“Yes…” she said tiredly. “Thank you…” her breathing steadied as she fell asleep.

“Sure…” she said hesitantly.

“Yes.” She closed her eyes, her head drooping onto his shoulder.

“Mmm…that sounds good,” she said tiredly.

“No, I don’t think you can. And I’m not cold.” Her grip on his hand loosened a bit, and she leaned against him a little, realizing how tired she was.

“It’s…ok.” She still didn’t loosen her grip.

She flinched slightly, but then tightened her grip on his hand, tight enough to hurt a little.

She gently laid a hand on his arm. “Good.”

“I’m sure.” She smiled more brightly at him.

She gave a similar smile back. Then, slowly, she motioned to the seat next to her.

“Ok. But…it’s true.”

“I…like you too.” She was surprised to find it was true.

Just a construct, though built by a god. As for how you fit in…you need to keep Jenny safe. From herself, I think. Something is in her head.
