Haly bit her lip. "Yeah. I get that." Her insides felt all shriveled up. She'd looked forward to this-- or at least imagined it-- for years now. And now she had nothing to look forward to. He was gone. She had to admit that. The TAAron she knew and loved was gone. That was okay. That was fine. She could deal with this. No. She couldn't. But she was ignoring that for now. "What's been going on recently?"

"Ah. I... I guess I should go then." She scuffed her shoe on the floor, both hoping he's ask her to stay and at the same time desperately needing to escape. "I didn't come here. I just appeared."

"You could say that. It's a little bit simpler. All the guys I threw myself at were already taken, for one, and then every friend I had had a better friend. So I've just always been background, you know?" She shrugged. "It kind of gets old." "Ah." How was she supposed to feel now? He'd made himself forget her? That couldn't mean he didn't care. But he didn't care now. She leaned against the wall, tempted to fall through it all the way past the ground to the Belowplace and find somewhere to cry. Or maybe a nice world to live the rest of her life on. Something like that. "What do you remember?"

"Nah. Socializing is awesome." She sighed. "The problem is that I socialize with all the wrong people, apparently."

"I can. Possibly. What do you want to see him for?" She tossed her blonde hair." "That makes sense. And yes. I'd agree." Emotions warred in her head. Should she be happy? Or hurt, because he hadn't remembered, and she'd been pining for years? "Yeah. Yeah, I am."

Her face froze in a smile, but gradually fell. She let go of him and stumbled back, pale. "No... no, not again. TAAron? TAAron, you know me. Think. Think for just a second. Please... you can't forget."

"Relationships?" Mitis asked. Haly's eyes widened. "TAAron? I... oh my... I thought I'd never see you again!" She grabbed him in a hug, unable to keep back tears.

"Well... you should probably not do either of those things." She shrugged. "But what do I know about relationships?" "Never heard of it," Sol said.

"...Magic. Ruled the world." She laughed. "Magic isn't smart enough for that--- at least, what I've come across. Magic just wants to be used up." "You should probably be a bit gentler."

She shrugged. "Fair. Where were you before you fell from the sky?"

"Thank you. But no. Have you seen a brunette running around screaming her head off? Or, alternatively, a girl in a black uniform?"

A blonde girl with green eyes wearing her hair in layers under a tricorner hat jumped when she saw them. Her hand twitched toward one of the weapons on her belt--- it was hard to say which. She had two swords and two pistols, and her boots looked like they'd hold a dagger or two. "You're patients here, right?"

"Nope. Never heard of it."

"...not necessarily, no. My captain, for instance. She sees peoples' souls. She doesn't have any side effects. Her magic only shows her truth." She paused. Well... that wasn't all. But it was close enough to the truth.

"I mean, I wouldn't mind it, but I don't need it. Maybe I do. I don't know hwat this place is like."

"What's wrong with it? Magic is a good thing, Pisces. Sometimes." She rubbed her collar absently.

She grabbed Emma's arms, frantic. "Where is he?" @The Aspiring Archivist

Haly skidded to a stop. Somehow the sight of Emma--- a remnant of days long past--- gave her back control of her brain. "Emma. Emma, where's TAAron?!? Is he here?!?"

Haly leaned on the railing and watched the waves, trying to push his image out of her mind. It was one of those days. They didn't come often anymore, but when they did, they left Haly feeling melancholy and incomplete. She knew she was being stupid. She knew she wouldn't ever see him again, and it had been so long, it probably wouldn't matter if she did. But... she couldn't stop it from coming. Breathing in the tangy metal smell of the ocean, she turned away from the ship's railing. The rest of the crew lounged around on deck or climbed like spiders in the sails. Mitis watched from up by the helm, though she didn't touch it. Mitis had turned out to be an extremely competent captain. Downright scary, sometimes. Mitis saw Haly watching her and waved her up with a grin. "Beautiful day, isn't it?" She said once Haly had climbed the stairs. "Yeah. It's nice and sunny." "But Sol isn't here. I haven't seen her for a few hours now, and her soul signature isn't anywhere on this ship." Haly frowned. "That's... strange. Is she alive, at least?" Mitis laughed. "Oh, she's alive. But she 's somewhere else. It's foggy, which means it's not in this realm at all. I'd have to follow it to find out. I'll leave Emilie in charge, and I was wondering whether you and Rylla would come with me." "Sure." Anything for a change of scenery. Maybe an adventure would snap her out of it. Maybe switching worlds... She'd done that before. With TAAron. She shook the thought out of her head and went to find Rylla. Ten minutes later, this has already gone too long so I'm done describing it. Anyway, they go *poof* and they're outside the clinic now. Haly's brain slowed substantially as she looked up at the building. That building... that building... TAAron. Her mind shut off altogether, leaving her with that thought. She tore through the doors before Mitis and Rylla could stop her and dashed through the halls, screaming his name at the top of her lungs.

"No kidding. Literally everything in our world runs on some magic or other." That was an exaggeration, but Sol didn''t really care.
