  1. “It’ll make you feel better.”
  2. The door doesn’t open. The woman’s smile widens as he reaches for the cup. “You’ll be feeling much better soon,” she says.
  3. (Well now you can lose it again too)
  4. @Ravenclawjedi42 @Lord Spirit @RoyalBeeMage @The Honorable One @..... @Little j @Scars of Hathsin @TwinSouls The door slams shut in front of him. "Drink up," the woman repeats, still holding the cup, still smiling.
  5. The woman looks at him...through him? And hands him a cup. "Adim? You look pale...drink this. It'll make you feel better."
  6. "Eat up, love," the woman says kindly. "You're nearly as thin as one of those district freaks, my sweet little boy."
  7. The woman cuts him off before he can finish, as if all she needed was "sure". On the other side of the door is a small kitchen...there's a strange sense that makes Kaza feel vaguely nauseous. The room is clearly decayed and dusty...but its former glory is outlined in blue. Intricate blue curtains hang over a moth-eaten scrap of fabric that may have once covered a window. A table appears barely able to stand...but the blue shows a table polished to a shine. There is no food...but in blue, a faintly transparent feast is spread across the counter.
  8. Luckily, the woman is holding him tight enough that he can't stray. She doesn't respond, just goes on chattering about lunch and how he can't be going down to the cells until she finally opens a door. "Are you hungry?"
  9. “You killed us,” the girl repeats, and suddenly the corridor lights up with a strange and powerful blue light, every cell easily visible…and there are more ghosts. Each cell holds between half a dozen and a dozen children…there have to be hundreds in total. In the space between them there are adults who stare at the children cruelly.
  10. The girl giggled, walking forward and through the bars. “You already killed us,” she says, smiling even as her eyes are blank and dead.
  11. The children look at each other, then back up further…all but one of them. The same girl from before. She’s holding the end of the chain.
  12. Maybe: The prompt was to write a poem from the perspective of someone daydreaming during an exam
  13. I got the prompt today to write a poem from the perspective of someone who’s daydreaming during an exam…I’d love to see what anyone else comes up with! (Mine is going in my thread just because I like to keep my writing in the same place or I’ll go insane, but I swear I’m not elitist or anything I think this thread is awesome)
  14. “We are district,” the boy repeated, the others nodding emphatically.
  15. I will remember those who have been forgotten.

    Who remembers me?

I will listen to those who have been ignored.

    Does anybody hear me?

I will love even those who look past me with indifference.

    I want to be loved.

    Spoiler

Don’t forget the ones who love you, all right? Don’t forget. Tell your mom or dad you love them. Say thanks. Remind them that they are people, and not machines.

And I thank you all, and love you all. You’re wonderful, no matter who’s telling you otherwise, especially your own minds. In an age where mental health suffers more than ever, don’t be controlled by the despair.

    One Family.

Crap- you beat me to the inspirational post of the day.

  16. Wait that’s so funny, one of my friend’s older brothers just got called to Brazil! …you don’t happen to have a twin, do you?
  17. Ok hi, I don’t belong here at all but I’ve wanted to get into fountain pens for a while…except I have horrible handwriting. Do you guys have any tips for improving handwriting?
  18. Hi Elfffffffffff Thaidybear, someday I’m going to teach you about suffering.
  19. The children whimper louder on the word rebellion. “Shhh…”
  20. The children look at each other. One of them cocks his head. “We are district,” he says, as if this explains everything.
  21. When you very nearly start crying because the video for the new secret project won’t load at school …when you have a teacher who loves Brandon and he sees you almost crying in class and asks what’s up and you wordlessly turn around your phone to show the video that won’t load and he says “go to the doors at the end of this hall, that’s where you get the best service” and he suddenly becomes your favorite teacher.
  22. About half a dozen children between the ages of 2 and 6 were stood there. They were all faintly transparent blue, and painfully thin. Most had a single bandage around their left arms. One of the younger ones was crying. The ones closer to the bars started to back up. “Sorry,” tiny voices echoed. “Sorry sorry sorry.”
  23. Abruptly, the released him. “Don’t hurt us,” a tiny voice whimpered.
  24. Her smile was frozen on her face. “Time for lunch, Adim.” She grabbed his hand and pulled him along a a corridor that must have been beautiful, once. Rugs of unmatched beauty were torn to shreds…masterful statues were crumbling to piles of rock…a strange blue glow came from cracks in the walls, the floors, everywhere. Other ghosts bustled about, all adults.
  25. Tal answers the door. “Welcome to the Insanity Clinic for the Moderately Brandofandonitis Afflicted and Other Maladies. How can I help you?”
