    Rue looks at him. “TAAron. I couldn’t care less what we do, but I have to do something or I will lose my mi—or I’ll be very bored forever.”

    She shrugs. “Not uncomfortable, exactly, trances are just freaky.” Rue also glances away. “Glad I don’t have to deal with it.”

    Rue shivers involuntarily, though it’s barely noticeable. “Yeah, that…that would be good. I can help, if you’d like.”

    Eddie walks along, barely looking conscious. Though neither of them notice it, her footprints are leaving little patches of lava and fire.

    Clinic: Dining Hall Rue pulls a copy of The Emperor’s Soul out of her bag and slams it down on the table. “Bricks.”

    “Those things are like bricks,” Rue says flatly. “Who reads a brick?”

    Eddie follows, still looking distracted.

    Tal (we’ll say he’s the doorman) shuts the door behind the raven.

    “…magic?” Eddie groaned. “Not another book!” Then she saw who it was and pursed her lips. “Oh. Haven’t seen you in a while.”

    Clinic: Lobby Tal sits up at the desk, noticing several new people. “Oh! Um…here, keys are here…” he pulls through a drawer and comes out with 2 keys, handing one to each person who’s asked. @The Honorable One @Ancient Elantrian Then he goes and opens the door. @Ravenclawjedi42 “Yeah!” Rue says. “It’s something to do, and it sure would be convenient…”

    “But if you’re dead, you can’t do any good, either.” Eddie hesitates, then takes it. Her hand is burning hot, like a metal pan. “Everyone!” She calls. “We’re…uh…going to find a village. If you’re coming…come?”

    “You could join us for some chouta, if you’d like,” Rue adds.

    “I know,” Eddie said softly. “I know. Let’s go find that town then, yeah?” I really should have taken that job at Wendy’s… “Look, man,” the boy says. “I’m not a professional, maybe you should get a therapist to really help you, but…blaming yourself for things that happen is never a good idea, like, stuff will happen, and just because it did doesn’t mean you’re to blame. And even if you are, well, you already feel bad about it, and you won’t do it again…”

    Rue turns the other way, sees the writing, then chuckles dryly. “It seems the clinic has a new patient…”
