    Bat sat down and waited for Rose. "I'm okay," he told Cricket. "You guys can come back for us when Tam wakes up." "Yes." A group of people inside suddenly stopped talking and stared at him. They all wore Egyptian apparel for some inapparent reason. "Outsider," a man breathed.

    "It's scary. You did great." He glanced around the empty hallway, then fell through the floor again.

    "Tellin doesn't know. Open the door, nitwit." He hurried through and splashed into the ocean, spluttering before pulling himself back on to the platform. He'd discarded his gear before the fight. The boat was closer this time, but Gaioh the eel was still beneath him, exploring the reef. He sighed, relieved, as the boat floated closer.

    “Good. We went underwater and swam around.” He started. “Gaioh! Oh, RAX, I forgot!” He commenced panicking and jumped to his feet. “He’s gonna die. I have to get back!”

    He shook his head. “No, just the bullet.”

    “They’re not supposed to! But… they did, I guess.” He frowned. “So… yeah. I don’t know.”

    He shook his head and moved his shirt slightly so Crricket could see his tattoos. Several of them had swirled together to make a black circle the size of a bullet.

    Lady Bug appeared next to him. “Crazy? What’s wrong with crazy??” “I try to keep a little of everything. Bandages, eyepatches, burn ointment, you name it.”

The fire that cleanses the land will cleanse you from it!” Oop mb “I’m okay.” He resisted the urge to look toward Stone. “I’m… I’m really glad you’re not dead.” He pulled out a very nice leather eyepatch. “You wanted one of these, right?”

    “Nice.” He waved at the people, then closed the door and continued down the hallway, whistling.

    Lady Bug appeared standing in the air. “Fool.” A floor appeared beneath them, covered in sandwiches. “There,” she crowed. “I’ve taken your meaning and your drive. What do you do now?”

    She cackled. MUFFIN GANG DUDES WHAT THE HECK WHERE DID YOU GET BUFFET FROM Bat smiled timidly at him. “Uh… you don’t look good. Want an energy leaf?”
