  1. Welcome! What kind of Misting would you be?
  2. I toss strmblsd over my shoulder fireman carry style and absolutely book it
  3. Aluminum makes sense, but I think a single spren of Honor or Cultivation may suffice, as it is the type of Investiture that I think matters. Also what about the sibling who can suppress all the Fused and some Unmade?
  4. Question 1: How do these fabrials work? Singing Honor's tone so loud Odium's is drowned out? Question 2:How would it interact with other Invested Arts? I think it stops an allomancer from burning metals, Feruchemists can't tap or store attributes, etc. Thoughts?
  5. I doubt they would get very far, TLR had ascended and knew of 3 kinds of constructs and their applicable bindpoints, and spent another 1000 years tinkering to no avail. You would need Ruin's direct intervention to get farther than that.
  6. Using full spikes jam packed with power might be more niche case,as you want those for when making an army *cough*koloss*cough*, but this could make Hemalurgy commercially viable, and people won't suffer some of the worse side effects. I expect in the future this might be more commonplace, as the benefits outweigh the reduced risk from weaker spikes
  7. It does seem you can't steal specific memories from people, so does H-Copper just let you remember things easier? Did the Lord Ruler get around the insanity of Immortality by using copperminds? It seems Investiture can be used to mimic or make molds of your memories, copperminds convert memories to Investiture and back to memories when you tap them. I keep trying to find how you can use the SR, because everyone seems to remark how access to it grants advantages, but I guess we know too little
  8. Could a Nicrosil Twinborn be spiked, let's say A-steel, and store that hemalurgic attribute in a metalmind. They then compound that aspect and, depending on whether or not these metalminds are infinite, you retain A-steel and potentially gain Lerasium level Allomancy without the issue of not having god metals
  9. We have a few examples of Immortals that I remember, Heralds, Fused, Hoid, and Thaidakar(Kelsier?) Hoid stores his memories in his Breaths, which Thaidakar wants to know about to stay sane, and the millennia that the Fused and Heralds have lived through are ripping them apart. I made a post talking about crystal structures and how they hold Light, while maybe being a bit far fetched but I don't know if we know exactly how it works. Another note is I imagine the Spirit Web as a cluster of dots connected with lines, like a crystal, and thought "Hey, what if a similar rule applies here?" Could those dots (like DNA for your soul) hold memories? Some Investiture helps hold memories, like Breaths, and Hemalurgy adds parts of souls to yours, adding those dots, making room for more memories. Side note about Breaths, I remember someone mentioning how breaths are mostly in the PR, so maybe that's why Odium could mess with Hoid's memories, because they aren't fully a part of his Spirit Web. Also, here is the aforementioned thread on Gemhearts and Polestones:
  10. Thanks for the clarification on that, I was making weird connections in my head that don't make sense now that I think about it (Specifically just Investiture helping resist temperature)
  11. This does make sense, and the free will is an issue. Thanks, for the insight
  12. Koloss have certain attributes that don't seem to match up with H-iron. 1. They can survive off of dirt 2.They have reduced senses and "mental and emotional capacity" Their other attributes like cold resistance match with A-pewter, and i can reason that, but eating dirt makes no sense. They would need so many calories, but I have no idea if dirt and ash will sustain them. And why do they have less mental and emotional capacity?
  13. I'll admit to this. If you stole the destiny as Odium's champion but were meant to be his opponent, it would cause problems. But if your Destiny doesn't conflict with the stolen one, then you should be fine. The main way I'm imagining it (even though it conflicts with H-Duralumin) is Connection to a Shard's plans. HoA: RoW: As long as there is no conflict in Destinies, you should be fine. We could be totally wrong and H-Chromium does something else.
  14. It won't lock it down, it's saying "hey you were actually this too" like being an allomancer. It's like grafting a branch to a tree, it doesn't kill the tree, they meld and become one. If the spike is placed wrong it might warp your soul, but that is an aspect of Hemalurgy.
  15. H-Chromium can "maybe steal destiny" and destiny is a topic of debate, but in RoW, Ishar notes how Odium thinks he will fight Dalinar. Could a person steal that? Could you steal Vin's role in taking Preservation?
  16. Part of I am going to do more, it is good for adding words to your vocabulary
  17. A-steel to skip straight to the second floor.
  18. I'm doing the japanese course, but haven't done it for a few weeks.
  19. Why is there always a long term project like thin on the Shard? 2357
  20. Welcome to the Shard! These all seem to fit really well. The internal/external concept has arguments for it to fit and not, I think it is purely preference. As proof of this, the tapestry in Dawnshard has a sun split into four groups of four.
  21. *hugs* I enjoy just reading the Shard to destress, and people here are willing to help in any way they can. Just think about the day you are about to go through, and focus on that. One step at a time. *hugs*
  22. I think that any singer could hear the stones, maybe any (what order is Venli again? I don't think its Stoneward and there is soft and strong axial manipulation.) can hear it. The Dawnsingers could hear the stones and Odium wasn't even on Roshar yet. The main connection Envoyform has to this situation is it let her use Voidlight to fuel her power.
  23. If the spiked metal in question was gold, could you use yourself as a metalmind? I made a post a while ago about how gemstones hold investiture that might help with this question but I can't find it. I said something along the lines of: The atoms in the crystal lattice form VERY weak chemical(?) bonds that holds the Light in place, so large flaws leave holes for Investiture to escape.
  24. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Stormlight Era 1 take place during Mistborn Era 3? The plot sounds good, but the timeline might be misaligned. You also mention using the Rhythms to bring Sazed under control, but that is the same problem as killing Rayse using Anti-Voidlight, there simply isn't enough of it to threaten a Shard. I do like the idea of Kel and Marsh working together as it would be a good character arc as they have had some family issues in the past.
  25. ShardTrombone! My daydreams suring band class! Shard computer?
