I see what you mean, but I personally hate reading her chapters because she never actually does anything. I only read her chapters because things happen around her and because those are the best ones to see Wit/Hoid and the only perspective I can see Pattern.

well, if you're fighting in a highstorm, you're practically dead anyway unless you're Kaladin* *or any other KR/honorblade wielder

See, I've been thinking that the entire time I've been reading SA. I was so happy I wasn't the only one when I saw this thread. I get why Brandon made her the way he did and why she still is that way, but I still absolutely despise reading her perspectives and wouldn't be saddened if Brandon killed her off (though I have friends and Shallan is their favorite character). Me neither, you're not alone there. They always feel kind of pointless to me and I always think either, "Get back to Kaladin" or, "Get back to Dalinar." I agree. That is where I am mentally when I read her chapters. Again, I'm not saying this to demean mental health struggles, I just genuinely hate reading her character and don't like her as a character either.

fair enough, but I think that if the Misting/Mistborn had enough copper, they could stop it because I think of it more as a knife stabbing into rubber or paper or something but the farther it goes, the duller it gets and so it's eating up the copper but if there was enough copper, and they could burn it fast enough, it could stop it. I agree that It would take a freaking ton of copper (to release Investiture) to equal the Radiant's Investiture in the form of the Lashing. Or, I guess compounding could possibly equal the Investiture.

Was the Shardblade Taln appeared with a normal Shardblade or was it his Honorblade that he retrieved or took to Braize?

I am pretty sure it's not chomium because Hoid isn't a Feruchemist or Ferring as far as I know, and I'm definitely going to open this up into a different thread.
-
But what if a copper savant flared their copper right as the Soulcaster or Radiant tried to change or lash them or something like that. With that extra surge of power, would they be able to block the Stormlight or would the coppercloud be diminished and shrink as the Stormlight tried to penetrate and maybe break through or would both powers just dissipate? And if a Radiant is trying to lash them, does the stormlight flow over the coppercloud like a storm over a bubble and basically put pressure on it until the metaphorical bubble popped or would the stormlight focus on breaking through a specific point like a knife jabbed at a massive bubble? If it acts the second way, does the coppercloud still protect from Rioting/Soothing/other investiture, or does it collapse on itself and the Investiture dissipate. Also, can you like pour extra copper influence to the bubble under the same laws as you can lash something multiple times, assuming you have the copper for it.

ok, sorry, my bad

yeah, I know that, but Elantris takes place far Post-Shattering so The "original" Hoid should be gone at that point.
-
Is that kind of what Hoid does? He said that he took an oath when he was young that he would always be where he was needed and this sounds similar to that.
-
Assuming that Elantris takes place at about the same time as the other series and not eons earlier, he was the newer Hoid, the one we see in all the other books.

ok

Exactly what the title says: Would a sphere in a chasm charge during a highstorm? Thanks ya'll Sorry, I accidentally made three because it wouldn't load.

Who was Hoid (not the current Hoid)
Immortal Platypus replied to Immortal Platypus's question in Cosmere Q&A
ok -
I WoK, Syl says that she dislikes Hoid and that he's strange. He is strange, but does anyone know why she dislikes him? Is it because he knew Tanavast or some other reason? Thanks ya'll
-
Okay, so the name Cephandrias normally uses is Hoid, right? But he says in WoK, "You may call me Hoid... The name of someone I should have loved." So, who was Hoid? Thanks ya'll

I'm actually re-reading it. I can't remember who they are, or I didn't notice it the first time. I've read the whole series.

Just like the title asks, Who are the Envisagers? Teft mentions them when he discovers Kaladin is a Radient. Quote, "I need to tell the Envisagers ... The Envisagers were gone. Dead, because of what he'd done." So, Who are the Envisagers and what did Teft do to them? Thanks ya'll

I don't think he is because (Stormlight spoiler) He might be though, I don't understand as much about the cosmere as I would like to, so you could definitely be right.
