I was wondering about Notum being aware in the physical realm—I wonder if it’s as simple as just having people in the physical realm know who he is, and being able to use them as anchors. Not bonding to Adolin, per se, but being thought of by him allowing Notum to maintain awareness more easily

Hahahahaha now that would be a sight I do think the reviews on this thread (and perhaps even on this site in general) are a little more critical than the general consensus, but what do I know. I certainly enjoyed the book, but I can understand some of the criticisms.

Oooh, there could be something to this idea! Most boring answer would be that he just was granted a blade that Odium's forces had won on some battlefield, but I do think he summoned it too quickly for it to be a normal dead shardblade situation. Another theory—what if he pulled an Adolin and Maya type move? From Leshwi's words in RoW we know some fused had friends among the spren—maybe El learned that a friend got turned into a deadeye and tried to revive them?

Ooh, I like Formless for the “darkened twin”. But I really don’t know what the light is… could this be something we’ve yet to see? (In regards to the Girl who Looked Up, while it certainly bears some similarities I feel like the death rattles are for things that haven’t happened yet when the rattle occurs).

Oooh, some cool theories here! With regards to the potential of a 4th shard, Taravodium ponders the other shards in I-4: The Wrong Lesson: “He instead was most curious about the fact that two of the Shards appeared to be missing, completely vanished from interacting with the others. Hidden. One he understood with some effort. But Valor—where had Valor gone, and how did she hide from even his eyes?”. We also have some discussion of the other shards from Tanavast/Honor's perspective—for instance, chapter 115: Binding gives us: “WE COULD SENSE EACH OTHER. ALL EXCEPT A FEW—LIKE EURIDRIUS, HOLDER OF REASON—WHO HAD VANISHED. OR LIKE AMBITION, WHO HAD BEEN DESTROYED”, as well as “I MADE ONE FINAL ATTEMPT AT LOCATING VALOR, THE GREAT DRAGON GOD MEDELANTORIUS—AS SHE WAS A WARRIOR WHO WOULD SURELY JOIN ME. MEDELANTORIUS WAS NOT TO BE FOUND, UNFORTUNATELY”. Granted, these chapters are 7000 years apart, so things might have changed, but it seems the suggestion is that Reason might be the shard that took Taravodium some effort to understand?

If chapter arches return I would be insanely happy to see the Herald of Second Chances staring out at us! Also, I wonder if that aspect of Kaladin’s heraldship means there’s more in store between him and Moash. Not saying I want a redemption arc to happen, but…

Wait, do Szeth and Nightblood think that Nightblood killed Kaladin? I hope not (poor guys need a break from guilt!) but I could see the possibility.

Oh yeah, Aux is definitely 12124. That said, in the Sigzil epilogue chapter Aux says he’ll tell him about Kaladin, but that he doesn’t know what happened after Szeth renounced the bond. So as of the end of WaT, I think Sigzil doesn’t know what’s going on—just that he needs to run! So we still have some gaps to fill in before Sunlit Man: bonding Aux, Aux’s somewhat death, Wit taking back the Dawnshard, etc, but we don’t know whether Sigzil ever returns to Roshar in that time. It’s possible he never learned of the time dilation, it’s possible that he did but it’s still been long enough he thinks everyone he knows is dead by the time he’s Nomad, and it’s possible he does come back and interacts in Part 2.

I wonder if it could be another work by Hessi—the scholar who managed to figure out an impressive amount about the Unmade in Mythica! Always wondered whether they were just a good scholar or something more significant.

This is a really cool theory! And after all, we have seen a Shard try and Ruin a planet before that it was previously unable to escape… it certainly feels like the type of insane loophole that people would overlook!

Oooh I’m intrigued by this death rattle. I don’t think it’s already happened—although maybe you could argue Dalinar refounding the Knights Radiant (fallen title), reclaiming Urithiru (tower), becoming its king (crown), and prosecuting the war (maybe spear?) could possibly fit—so what could it be? Perhaps everything goes insanely awry and someone has to pick up the title of Champion, reforging the coalition after something goes wrong with the tower and the crown (the spear may already be available to be claimed…). But who?

Yeah I’d like to add on to what Treamayne said—planets are big and varied. I'm also not sure whether Sig would necessarily know whether or not he’s Skipped to a planet before. Consider what we saw of Sel in Elantris vs The Emperor's Soul (and even seeing someone recognisable could just be a worldhopper!). That said, maybe he’d be able to tell based on astronomy or Connection or something.

Very curious about the Nightblood question mentioned earlier! How many breaths did it take to craft him, again?
