  1. He squeezed her hand. “Do you know why?” - The blood drained frim Five’s face when she saw the restraints. “Fine. He tried to break out, apparently.” Lise shrugged. “We’ll only hold him until he gets healed up, though. He doesn’t seem to know anything important.” Cricket and Rose were in one room, and Tam and Bat were in another. She tilted her head. “I know I’ve heard that word before…”
  2. He squeezed her hand encouragingly. “Uh… down the hall, I think. On the right.” He frowned. “Or the left, maybe?”
  3. The guy looked up, simplifying the beat so he could talk. “Huh? Who?”
  4. Bat and Tam weren’t in the main room, but there WAS a guy with shaggy hair jamming out in a full-size drum set.
  5. Wait like so literal or figurative hell?
  6. “I’ll look for them, in case they left.”
  7. She shook her head. "But I can probably find them."
  8. "We can relax while we get to know them." She was kind of tired of catastrophies happening with nobody else to help out.
  9. "We should find some of the others. The new ones." Well, they weren't new. But she didn't know them.
  10. You know when you're driving and you close your eyes for juuust a second and then you keep them closed for three or four seconds and when you open them you're kind of disappointed

  11. the woman tilted her head thoughtfully. “Hmm… how did they get you?” “Oh… uh… how about… tell me how you felt earlier.” — Five hurried too. The guards let them pass. Lise was there too, and she greeted Irie with a nod.
  12. He brightened. “That- that would be good.” - Five hesitated, then nodded. “You want us to let you go, escaping isn’t the best idea.” Aden folded his arms. The woman gave him a look. “We’re not going to keep you long, I promise. We’ve been gathering information on this group for a long time, and we’d sincerely appreciate any knowledge you could offer.”
  13. “You’re welcome.” - Five lifted her hand halfway as if to reach out, but she stopped and hugged herself again.
  14. He smiled back, then looked back up at the ceiling. “I never really had friends before you. Except maybe when I was young. So we’re even.” - “No!” Five stood up. “Irie, no, please don’t go!”
  15. Yup Her eyes widened. “It’s so clear,” she whispers. “And I can see forever!”
  16. He squeezed her hand, feeling warmer. “Thank you.” She nodded. - uh let’s say he called Irie too if that’s ok
  17. Aden stumbled. The guards posted outside the door turned. The first activated her sword and swung it through his neck, knocking him out. The next time he woke up, he awoke in metal restraints. The bed was bolted to the floor this time. Aden had been joined by another woman with dark hair, almond shaped eyes, and tanned skin.
  18. That doesn’t make me into ash though…. I’d be able to get alll over everywhere and annoy the heck out of people >:)
  19. “You’re my friend. My best friend.” - She shook her head. “They called me Five.” Aden sighed deeply and pulled out the empty hilt, activating the blue-purple blade. “I really hate threatening people, Starlight. Look, we’re not the bad guys. How about you sit down and tell me your story before we do anything rash?” She took the amulet. “Thank you! Yes, I wanna see!”
  20. Aden stopped him again. “Do I need to restrain you?” He asked, annoyed. “And, at the most basic level, you should tell us because we saved you. I have other reasons, if you wanna hear.”
