  1. The council (like 4 random people) has decided, then. I'll draft up an opening post when I have time, feel free to give suggestions until then.
  2. I may be less unhinged then the rest of y'all (at least on the internet), but I'm also a theater kid. I could totally play the role of a chaotic gal if I so desired. ... Anyone wanna make a thread in Forum Games specifically for this chaos? (Feel free to ask me/anyone else for help)
  3. ... y'all are unhinged ... not that i'm judging
  4. Currently the first game is the only one that's purchasable, namely Metroid Prime Remastered for the Nintendo Switch. I played the Wii port, but I hear the remaster is really good
  5. Ehh it's more for the gameplay than the story anyway And the Prime games have a lot of details I missed Also Metroid Prime 4 is coming out this December
  6. agreed on first, I see it for second *Tries to resist urge to infodump* *Fails* And that's pretty much the basics, I've got way more if you want it.
  7. Hmm yes I can see how that could cause problems. Anyway, here's a fun topic: Fictional characters you head canon as queer (canon queer characters don't count) Yumi fromYumi and the Nightmare Painter - Bisexual (Okay technically this isn't canon but I feel like it basically is okay) Samus Aran from Metroid - Queer (I honestly don't know how, a lot of people head canon her as trans lesbian, and while I, a trans lesbian, am inclined to agree, I honestly just get general queer vibes from her. She could be aroace or bi for all I know
  8. smh I just assume everyone is gay until proven otherwise (/hj)
  9. Maybe we're just moving past 1800s language where gay meant happy?
  10. I'm actually reading both of the Orwell books later this year, kinda a shame I already know everything that happens in them
  11. Literally 1984 or something idk (Also if we're going to talk about 1984 don't forget to not talk about politics) Edit: I meant current real politics, not politics in the book
  12. Yeah but Winston isn't supposed to be a "good person," he's just the protagonist (I've never actually read the book, but I know a lot about it.)
  13. *dies from high praise* *revives from more high praise* It's funny, like 30 pages ago, I just kinda showed up, questioned my gender, and became a part of this place. My queer awakening was less than 2 years ago. I have to give this thread some credit for helping me out on my journey (even if an IRL friend I had arguably helped the most) The reason I'm one of the go-to experts for all this queer stuff isn't because I'm super experienced with all of it. It's because I'm a massive nerd, and queer stuff is just one of my special interests (In hindsight, maybe it should have ticked me off that I, a 'totally cis guy' had a special interest in queer stuff). But I'm actually super happy to be a part of this, and every time I help someone, weather it's helping someone discover their identity, or just clearing up confusion over a specific term, I feel real good. So if y'all think I'm that important... maybe I shouldn't argue.
  14. *Me undergoing a crisis after realizing I'm an actually important person on this incredibly niche corner of the internet*
  15. you know I don't think I've actually touched any of the forums outside this single thread in months, except when I want to see what people think about the latest book to come out
  16. Yoooo let's go! (Always happy when I can help) And yeah, I would read the whole thing when you've got the time.
  17. Ooh, is it philosophy debate time? I love philosophy debates! I think impulses are different from actions. Sure it's weird when someone makes advances on someone within days of meeting them, but I don't think it's their fault if they just think about it, but aren't actually planning on doing so. Humans think weird stuff sometimes, and we can't blame them for what they think, only for what they do. Also, what is love anyway? Romantic attraction? Sexual attraction? Does there need to be a long-standing relationship? How long? Can "love at first sight" be platonic attraction? Humans usually do look at people's attractiveness within 0.13 seconds of seeing them, and might feel things based on that. Maybe that's not love, but it objectively does happen. This study thinks there's a basis for LAFS This one is more skeptical, but claims that what people call LAFS is really just an initial reaction to physical attractiveness What I'm trying to get at is that it's complicated. There is no one consensus about how this all works/should work
  18. I noticed a lot of discussion about how people feel attraction, especially it being weird to feel stuff toward people you have only just met, and wanted to put forward my own opinion. I think there's a significant different between immediate thoughts, and more tempered, conscious thoughts. For example, I don't think it's necessarily wrong to immediately feel "I want to date them" soon after meeting something. Hell, that's just how a lot of non-demi people feel. However, the problem is if, after giving it thought, you think "I think going on a date with them right now is something that I should do." Then, I think it's more questionable if you act on these thoughts. We can't control what we feel, but we can control what we do.
  19. Huh, that's exactly 1 day before I realized I was trans. Interesting. Also hi, I'm one of the resident transfems you've heard so much about. I wasn't here when you joined, but it's nice to see another egg possibly begin to crack (egg as slang term definition if you don't know) We'll all be here to help if you need it or have questions or stuff.
  20. Not even close to some of the insanity I see on r/arethestraightsok
