on a date with a man. As it turns out, however, Shai was actually on a date with a woman. However, said woman was actually an assassin from the rebellion who was planning to kill Shai. Mai stops that, and comes out to Shai, since she now knew that she was also gay. Then a bunch of other cool stuff happens but that's all the gay stuff.
  14. Alrighty let's try our hand at this. ... Oh dear that's terrible. This is Mai, and though she looks like an old lady in the drawing, she's actually 22, and she's hella gay. She's partner in crime and love with Shai (legally distinct character from the protagonist of The Emperor's Soul), and has been living with her for two years now. I'd be happy to loredump more if any of y'all wanted.
  15. X represents time, here are the stats for pride month Levels of gay=x^999 Levels of gender: 999^-x Levels of queer: Infinity
  16. Hollow Knight is also a myth. We all just hallucinated Team Cherry into existence.
  17. I've got up to heat 32, haven't really bothered much after that, since I'll have Hades II to play. (Also wait, why does it use Roman numerals in the title if it's about Greek times?)
  18. Hades is a peak game, and I'm excited for the sequel (I'm not spoiling myself with Early Access) I honestly enjoy indie games more often than AAA games and mainline games (Not sure what to call them really). Among my favorite games (in no particular order) are Undertale Deltarune Celeste Terraria Hades Slay the Spire Enter the Gungeon And those are just my favorites. If we include games that I just think are good, it's still mostly indies.
  19. I guess you're probably right, that it varies a little by region.
  20. First of all, the lot of you are going insane. Nothing wrong with that, but it's still happening. It's a way to look at it, but I don't think the word should be used for anything but the sexuality. I certainly wouldn't call a straight trans person "gay". I honestly haven't really seen the word be used in the same way as I'd use "queer" anywhere but this very thread. Edit: Of course, I'll always respect what someone wants to be called. If someone calls themselves gay, then call them that. If they ask not to be called gay, than don't.
  21. Bit of a complex answer here. First of all, no. The word "queer" would be the word used for anyone in the community. However, while the word gay has once meant only men loving men, it now is considered to apply to lesbians, and therefore anyone who loves their own gender. (The name of this thread is kinda inaccurate as a result, but whatevs)
  22. Oh my storming Almighty what chaos has unfolded here? There's usually like 5 posts in a month and now there's like so many. And it looks like people are questioning stuff again. Do I have to do one of my trademark Hmmm lies infodumps/advicedumps? If so, please ask what you need and I'll give as much information as I can. Edit: I've actually just realized how much I do that, and have put it in my sig.
