  1. For the longest time, I was kind of proud of the fact that I had very long-lasting friendships. All the way from 1st to 8th grade, I kept the same group of friends. I thought that we were all just so very close. But I underestimated the advantage of being in the same small school for those eight years.

Now, I'm in a new, much larger school. Most of my friends are still there, but I just... don't talk to them anymore, unless I encounter them directly. I don't seek them out, and they don't seek me out. What I thought was a tight bond was so much less than I though.

    Time dismantles all.

And I feel like it was my fault, too.

Those feelings are never fun. As a person who has been in many different schooling environments, I have had many friendships stay a while after I was finished with that school, but I’ve had just as many fade afterwards. I can tell you that it is not your fault. To my knowledge, you haven’t pushed anyone away and you haven’t been rude, all that happened was the environment changed. That’s all that happened. And with that change, everyone changed as well.

All that to say, yes change is difficult, and your feelings are valid. You will get through it. (Plus the Shard is here when you need us)
