    Eddie gasped. "Oh!" Is it poisonous? Magic? Dangerous? Idiot, no, there are things that don't exist for a reason. "It's beautiful." Eddie flinched at her awkward words. Noticing Calev walking near them, Eddie waved him over. "Hey," she said. "We haven't really met, have we?"

    Eddie stood up, grabbing Cassin’s hand with her right and Ezrium’s with her left. “Come along, my children.” She says kindly. “I’m so proud. You’ve both been so brave. It will be hard again, but for now, let’s rest. Dear Ez…Cassy…” she smiles and leads them to the airship, which flies off.

    Eddie cooks her head. “Sure?” Wren bows his head. As you command, he mentally agrees, though he makes no sound.

    Eddie laughs, and a pair of daggers form in her hands. "You think you could get to my boy? Please. Don't do this, children. I'd like this games to have a winner, and that means one of you needs to live."

    Eddie pulls Cassian closer to her, then stands. "Nin..." she says softly, "this is not the brother you are to kill. Not today."

    Eddie looked her in the eye. "If you want a purpose, find one. Make one. Give yourself a reason. If nothing else, just be curious about a world that you can come to know." She shrugged. "I'm not going to make you stay or leave, but that mindset will only bring you hurt." She walked away, not off the train yet, but to the door.

    Eddie sits in her place in the center of the arena, Cassian on her lap, singing him a lullaby and covering his eyes as she watches the fight.

    Eddie gives her a flat look. “My mother is literally a cat. I don’t care if you’re a real person.”

    “Onward,” Lasina agrees, creating an illusion of sparks going out the door.

    “I’m not going to stop you, but…” Eddie looked pained. “I can’t live forever, Lils, and I don’t want to hurt you.” Eddie looked at all the people and set down her hot cocoa. “So…shall we go?”
