  1. That's basically how I see it as well Leuthie. Elwyn, The way I read that quote is as, "If you were on Roshar you could pick it out of the sky if you were..." As far as we know, it did not end up getting that mention. Brandon said elsewhere that he considered possibly including the name of the planet in TWoK, but no one's been able to find it thus far. I don't think the Silence Divine world would be a part of a constellation though. Planets move all over the place in the night sky, they don't get put into constellations.
  2. Double post because of importance! The number of Stormlight Archive articles on the wiki just hit 500!!!! Also This will be awesome! We can terrify people with our Brandon related trivia knowledge
  3. I've got an interview where he explicitly confirms it to be posted shortly.
  4. See, this disagreement comes from us appreciating different aspects of Brandon's worldbuilding. I love the magical aspects, things like that are wonderful. But I also love cultural things like Aon constellations. They make so much sense and are wonderfully clever, not mundane at all in my opinion. Just another aspect of Brandon's creativity. I think if everything had a magical explanation, that in and of itself would make it all feel mundane.
  5. People name constellations after things in their stories and mythologies. If Taln was given a scar in one story or another, I can see them creating a constellation for it. Personally, I think it's just a cool tie to the mythology of Roshar, like how Arelish constellations are in the shape of Aons.
  6. Glad you're doing better Freja!
  7. Do you see the little green and red arrows in the bottom right of other people's posts? If you like what they say you can hit the green one and it will give them a rep point. If you don't like what they say, hit the red one and it will subtract a point. Rep levels are certain numbers of rep points. You get a cool little title when you're in a certain category. If you keep going on, you'll probably hit Awakener or Misting and so on. The distance between rep levels increases for the higher levels. For example, to get to the first rep level it takes ~5 points, but to get from the second highest to the highest takes ~500. I honestly can't remember specifically what happens at what level, but if I figure it out, I'll post it for you. Also, you can always make a new topic if you have a question. Welcome to 17th Shard!
  8. Personally, I don't want to see Shallan lose her Blade. It'd be pretty cool to see her summon it just in time to stop Szeth from assassinating Dalinar or something.
  9. I honestly don't think he's a Herald. I think that sometimes we get too excited about people without accents. Couldn't even the Heralds have accents, just ones considered odd or archaic by those they met? Sometimes people just learn a language really well. This is the best trader on the Tai-Na, being able to speak to foreigners extremely well would be crucial in his line of work.
  10. Personally, I doubt having someone burn an alloy of lerasium would remove all their other powers. When a Mistborn burns lerasium, they get more powerful, so presumably a Mistborn burning an alloy of lerasium would get stronger in whatever metal was alloyed with the lerasium and the rest of their powers would remain the same.
  11. I'm kind of confused on your point here. Telling the truth is honesty... I'm not denying Jasnah figures truths out. I'm saying I think that other traits are more central to her character than telling the truth. My personal belief is it is your traits and actions that attract a spren to you. I simply think that other attributes are more dominant in Jasnah than honesty. I think this and Jasnah's initial confusion on the symbolheads is fairly decent evidence that Jasnah is bound to a different sort of spren. Kind of confused by this... I never said that I thought that was false.
  12. Do you know where you heard that? Because I've literally never heard anything like that, so this would be kind of a big deal if it's a valid source.
  13. Not sure at all what you mean by the second part, but I simply don't see honesty being a huge part of Jasnah's character. I think plenty of other attributes are more descriptive of Jasnah than honest.
  14. Personally, I wouldn't argue with Hoid about what something is, ever.
  15. Well, the way I see it, Tor's probably not sure when Brandon will get the book out yet. We obviously want November 2013 or so, but early 2014 is still a possibility. The blogger has to set it up so that the reread will last until right around when the book comes out. That way, if it's early he can speed things up, but if it's not ready by then, he won't have to slow anything down.
  16. I think I might have an answer to that. As population increased, Allomancy would weaken, so the lerasium could have been there to "boost" the amount of Preservation and number of Allomancers in the population.
  17. You know that Tanatanes is a date, right? From the way you've phrased your sentence, it sounds like you think it's a name.
  18. My bad, I mixed it up with another report around the same time.
  19. Brandon has confirmed that the Honorblades are a type of Shardblade in his Q&A here.
  20. I would like to announce that I am so going to SpoCon to meet Brandon! Considering I've never met him before I'm pretty pumped, not to mention that gorgeous copy of Firstborn and Defending Elysium. Time to start stocking up on hardcovers... I literally can't wait
  21. The problem is that the transcription isn't in the database. I can confirm that's accurate, and will be putting up hopefully a lot of interviews over the next week or so.
  22. By the pool, do you mean the Well of Ascension? Because that is most definitely of Preservation. There was another pool in the TFE epigraphs that was mentioned that was of Ruin, so if you're referring to that one, my apologies.
  23. Oh wow. Now that is compelling. An Oathgate to Urithiru in the old capital of Natanatan is something I see as being a very real possibility.
  24. Eh, I don't think Jasnah is bound to a truthspren. She makes some comments that seem to indicate that she's in a different order than Shallan. Personally, I don't think the attributes of creativity and honesty fit Jasnah particularly well.
  25. I wouldn't doubt it, but Jasnah is fairly adamant that Urithiru is not in Natanatan, which controlled the area of the Shattered Plains previously. Not that I believe Jasnah is infallible, but I can't see her being that certain without knowing or having a really good idea where it is.
