  1. You likely don't have one, or at least one that's constant don't worry you're probably not insane hehe
  2. Hello everyone, I recently discovered most of the population doesn't have an inner monologue, or a process in which a person can sound out words in their head without having to speak them aloud. Only around 26% of us have a near constant one (constant is pretty much impossible, and when research has been done people tend to over estimate the amount they internalize audio). Apprently it's not all too bad to have one (it's somewhat annoying) because, although counter intuitive, people with one are likely to have a more vivid visual imagination. Some people have an inner monologue but they don't think in full sentences or paragraphs, merely words. Anyway, I'm curious to hear your experiences, especially when reading.
  3. I did a bit of digging and there really isn't much of a correlation. But it would be interesting to see what percentage of the shard is an only, oldest, middle, or youngest child.
  4. Sorry to necropost (sort of), but I've been wondering what portion of the shard is the oldest child in their family (or if they have no siblings). Also, I want to know how many people identify as introverts, extroverts, or ambiverts and how birth order could relate to their personality. Should I create a thread for that?
  5. I'm kind of bossy at times, but I think my second oldest brother (the sibling after me) is pretty bossy
  6. That's interesting. My 10 year old brother is probably the loudest and my baby sister comes close in second from her crying, but she sleeps a lot because she's a baby anyway.
  7. My youngest brother (my youngest sib is still a baby) is actually told to speak up a lot. I think birth order theories on personality have been debunked anyway, so there's probably no correlation with how loud you are either.
  8. I know this isn't realated to the book I'm currently reading, but should I read the malazan trilogy? Some people say it's really good, but I've heard a few people say that it's kind of confusing. I'm not a very "experienced" reader compared to the people at my schools book club btw
  9. Okay, I know I'm not a girl and shouldn't be here, but YES. Swear words don't make sense. Sometimes they are just in random places in a sentence that shouldn't even be in that spot.
  10. Your background photo looks cool! Where'd you take it?

  11. Lol. My school also set up a reading competition and the girl who's in first has read a ton of books while being one of the top in our class. I have no idea how people have time to read, take several AP classes and get near perfect grades. I should study them...jk
  12. What do you fellow teenagers *and kids for some reason* think an avid reader is? My new school has a club for "avid readers", which is a subjective statement, and I'm just wondering what you guys would consider that to be. ~Thanks
  13. Same with apps such as discord. I can see why though. My parents didn't let me have complete access to the internet until I was 14, which sucks because I could've been using it for a whole year more but whatever .
  14. As a people person, I'm not afraid of other people, but I'm a person who can help other people who are afraid of other people.
  15. Being young is great: You typically don't have to worry about the bills. You don't have to worry too much about getting fired. You're naive, therefore you get a second chance sometimes. At elementary school age you're pretty much carefree. etc. etc. This is only generally Being a teenager isn't always so great: You are in an odd transition between being a child and being an adult, yet you are still a child. You have to worry about your future, even though you are at the worst stage of your life to be making such big descisions (such as your career path). Your brain and body are going through several changes (teenagers' brains are all wack ). You might feel pressured in highschool because your future seems to depend on being good academically and socially. You're starting to branch away from your parents and are starting to form new ideas about the world which can be hard. etc. etc. (add on if you have any more ideas) I want to clarify: I'm not an adult yet, so I have no idea how many important things I missed about adulthood
  16. Thanks for the follow Shining Silhouette!

  17. Ikr; I just turned 17 so smoll I also though rabbit unmade and cinnamon to still be teenagers but older Ahhh pretty soon I'll be an adult, I don't want to grow up Okay here are a few things my siblings do (just to preface I'm the oldest of 7 sooo here we go): 1. They believe the Wicked Witch of the West is real (at least the 3 and 7 year old) 2. They have a thing for sniffing your dirty socks 3. All of them, even the 13 year old, still believe in Santa Claus 4. They like putting play-dough everywhere and pretending it's poop 6. As per usual they have weird names for things such as calling monkeys "cloony oonies" I could go on for ages, but I have to go. I apologize.
  18. I come here to talk on behalf of my baby sister (who's literally 3 weeks old): Hello, I cannot talk but I hope this being the youngest thing won't last forever.
  19. Uhhh.... guys I think I may have found a youngest child group.
  20. Welcome fellow new person! Also yes, forum site mods aren't always too happy if people double or triple post (use the edit button to spare yourself ).
