I can do that, I think. Maybe? I’m not good with emotional help. I can do physical things though.

What? Why? Should he follow her? Did she not want him around? That was probably it, she just had been to afraid to say it. Edgar sat there, then put his head in his hands. Why was he so bad at this?

Edgar put an arm around her shoulder, unsure of what else he could do to help she was obviously still worried, but he was too, how could he help her if he didn’t know how to help himself.

Gift flowed to her hand, where it became a fidget spinner again. Edgar laughed, it knew what she needed at the time, and this was it.

“Yeah, I did. They died in the rebellion, I’m old enough to remember. Do you?”

“It’s worse to try to act like something you’re not.”

He glanced over at her. “Is everything ok?” What was wrong? What was he doing badly?

“You don’t need to be sorry. I get it, it’s a lot.” He hugged her tight.

“Of course.” He sat down, letting her sit next to him.

“I don’t either…” He sat there, then leaned his shoulder against her. “This works though.

The girls opened a door, leading to a room with a single bed and small dresser. They each raised an eyebrow at Daniel before closing the door and leaving. I know exactly where I’d be without you though.

He pulled her close. “Why don’t you show us to the guest bedroom, where Rex can stay?” He asked the too girls. They immediately started pulling her along. We’ll be away from it all in a little bit. You don’t need to hide, it’s going to be ok.

Edgar glanced at her side and winced. It didn’t look like it felt good. At least she didn’t seem to be hurting too much. “So what now?”

They want you as you are. I want you as you are. If nothing else, do it for me. He sent her feelings of calm and happiness. Both girls stepped forward, grabbing both of her hands after peeling Daniel’s off. He smiled at Rex, putting an arm around her shoulders instead.

That’s ok, just be yourself. They love you already, you’re doing great. “Well I don’t know either,” Lilly said.

Edgar watched her, still smiling widely. Jenny was in her element…with a bunch of daggers. And Edgar was…just there. Again. But that was ok.

Well what? Just look at their faces. They were both smiling up at her. “How did Daniel get so lucky to have you as his girlfriend?” Jane said.

Edgar smiled the whole time. Jenny was being…well, Jenny. And he loved it. He made sure to keep track of each dagger’s name so he’d remember it later. ”Uhh…Jill?”

Edgar smiled too. “Do you have names for each of your knives, or just Sword?” She loved her daggers, and so he did too.

They both laughed. “Jimmy isn’t handsome, he’s cute. Or that’s what mom says. But she does say Daniel’s handsome…” she cut off slightly. You’ll be surprised. Trust me, you’re about to become their idol.

He sat next to her, holding both of her hands. “Is everything still there?” He did glare at Roy.

They laughed. “Probably. It’s ok, it’s not like we hate each other, looking alike is better than looking like somebody Arthur…” they both laughed. ”I wish I looked like you though,” Lily said. They love you.

“The capital, like you.” He grimaced.

They sighed in unison. “Everyone says that.”
