  1. “…Jenny…” he smiled, then grimaced. His eyes were fluttering, he might have seen her.
  2. His breathing seemed to deepen a little, his pulse strengthening. The blood slowed, then stopped completely. “…hurts…” he mumbled.
  3. There was no response, and the Gift stopped feeling warm. Edgar, on the other hand, grew very warm as he swallowed the ambrosia.
  4. Keep slowing the blood with me. Feed him a little ambrosia, he can eat it again by now. Be here with him, you’re one of the only things keeping him here. Whatever you do, don’t leave.
  5. The Gift pulsed with warmth under Jenny. It was doing something, more than just stopping the bleeding, but whatever it was doing it wasn’t helping Edgar more. It’s going to be ok. Edgar’s voice entered Jenny’s mind. But it wasn’t him, not really. It was more like someone knew how he should act, but couldn’t act quite right.
  6. “That’s so amazing!” someone shouted.
  7. He mumbled in his sleep again, shuddering. He gave a cry of pain, though it was hard to tell of it was a conscious cry or not.
  8. He didn’t seem to respond to the magic, he was wounded too much for the magic to affect him, at least not visibly. But when Jenny spoke, he gave the slightest of smiles. “I’m…coming…” @Lunamor
  9. The Gift flowed around Jenny, helping staunch the blood flow. “Couldn’t…help. Failed…her,” Edgar mumbled in his sleep.
  10. He swallowed it, but it didn’t seem to make very much of a difference.
  11. He was unresponsive, but he was breathing and he had a pulse. He was in very bad shape though, and still losing blood.
  12. “Yeah, let’s hope.” He followed her.
  13. “Sure.” He shrugged.
  14. “I’m not going to waste your little food supply.”
  15. “Yes, until you kill me.”
  16. “Until you kill me.”
  17. “That’s impossible. I have a couple hours left, then I need to die. Your policy is irrelevant here.”
  18. “You don’t know me. No one does, that’s why there’s no reason for me to be here.”
  19. Edgar felt something wash over him, taking his pain and everything else. He fell unconscious.
  20. Edgar was helpless. He couldn’t control his own body, he couldn’t help Jenny. And she needed help. She was doing fine in the fight, but he could see something changing about her. It wasn’t good. But he couldn’t help her. He shook on the ground, not even given the relief of unconsciousness.
  21. Edgar was already incapacitated, the madness had no visible effect.
