  1. "I'm glad," Tal said warmly. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny key, just the right size for an otter. "Go up the green stairs, then the blue stairs. If you walk past the hall that smells like lavender, your room will be on the left. It has lots of windows to show you outside, and a wonderful balcony."
  2. Right. Tal nodded. Tal winced. "This isn't...er...I'm fine. Tal winced again. "I'm Tal. You don't need to keep calling me the sad man...listen, I'm the doorman here. It's my job to welcome you to the clinic and ask why you'd like to be here.
  3. Tal glanced away. Tal swallowed, his throat tightening. Thanks.
  4. Tal started scratching Trevor’s head. Thanks for trusting me, he sent quietly.
  5. Tal stumbled back, surprised. “Hi,” he said. “It’s, uh, been a while.” “Ouch,” Tal muttered. I’ll help any way I can, Tal sent. I won’t let him hurt you or anyone else.
  6. Ahh I love it!! Super excited to see what comes next!
  7. Tal nodded at him. “Right,” he murmured. Easier said than done…
  8. “Right,” Tal said. He hesitated, then pulled the key back inside and tucked it into his pocket. “Can you send him down here? Tell him…I need to speak with him before giving him a key.”
  9. Tal’s eyes sharpened, and he put down his book, leaning so that his face was nearly touching the bars. It wasn’t that he’d been uninterested before, and yet the difference was as stark as if he’d been sleeping. Now he was awake, and that was dangerous. Powerful. But dangerous. “Why? What happened?”
  10. Ahh sorry for the double post but Drinking hot cocoa out of those coffee cups that look super cute and have lids, it makes me happy for absolutely no reason.
  11. It depends when these ones end, and if these take a while we may take a quick break. It could be August, but probably no later than that.
  12. “Oh, sure!” Tal said. He pulled a key that looked as if it had been made of melted ruby out of a pocket. It hung on a golden chain. “Tell them to go up to the fourth floor, out to the third smallest courtyard, then climb the sweetest smelling oak tree. This will open the window at the top, which is their room.” He handed Trevor the key through the bars. “And, uh, if they…if they need anything, I can help. So I guess you can come get me. Or they can come down. Or…yeah.” His smile faded slightly.
  13. Tal looked up from a battered copy of Mistborn as he heard Trevor fly in. “Hey, buddy,” he said. “What’s up?”
  14. I think that works! If it gets too overpowered during the games we’ll let you know, but for now I think that sounds good, and I’d say go for increasing range.
  15. Can you explain a little more in detail what you mean by that?
  16. …I apologize for everything. It’s a me problem.
  17. Treat it like writing a story! The more developed your character is the more fun you’ll have. Other than that, I don’t really think so? Oh, quote or mention the people you’re interacting with so that they get notified, and to keep things organized. @Dragonheir, this is the chat thread.
  18. Ahhh sorry I know I'll get to that whenever I have time, which could be a while, my writing schedule is really sporadic.
  19. Guys I hate to be the party pooper...I really do... But... This thread works best when it doesn't get super clogged up...can we maybe pretty please move this to the chat thread? Thanks!! sorrysorrysorry
  20. Sounds good, Tal sent. When the bird was gone, he leaned back, closing his eyes. Stars and spirits, but I'm tired...I want to help them. I should be able to help them. He knew it was safer for everyone if he stayed away. Out of sight, out of mind. At least this way I won't be giving them another monster to deal with.
