  1. “Are you not going to…try Hypnokinesis again?” He asked. He didn’t want her to hurt herself, but it seemed pretty controlled now, as long as she didn’t say that timer thing.
  2. “You’re my hero Elan!” Someone shouts.
  3. “You’re welcome. Though…you still look tired, you might need to sleep some more. You need bed time to rest and heal as much as possible.” He smiled at her again, his smile returning more to normal.
  4. Edgar felt bad, he’d made Jenny feel bad, he could see it in her smile. He shouldn’t have said anything. He should have just let her use her magic. He should have just…not been there. If he hadn’t been there, then Jenny would still be happy.
  5. “Elan, I love you more than my kids!” Shouts a random person.
  6. “It’s…it’s ok.” You have to trust her, you have to trust her. Don’t I also have to tell her the truth though? “You did scare me a little, but you’re fine now, that’s the important thing.” He gave her a halfhearted smile. ”I don’t think it does.”
  7. “About fifteen seconds, I think.” He was very obviously shaken, his face somewhat pale. She sounded a like worried herself, and that worried him even more. Hopefully she’d be more careful now.
  8. Edgar grew very, very worried. He shook her, much more violently than before. “Jenny!”
  9. Edgar waited, getting even more worried. And more upset. He didn’t want to be mad, but…well, he was worried about her. And she didn’t seem to care about the risk. Maybe…maybe she didn’t know how much she meant to him? He’d have to remind her.
  10. “A little longer, though that’s because I let you sleep longer.” Though he tried to hide it, he seemed a little upset and very worried.
  11. He tried not to freak out. Did she want him to wake her up immediately again? He waited a few seconds longer than last time, then tried to shake her awake.
  12. He gave a sigh of relief, and had to hold himself back from hugging her. Instead, he just grabbed her hand again, holding it tightly. “It did, I’m really glad it did. She only a few seconds.”
  13. “I’m…well, honestly, I’m not ready to die. But I need to, and I’ll make sure I do.”
  14. Edgar caught her, immediately feeling a stab of worry. Was she hurt? Had it worked? He shoved down his anxiety. He trusted her. That meant he had to trust that she had done this too, right? He could still worry, but he couldn’t be overprotective. Or at least, he’d try not to be. He shook her shoulder. “Jenny, please wake up.”
  15. “I…I don’t really…” he stopped. He had to trust her enough to let her take risks. He took a deep breath, then continued. “If you think you can do it safely, then I think trying it would be good.”
  16. “Ooh, wow, that sounds really cool and useful? Is it dangerous to try?” He grinned back.
  17. “It really doesn’t matter. I’ll be dead within the next hour or so.”
  18. “What are you going to try…?” He wanted to know before he said he would, he didn’t want her to do anything dangerous.
  19. He looked back, his expression quite distracted. He was smiling though, looking right at her.
  20. He tried to give her a reassuring smile, and he relaxed a little bit, his arm still around her. “That’s good.” He hoped she wasn’t lying to him, but, then again, Jenny didn’t lie.
  21. He smiled back. “Are you going to be ok?” He really hoped she would, if she wasn’t it would be his fault. After all, he’d been the one she’d killed in her dream, without him she wouldn’t be thinking about this.
  22. “I’ll try…but, Jenny, I like your weirdness. Is what makes you, well, you. And I like you. I really like you.” He blushed.
  23. “Oh…” Edgar didn’t know how to respond. Should he press her for more details? No, that wasn’t right. Should he say it was just a dream? She was obviously shaken, so it extended beyond just that. Should he say nothing? No, she needed comfort. “It’s ok. I’m here now.” That should help, right?
  24. “Yeah, crazy.” He seemed very distracted.
