  1. He smiled back at her. Should he tell her how pretty he thought she was? No…he couldn’t. He didn’t understand why, but her couldn’t.
  2. “It said you should help…with what?!”
  3. “But others of you have, so you could too.”
  4. “Is that why you’re here? Did you cause the catastrophe at the Academy?
  5. Thomas the train hits the dinosaur train, launching the sandwich into my hands.
  6. “Most of you? That sounds interesting.”
  7. Edgar glanced over at Jenny. Should he do something? Something had changed between them, he thought. She seemed nervous, and he was too, just a little. He looked at her again. What was he supposed to do? He was so confused. Was he supposed to hold her hand? He kind of wanted to, but no…or was much too early. His hand twitched at the thought, but it ignored it. Instead, he just stood there.
  8. “Oh, so there’s a council now?”
  9. “Shouldn’t your all powerful being already know?” He asked sarcastically.
  10. She was smiling. It was the infectious sort of smile, the one she usually had. It always made him want to smile too. He started wondering what would happen when they got out of the car. He didn’t want to move his arm, he didn’t want to stop leaning against her. But eventually, the car came to a stop. Reluctantly, he withdrew his arm and exited.
  11. “How?”
  12. Aaron grabs Jane’s arm, steadying both himself and her. @Lotus Blossom
  13. “An impact of my fist in your face if you don’t move.”
  14. “But not to you.”
  15. “My name’s Daniel. I’m not anyone important.”
  16. “Get out of our way!”
  17. Aaron wouldn’t let her die. She had to win. So until she killed him, she would stay alive. He followed her, wary for others.
  18. “That seems like a good idea.” He’d find someone, and when he did he’d kill them. He had a purpose now, he could do it. He would do it, so that Jane could win.
  19. Edgar smiled wildly at her. He really liked that answer. “Thanks, I like it like this.”
  20. Was she…blushing? Was he making her uncomfortable? Should he move, did she want him to? She hadn’t moved away, but he couldn’t tell. Maybe she didn’t want to make him sad or something like that. Yeah, that was probably it. But he could ask her and find out. He whispered softly. “Do you want me to move? I’m sorry if I’ve made you uncomfortable like this,” he said, moving his arm slightly, but keeping it around her shoulders.
  21. He smiled widely at her. She wasn’t moving, she wasn’t crying any more, she was still with him. This was good! He almost told her how pretty he thought she looked, but didn’t. He probably should have, but for some reason saying something like that scared him. So instead he just smiled at her.
  22. “Do you know what that means?” He asked her, whispering. “If we’re similar like that, you need to be more fair to yourself too. I’m glad I can help you like yourself more.” He looked her right in the eyes. She was pretty, he hadn’t realized, or at least appreciated that before. Then he realized how awkward the situation was. He had his arm around her, and now he was thinking about how she looked? He’d barely known her a few days! He didn’t move his arm.
  23. What have I done this time? Edgar thought. She obviously didn’t want him close to her. He almost withdrew his arm, but hesitated. She was leaning against him, did she want to be near him? The glassy look was gone from her eyes, that was good, right? Unsure of what else to do, he leaned back against her a little bit. “It’s ok now. Everything’s going to be ok,” he whispered.
  24. Edgar looked down. This was why he hated himself most of all. He did this to people. He reached into his pocket, feeling the flower. Should he eat it? He should. Then he looked at Jenny again. No…no, she needed him. Putting an arm around her had helped before, right? He did it again, slowly raising his arm and putting it around her shoulders.
  25. “No, I don’t,” he said firmly. “I think you’re a wonderful person. I’m not pitying you.”
