  1. Eddie harrumphed and folded her arms. "She's my friend. My best friend."
  2. Eddie watched Amyra die, head cocked to the side. When the body had fallen, she nodded slowly. Yes. My children understand. I teach them well. Their lives end in pain and understanding, every time. I hope that in the next life, they can learn to be grateful. A pity, though. I expected more from this one... Then, suddenly, she giggles and claps her hands. "Oh!" She says. "We have our top two! Dear Nin, dear Ez...I will miss you, my children. Happy hunger games... "And may the odds... "Be ever... "In your favor." @Lord Spirit @Canada Lover
  3. Eddie scrubs the tear off her cheek and flips her gun. "What do you want?" She asks, completely monotone.
  4. *hug* <3 Keep breathing, Elan. We care.
  5. Eddie shoots another tree out the train window, furious at herself for losing control, furious at the terror that somehow fills her, and furious at the single tear that falls down her cheek. She refuses to care.

  7. I liked that! It was quite different than the earlier chapters, which was interesting! I'm curious about what comes next, don't think anything's jumping out at me as super obvious, though.
  8. Thanks so much Jedi!! I like my words (if you couldn't tell from all the fun I have during the hunger games) If you have any feedback or prompts for me I'd love to hear it!
  9. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!
  10. Eddie's face drains of all color. She looks sick. "I have to go," she says, far too quickly. She runs out of the train car. Several moments later, there's the sound of gunshots as she tries to shoot trees out the train window.
  11. Eddie laughs again and walks over to the newcomer, bumping Lilyana's shoulder affectionately as she does so. "Hey. Calev, was it?" She sticks out a hand in an awkward handshake. "It's good to meet you. Do you...need anything?"
  12. Eddie laughs, laughs long and hard until all her fear is gone. "I can't believe you just said that in front of..." she glances at Aster. "You're brave, Lils. You and Aster are going to be beautiful together."
  13. Eddie turns away from the two fallen gamemakers, snorting her disapproval. Her gaze lands on Cassian. "Oh, child," she says, and perhaps some part of her regretted what had happened to Bob, because she slipped her knife away and took him in her arms, looking into his shining eyes. "Oh, my boy. My...my son. You've lived in my home, and that makes you a part of my family. And I don't leave my family," she says sweetly, shoving down memories of the parents she used to have. "These ones don't have much longer; their games are ending, as they should. But you...you don't fit into their little play, their little deaths that ultimately mean nothing...don't worry, my child. I will make room for you. You have a place in my heart, little victor." She wraps him in a hug, and then, when her arms are behind his back, she reaches a finger that's somehow no longer tangible into his mind. "That's right, that's right. You are my son, the only true winner of these games..." @SmilingPanda19
  14. Eddie looks at Lilyana. No, no, no! Lil wouldn't betray me, she wouldn't...she's my friend...what is she keeping from me? "You can tell my anything, Princess," Eddie says, trying to smile.
  15. Eddie's mask drops, and just for a moment, she looks terrified. Just for a moment, she looks...human. Vulnerable. Alive. Her eyes seem to take in the entire scene at once. No, no, no. Your children are dead, the only children you've ever been allowed to have, your only family, gone, gone, gone, willing to die rather than be with you, what kind of a parent so willingly forces harm up their children...their family...who makes their home a place of destruction...destruction...destruction? And then her eyes are hard again; any humanity she had shown is gone. Each child reacts differently to your teaching. He is gone, as are all the rest, and you have changed him, as you have changed the rest.
  16. She squeezes back. "It's going to be okay," she whispers back. "You're more now than you were then." "Oh my..." Eddie throws up her hands impatiently the second she sees the gun. "You get magic guns? That's ridiculous. No! No way. What, does it magically hit all its targets? Magically reload? Cock itself?" She huffs.
  17. “Yeah, yeah.” Eddie shoots the window. The glass shatters, and she reaches out and grabs the hand. “Y’know,” she says, “normal people knock.”
  18. Eddie hesitates. It was tempting, but… No. You aren’t worth that, my son. Besides, it would take far too long, and I don’t have the patience for that.
  19. Eddie spins toward the thump. “Who’s there?” She asks, a hand on each gun.
  20. I can do a lot of things, Eddie sent to him, and I promise you don’t want to see all of them, so I suggest you fight harder.

  22. Eddie smiles at her. “Sure! Thanks.”
