    "Thanks," Ana said half-heartedly, glancing toward the window before forcing herself to sit down. "How long have you been here?" Peter flushed, tried to hide it, and then smirked right back.

    "I don't know if I trust you. But... thanks. I'll keep that in mind." She finally turned away from the window, apparently having concluded that there were no threats outside. Not yet, anyway. "I should be able to get there on my own in a couple of days, once I can make a Bridge again. And if Peter would keep his mouth shut." "Can't help myself, 'Stasia," Peter chimed in, earning a scathing look from Ana.

    She bristled again. "N-no." "That's what I'm saying," Peter agreed.

    "...yeah." She studied Tam's face, then turned back toward the window. Some of the anger left her body--her shoulders slumped, her face softened. "I was just trying to go home." He shrugged. "Like I said, I don't experiment with it much, don't do a lot of swimming. I don't really practice. I've used it, like, twice."

    "I can breathe underwater," Peter said reluctantly, then immediately blurted his next sentence, as if to divert attention from his own very lame, almost totally useless ability. "Ana makes portals between worlds. Usually she has a handle on it, but... lately it's been acting up---that's how we ended up here. We had a row, and kaboom."

    Peter nodded. “I can tell. You all have that look.”

    “It was… a lot,” Peter admitted.

    “Well, both of us got whisked out of our normal lives to this weird, crazy, magic school for heroes. They gave us magic, put us through a lot of hell, challenged and trained us, blah blah blah, but Ana couldn’t take it anymore and used her power to escape. She was running for a long time, and I got recruited to bring her back. Then things started going mad and her boyfriend broke up with her, and she left again. I came with her, cuz she needs a friend. And things were changing. It wasn’t the same.” He shrugged. “That’s the short version.”

    “Oh, you don’t have to worry about that. I only have one. Ana, though…. well, she’s got… more. None of them are tangible things, though, and we shouldn’t be a problem. Unless her magic goes all haywire again.”

      i also put it in greyscale and i think it looks cool

      there’s something about the mouth and chin that’s kinda irking me so i’m gonna fix that before i post those :P

    THANK YOUUU I’M WORKING ON IT I SHOULD HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TOMORROW OKAY I WILL - also this isn’t a writing update but i took some time to draw instead today since i haven’t done a leisure piece in a while and i wanted to do one of kiesha like during her lowest point or whatever cuz i love her and i also haven’t ever really drawn something depressing but uh this turned out like surprisingly well (somehow it only took three hours??? i dunno how that happened but uh…..) uhhh yep the last installment will hopefully be out tomorrow, but no promises
