  1. “Like you,” she chirped, curling up as well. He squeaked. “You… you’re gonna help her?”
  2. “Well… maybe your purpose could be being a real hero. Trying.” She hopped off his head and wrapped around his shoulders. He jumped. Oh, gosh, she’d actually answered. “R- uh… well, I… I just wanna know how to help her.”
  3. “Try. Be a hero now. That’s a good purpose.” She sighed. “Fed it to a dumb rabbit to keep him from eating me.”
  4. I… I don’t know if I should be asking this… it’s probably not fair. But… I was wondering if you could maybe… Actually, maybe not. How do I help her?
  5. I find death fascinating
  6. She nodded, too winded to do much else. Essa touched his shoulder. “She’ll be fine. Come on.”
  7. “Okay.” He left through the front door Abe softly closed the door to the cabin, looking up at the clouds. He felt suddenly uneasy. H- hello?
  8. If I ever publish one, you’ll get a signed copy

  11. It ends with the hypothesis that the train goes to heaven and that the station in which they’re waiting is hell which intrigued me and still does You know the CSlewis quote? The one from The Great Divorce, I think? It’s smth like “and when it is over those in heaven will say “we have always been in heaven” and those in hell “we have always been in hell”? That quote too, and it really makes perfect sense especially as the boom explains it further
  12. “I’ll come—“ she started, but doubled over coughing again.
  13. He frowned. “This doesn’t mean we’re not talking about it,” he told her. “It just means it’ll be harder for you when the time comes because you’re not used to talking normally.”
  14. “Oh— uh, I guess not. I just wanna make sure you’re okay.”
  15. She shook her head and opened a door. “Don’t believe so.”
  16. It’s really good. It’s about these people who are waiting for a subway when they realize they’re all dead and they have to wonder whether the train goes to Heaven or Hell
