  1. Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed faculty members, honored guests, and the 984 new members of The University of the North Atlantic and Pacific. I am Eline Acker, a fourth-year student hailing from Rotterdam in The Netherlands. It is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you. Congratulations on your remarkable achievements that have brought you to this momentous occasion.

Allow me to share a sobering statistic from last year's entrance ceremony. Of the 861 students who stood here before you, eagerly awaiting the start of their academic journey, a staggering 67% were expelled by winter break. This harsh reality should resonate within you, as it is imperative to grasp the gravity of your situation. The path to success at this university is demanding and unforgiving. It requires a willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve your goals, to embrace challenges head-on, and to persist in the face of adversity.

Before we proceed, let me inform you about an important aspect of campus life. For the duration of your studies, students are not permitted to leave the campus unless accompanied by a special examiner or an authorized escort provided by the university. This measure is in place to ensure the safety and security of our students within the confines of our academic community. While it may seem restrictive, it serves as a protective measure, allowing us to maintain a controlled environment where academic pursuits remain the primary focus. We encourage you to explore the diverse facilities and resources available on campus, as they are designed to cater to your needs and provide a comprehensive learning experience.

Additionally, I must mention that to communicate with individuals outside the university, we rely on a letter delivery system through our front office. Any correspondence you wish to send will be forwarded to the intended recipient. This process ensures efficient communication within and outside our academic community.

Furthermore, I must emphasize the importance of forming study groups and cultivating friendships within this competitive environment. Special exams that require teams of 10 to 15 students will challenge not only your knowledge but also your ability to work as a cohesive unit. Seek out like-minded individuals who share your passion for excellence and invest in these team exams. Surround yourself with individuals who challenge your ideas, inspire you, and complement your strengths and weaknesses. Together, you will navigate the intricacies of these specialized exams and emerge victorious.

In this pursuit, I draw your attention to the government-sponsored smartphone provided to each and every one of you, a powerful tool for communication and collaboration. Use it wisely to foster knowledge sharing, coordination, and mutual support. The smartphone can connect you with your peers, enabling you to engage in meaningful discussions, share resources, and create study schedules. However, remember that caution is necessary in this competitive landscape. While alliances can be fruitful, not everyone may have your best interests at heart. Maintain a sense of healthy skepticism and strategic thinking, safeguard your intellectual assets, and assess the motives and capabilities of those around you.

In this environment of victors, it is crucial to acknowledge the importance of sleep. While the pursuit of excellence requires sacrifice, neglecting your well-being can hinder your academic performance and overall success. Restful sleep is vital for rejuvenation, concentration, and optimal cognitive function. Strive to strike a balance between intense study sessions and adequate rest, recognizing that a well-rested mind is better equipped to excel in the challenges that lie ahead.

Now, let's delve into another significant aspect of campus life - the allocation of points. Every student is granted a monthly allowance of points that can be spent on various items and activities across the campus. However, after the initial two months, the allotted points are determined by test scores and overall performance in the monthly special exams. Please note that the pricing of test points and other items are determined by the special examiner of your respective class.

It is crucial to mention that any student who fails to achieve a score of 60% or higher on any test or special examination will face immediate expulsion. In the event of expulsion, students are sent home without any charge, but the real consequence lies in missing out on the opportunities that await you here. Failure becomes a stark reminder of the importance of dedication and commitment to your studies.

Furthermore, it is possible to trade points with other students through a voice command system on your smartphones. However, it is essential to note that any suspicious or unauthorized attempts to steal or extort points will result in the immediate involvement of the front office. If found guilty, all the points intended for the perpetrator will be transferred to the person they attempted to steal from. Fortunately, expulsion is not the consequence, but rather the students will be restricted to the bare essentials such as free food, toiletries, and other necessities for the remainder of that semester.

While our university does not offer traditional clubs, we provide a range of on-campus facilities for extracurricular activities. These facilities cater to art classes, martial arts, cooking, and other diverse interests, allowing you to engage in various pursuits outside of academics. Moreover, we take pride in accommodating diverse religious beliefs by providing churches, synagogues, mosques, and other religious facilities on campus.

It is important to note that failing an art class, martial arts class, or any other class will not result in expulsion or removal from the respective course or the university itself. We believe in providing opportunities for growth and improvement, allowing students to learn from their experiences and pursue their passions without the fear of severe consequences.

Additionally, I would like to highlight the employment opportunities available at the library and other select facilities on campus. These positions offer a bi-weekly payment of 50,000 points, which is equivalent to the compensation received for scoring between 75-80 on a test. This provides a chance for students to not only contribute to the university community but also earn additional points to support their endeavors.

In conclusion, I extend my warmest welcome once again to new students of The University of the North Atlantic and Pacific, where brilliance thrives amidst calculated alliances. As you embark on this challenging journey, remember that sacrifice and dedication are essential. This university will push your limits, test your intellect, and demand your best efforts. Embrace the power of teamwork, utilize the government-sponsored phone for communication and collaboration, but exercise caution in this competitive landscape. View your fellow students as potential resources, invaluable connections, and temporary allies in your individual quests for greatness.

May your time at this institution be marked by growth, discovery, and unwavering success. Welcome to The University of the North Atlantic and Pacific, where we forge a path to excellence together.”
