    Terrance said nothing.

    Eventually, Terrance gave up and stopped running before sliding to the ground against the wall of a building. One of his hands was covered in blood from the cuts it had reopened on his arm.

    "Yes. You have no good reasons, and there are plenty of reasons against."

    "That's ridiculous."

    "Why?" Terrance avoided meeting his eyes for now. His fingers dug into the cuts on one of his arms.
  8. The Aspiring Archivist
    Eventually, Terrance concluded that he wouldn't be able to get away just by running, and Jace was too focused on him for him to disappear. So Terrance turned around. "Explain to me how you could possibly be telling the truth. Explain to me what about me could possibly earn that."

    "Away!" Terrance shuddered, trying to control his raging thoughts and emotions. He couldn't trust himself, and he definitely couldn't trust Jace. So he ran.

    "There is no possible reason... Whatever. It doesn't matter. I need to go." Terrance again began to run. He needed to hide, to get away from whatever insanity this quest had become.

    Terrance froze. "No."

    "Why not?"

    Hmm... I was going to answer this but then I remembered that I don't really strongly relate to any gender?

    "Leave me alone!" Terrance sounded afraid.

    As soon as Terrance recovered, he quickly began to try and get away again.

    Jace could see that he was bleeding from several small scratches and scuffs on his hands and knees. He also had a small trickle of blood running down the side of his head from where it had struck the ground.

    Terrance groaned, dazed.

    "I... I can't..." Terrance, trying to go faster than he really could, tripped and crashed to the ground, his head hitting the concrete with a sickening crack.

    "Please, stop!"

    Eventually, he managed to catch up. Terrance looked back, catching Jace's eyes and sending a wave of terror through him.

    He saw Terrance running, his ability to hide from people's attention breaking.

    Jace caught movement out of the corner of his eye.
