I love music composition - hate theory.

flashbacks to:

"Is this a major third, minor third, perfect forth, perfect fifth, minor sixth, major sixth, minor seventh, or major seventh?" - my theory teacher

"It sounds like minor third" -me

"Incorrect. Major seventh." - theory teacher

Oh I can't do it by ear. That'd be... torture.

But like...

If they gave you and E and told you to find the m2 with a down arrow next to it that would be a D right?? 

That's what the band peoples told us last year... and that's not what the new choir teacher is telling us and I don't know what or who is right.
